The real raid experience [7]
"call this... self defense" was the last ever sentence the madman heard before meeting his creator which I bet was probably Satan or some other shit like that, Eula didn't even flinch for a second when she snapped that neck like a twig, this wasn't her first time killing another human being as even among hunters, there are people who don't take the joy of killing monsters but instead humans to fulfill whatever kind of fucked up fetish they had. Eula encountered many such people when she was a hunter but none of them ever stood a chance against her as they only suffered a painless death.
(I'm not surprised people like these exist in this world... other than that, it seems like I'm in the spotlight now..) Eula thought to herself as a hundred eyes pierced her body with stares
"my gosh..."
"brutal.."
"eek! I could see the spine sticking out!"
The people commented on her brutal actions she has committed in front of many leaders but it was obvious that she just saved everyone, Eula only hoped that the laws of Gracia was different compared to the US.

4 days passed and she was finally halfway through with the quest, she had her fast food job tommorow but she did still apply for a raid near her, she was supposed to go home afternoon but she took that time for her raid which she carefully picked since it was timed perfectly with her break time.
(i baught this halberd weapon from the hunter shop online... Thank God for the good delivey time, I would've went into the raid without a weapon if it arrived late...)
The halberd consists of an axe blade topped with a spike mounted on a long shaft. It always has hook or thorn on the back side of the axe blade for grappling mounted combatants but in this case, the hook has been straightened for more practical use against non mounted enemies.
(it's a head higher than my body, I have to look up in order to see it properly... Reliable armor is too expensive for me though and another bad news I jsut figured out... I got paid a lot because there were only 4 of us to split the money, still isn't bad though.. Just 1 raid makes more than what I make in a month)
After getting familiar with her new weapon she immediately went to sleep to prapare for tommorow, Egam had a hard time sleeping as if she slept on solid rock but she found her golden sleeping position in no time, she slept instantly for the next day to come.

She walked into the streets that was filled with guild members, the gate was located in some suburban area and it appeared just 3 days ago. Many of people that lived in the general area stood by and watched as the hunters prapared themselves with some equipment provided by the Venus guild.
(free weapons? I thought those were rare to get.. Huh? Even some free armor too?)
To her surprise, there were a lot of free equipment to borrow for the raid but she quickly new the reason why as a Venus guild officer explained some things to clear everyones minds.
"so since there's a couple new hunters here, I'll have to explain some things... This E rank gate is more powerful than normal ones so it's close to a D rank but still significantly weaker, we've provided some good quality weapons and armor as you can see here" the officer explained not too worried about the situation
"what?! Are you mad?! There's only 10 of us here let alone some newbies! And you expect us to clear this?" a man shouted at the officer, since he had some scars and worn down armor, he was probably experienced with many raids to his name
(I'm with him, it's dumb to do this risky move) Egam thought with some sweat emerging from her face
"I'm sorry sir but the gates appearing today are a lot more than usual, plus the majority of them are D ranks! Our more powerful and experienced E ranks are trying to clear them right now with our D ranks, please understand that we have our hands full-
"then ask some B rank hunter to solo the more powerful E rank gates! Not us!"
"I-I'm sorry! But they're all busy right now"
"tsk... what luck.. Tell me you braught guns"
"y-yes we did, we got some rifles and plenty of ammo"
"ugh.. we'll take em all now let's go!" the man shouted to all of the hunters that will participate
Egam was a little startled from what the man said since she felt like she was in the military all of a sudden but she felt safe since everyone followed the man without question as if they acknowledged him as a leader.

This time the dungeon wasn't a cave but an actual castle with minimal lighting, there was no stench or was there even any stench, the whole dungeon was quiet and with no distinct smell, it made everything unnaturally quiet as the only sounds they heard were only themselves.
The rooms were large as if they were in an indoor basketball court but it might be even larger as the only light source were these crystal like spikes that protruded from the stone castle walls however they only lit up a quarter of the full room.
(maybe I should've braught more armor, I only have this steel arm armor, kneecap armor for both of my legs and this small pointy shield thing... If only they had comfortable chest armor I would've used it but all of them were hard to breathe in) Egam thought with mixed feelings

"does the blood scare you?" someone asked Egam
".. um.. No it doesn't (I've seen fighting games more gruesome than this)" Egam replied without much feeling into her voice"
"is that so... Gates really do bring out the unknown things inside of us, I got a friend who was awakened as a C rank hunter.. He didn't want to kill animals before but he was short on money, he went on a raid... Turns out he was a natural born hunter and he didn't even know he had it in him"
"shh!" the leader ordered everyone to shut up
In the distance was a massive horse, it had black scales covering its entire body except for the eyes, the hunters got into a hiding spot to discuss their next move.
"alright, I want you all to shoot its head... It will not penetrate the scales but it will mess up its brain badly, aim for the eyes and don't go behind it unless you wanna die"
"why?" someone questioned
"you don't know how hard horses kick.. Let alone something of that size and weight... Trust me... You don't wanna experience it"
"..... ._. " the one who asked the question replied
Sooner or later, the room erupted violently as flashes of bright light went on and off because of the muzzle flashes, as the guns lit up the room like disco balls putting up a light show, loud metal banging was heard while sparks flew off from the armored horse's head as bullets ricochet off the scales or simply failing to penetrate it however the sheer kinetic energy from all the bullets fired into its head was big enough to almost kill it or knock it out instantly.
The gunfire was silenced as the screams of the hunters emerged as they charged at the disoriented beast, as instructed they all went for the eyes but all of them missed since it was a hard target to get.
"i got one! Aargh!-
After stabbing it in the eye, the horse immediately showed its back to the hunter as it slammed the hunter with its powerful leg kick. His steel chest armor couldn't do anything other than getting caved in by the huge force striking it, the man was sent flying to the walls as his air got knocked out of him instantly.
"he isn't dead! Get the other eye!"
"I got it!"
Using their advantage, they successfully defeated the beast while only losing 1 guy which was immediately sent back to the outside world for immediate medication by two other hunters, the rest waited for them to come back as they sat in a corner of a dark room.
"we need to drop this raid, we will die if we don't-
"yeah I was just thinking about that... We are short in members plus most of you aren't even experienced, now that we are a little rested.. We should head back and drop this raid, it's my fault for even coming here but luckily no one died, let's get out before things get worse" the leader explained without regrets in his new decision
"finally, I really hoped you would say that-
"yo! What the fuck is that!"
Right in front of them was a creature that emerged without warning, by the time they noticed it was already too late for them.
