Hey Maa! Mataji!

For the first time in history, Mr. Kashyap decided to break the ice himself.  "So, don't you have any questions about the men we faced yesterday?"

This brought Somya's attention back to the events of the other day. Because of the matter with Ansh, she had completely forgotten that they were both almost killed yesterday.

Now that she thinks about it, it was really strange to be attacked by someone for no reason and what's more that was a whole gang of people!

Forgetting about her fury from earlier, she turned her head towards him, "Yeap! Who were they? And why did they did what they did? Is someone behind all this or were they, everyday robbers?" She blurted out many questions running in her head at once and was about to spout even more but he stopped her.

"First of all, listen to me," he hushed her. " I asked the police about it in the morning. They asserted that they were asked to kill us," he paused deliberately to see her expressions.

In fact, he had brought this topic up just to settle her curiosity before it's born. He knew that as soon as her mind got out of the shit named 'Ansh' the first thing she would do would be to inquire him about this and it would be harder to feed her a lie by then. So why not do it now, leaving nothing to fear later.

And it was a good topic to kill her silence as well. He never liked her being silent, he thought, completely forgetting that he is someone who remains silent most of the time.

His words made Somya's kajal-filled eyes go wide in a second. All sorts of wild thoughts started running in her mind. And she gave an expression of the 'Dayaben' from TMKOC saying, 'Hey Maa! Mataji!'

"K..killing!?! Who? Why? Whom? Me? What did I even do?!"

"Calm down," he said, pulling a leash on her galloping thoughts. Despite breaking such big news earlier his expressions were still composed. In any way, he didn't look like someone who escaped death a day before.

"In their investigation, the police found that those men were commissioned to kill but not us. They mistook us for someone else and ambushed us in their stead. Don't worry, now they are all in jail and we have nothing to fear as we weren't their target, to begin with," he explained.

Yes, this was the story he prepared along with Neel, his inspector friend, to report her. Thinking back about yesterday made his eyes narrowed, giving his face a dangerous look.

He had known that they were being followed since the time he heard traces of aligned footsteps and the scarce number of people on the streets. But he could not deal with them carelessly as he always does because she was there with him too. And even more, he couldn't explain the situation to her if he asks her to hide. So he chose to feign ignorance. 'Let's behave how a normal civilian would act in such situation.'

When he ordered her to stay unnoticed, he really wished for her to follow his words but from inside he already knew that it would be too much for his bunny. After all, she was exactly the type of person who can't stay calm after seeing others in trouble.

He had decided that if she stepped into this mess then he is going to solve it in his own way, hard and quick. If she saw it then she saw it. Hypnotism or bad dreams, he would just deal with the aftermath anyhow.

But surprisingly it wasn't needed. She fought well, quite well for someone who doesn't even know how to hold a sword. And thus he was saved from racking his mind for making up another lie as well.

Somya finally relaxed and even got a little delighted but she was still curious so she asked, "How could they attack us just like that? If they were going to kill someone shouldn't they confirm about them first! What would happen if they had actually killed us!"

"What could happen. If they had killed us then that's it," he chuckled.
