The strange lake

'How could I do that to her?' He was sprinting through the forest mindlessly without realizing where he was going. He had given in to the desires but the moment she said that she missed him as well, it was like a slap to his face that knocked him back to his senses.

He had promised himself that he will not let her get any closer so that it won't hurt her when she will leave because eventually he had to. They both knew it. Someone had to hurt and he had decided to be that someone, to endure it all by himself. When she had to leave, he wanted her to look at him the same way she did when they met, just like an annoying rude stranger that she didn't wanna see again after her business was done. To see him as someone whom she met for a little while and could happily part her ways from without having to hurt.
