Sefi had long since decided that being sad or feeling sad was a choice that one made. And there was no point in being sad forever. That was like crying over spilt milk. It did nothing and it solved nothing.
In her previous life, she had been blessed. Life was good until the point she got into that car. She had loving parents and a big brother who doted on her. She went to a good school and had plenty of friends.
But now, all that was in the past, she had been given the chance to reborn again and she was going to damn well live up to every minute of it. Not just for her own sake but the body's previous owner.
What's more, there were many similarities between her and the original owner of this body. They already had the same name, which made life much more convenient, if someone happened to call out her name in the street, she would hardly miss it and end up walking straight past them.
And they were both the same age, eighteen years old with the same birthday. And they were about the same height, both 5'5. That was just too much of a coincidence. They could have been twins if it weren't for the fact that they had different parents and lived apart in different continents separated by a great big ocean.
The only major difference was that they didn't look like each other. The original owner was much thinner than her. A lot thinner.
Sefi wasn't exactly fat in her previous life, but she belonged to the sporty type. Her body was toned and strong, she played hockey throughout her school years and was part of the Oxford rowing team.
In the past, she used to be able to do thirty Burpees in under a minute without breaking a sweat and now looking at her current state, she'll be lucky if she managed ten without needing emergency CPR.
She got that Asian girls were meant to be dainty and slight, she was Asian herself but this original owner was so slim, Sefi bets that she'll end up toppling over if there was a strong gust of wind. Her thin arms couldn't even lift a bag of sugar, which for the record was only one kilogram. Sefi was used to being able to bench press twenty kilograms at each end! And her waist was tiny, it was like that of Barbie!
When she saw her new reflection in the bathroom mirror she almost gasped. She was ghastly pale, she could see the blue veins running underneath her translucent skin. She wondered when was the last time the original owner went outside and got some sunlight.
She'd always thought a healthy tan did wonders for the skin. It just gave it the most amazing glow. Sefi was a big lover of bronzers and fake tans. And the original owner clearly did not share that love because the only item of cosmetics she had was a tube of lip balm.
The burst of mouth-watering aroma filled the room, and Sefi saw Tracy walking in with a little tray, not dissimilar to the ones they used to carry food on aeroplanes.
Sefi looked up expectantly, glanced at the food on it and immediately frowned.
What were they playing at? Surely this cannot be all there is? It was so little, how could anyone feel remotely full after eating that?! Sefi was flabbergasted. What was wrong with these people? No wonder the original owner was so bloody skinny! They were probably starving her to half to death!
"The doctor said that your body is still recovering and instructed for you to eat a healthy balanced diet, smaller meals and more often. The chef prepared this especially for you, it's full of flavours. Why don't you try it and see what you think?" Tracy explained.
Placing the tray gently on the table, Tracy opened up the neatly folded white napkin and wrapped it around Sefi's neck as if it was a bib for a baby. Sitting on the chair next to the edge of the bed, Tracy started to feed her small spoonfuls of porridge, carefully wiping the corners of her mouth.
It wasn't too bad. It has been years since she'd had this type of rice porridge. Probably the last time was when she was a baby. It was the type of thing that gets given to people when they were unwell. There wasn't much chewing required and didn't take much to digest.
The strangest thing was she was being fed all because of that imbecile. Sefi didn't know what his problem was but he definitely had some sort of a superiority complex. She didn't care if that was her fiancée, he practically broke every bone on her wrist! She was only wanting to get another glimpse of his phone, did he have to be that brutal?! There was just no need for that whatsoever!
Sefi thought angrily whilst eating. She must admit although the quantity of food was inadequate, the taste was very delicious. She couldn't decide if it was because everything tasted better when she was hungry or if the chef was truly that good at his job. Give the man a Michelin star! She felt like saying. It was probably one of the best meals she had ever eaten.
Her pale cheeks gradually had a nice rosy tint, making her look more alive. After swallowing the porridge happily, Sefi lifted her chin and tilted in the direction of the runner beans, pointing at it with the tip of her nose.
Tracy immediately understood her signals and picked up a runner bean with her chopsticks. Sefi opened her mouth cooperatively like a little bird being fed by its mother and she ate with great relish.
Who would've thought the humble runner beans went well with porridge? Sefi felt like someone had opened up a new culinary window for her.
"Young Master!" Tracy exclaimed, immediately getting up from her chair.
