The Third Summon

Rick had been a retail manager before dying. The way he had died wasn't the most honorable way to go. Slipping on black ice on that snowy day left a bitterness in him. This had happened right when he was about to go into work. He was then reborn as a dragon. It sounded cool, but it was more horiffying than anything. Having claws instead of hands, a hunger for raw meat, and being unable to speak. The seperation between him and humans was heartbreaking, but then he gained a skill that allowed him to be human. At least a dragon human hybrid.

The world he had been born to was very much like an mmorpg. To some degree, Rick thought it had been heaven, or more like Hell. But in reality, it was neither of those. It was an isolated world with its own gods. Gods who ruled with a system that was morally not on par with Earths morals. They fell short and had very low views of life. Like those researchers who would watch a lion eat a baby elk. Those gods lacked sympathy and love for life. These people did temple prostitution, and the gods accepted it as a valid offering. It made Rick sick how they degraded themselves. Hurting themselves in ways they were too ignorant of noticing.

Rick and his party managed to start an item/potion shop. They made it big due to their ranked up skills. Then they went on to defeat the evil gods by the order of a rightious goddess. Despite achieving his goals in that medevil like world. Rick missed his homeworld. He missed logging into his gaming pc and going on bing. Hell, people made fun of him for using it, be he didn't care. There was always something comforting about using the computer. The internet was a world of endless possibilities.

Rick finished brewing the spicy tea. Hot steam floated up from the kettle. The aroma was hot, sort of like pumpkin spice, but a tad spicey. He poured some to Bobo, his sister, her smile determined his success. If she wasn't happy, then he wasn't satisfied.

"Stella?" Bobo asked.

"What is it?" Rick replied.

"Why do you think the Goddess left us here? She promised we could go home if we killed the other gods." Bobo made a frown and Rick felt mild agitation.

Rick was willing to hunt the Goddess if it would make Bobo happy. There was a reason for Rick's goal. In Bobo's past life. He used to be a guy who lived in Japan. He had worked himself to death, never having had a chance to actually enjoy his life. Having died of a heart attack while in his office after hours.

Rick dreaded that and made it his goal to make his life happy. Even despite the fact they were both reincarnated as dragon girls. His suffering here made him get over being a female real quick.

"I'll make the Goddess remember." Rick said.

But in the instant he said that. A bright light flashed under Rick. Bobo leaped out of her chair and grabbed Rick by the arm.

He wasn't surpised at that. Bobo did promise if one of them were to die, they'd die together. Being the only two from Earth made them closer than siblings. Rick agreed to those terms. Then, they both vanished in a split second.

They both found themselves in the exact same postion, but they were on a rooftop. Completely confused by the new and yet familiar scenery. Large office buildings slightly lower than the building they were on.

"My name is Dale, I summoned you here..theres no time to explain." An armored man said. His armor was blood red and his guantlet seemed to smoke in a ghostly way. By his side was a tiny fox girl with an orange tail larger than her body.

"Is this Earth?" Rick's eyes were wide.

"This is Earth!" Bobo jumped excitedly.

The smile she made was the most lively Rick had ever seen in their entire reincarnated lives.

"Wow, you guys know Earth? We'll we're in trouble, if we don't stop those. We're royally fucked.." Dale said as he pointed up.

The three fireballs were falling fast. All three aimed right at Arkenfel. They looked like smokey red meteors, even leaving a smokey trail behined them.

Dale managed to score well. Two summons for the price of one, but he doubted the two girls were strong. They looked a tad too young. But then again, Senko did prove that looks weren't everything for summoned heroes.

"Those are huge…I don't know if there's any way to stop them." Rick said.

"I'm sorry..truth is. We might actually die here today." Dale said.

"I'm not going to die! Stop talking like that…you need to be more confident." Senko said.

"Well, I just see things for what they are.." Dale argued back.

"They call that being pessimistic..it really isn't healthy. This might sound stupid, but we might be able to change their course. If we still have our power that is." Rick said.

"What are your names?" Dale asked.

"My name is Stella, but you can call me Rick too. This here is Bobo." Rick said.

"Alright Stella..what do you have in mind?" Dale asked. He looked up at the three falling balls of fire. His gut felt like it churned at the sight.

"I can fire my charged shots. I killed three gods with that attack. But I can only use it three times…so don't crucify me if it doesn't work or I miss." Stella said with a worried expression.

"I won't get angry..I think beggars can't be choosers at this point." Dale said.

"You're right..I'll do my best."

"Hey Zilla, standby. When they land. Kill them as quickly as possible. If they gang up on you, it'll be tough." Dale said aloud.

"Zilla?…anyways, yes Master Kilo." She replied.

"Who are you talking to?" Stella asked.

"Ah, its my first summon. A giant girl…its hard to explain." Dale said rubbing his helmet.

Stella made a confused expression.

"Yeah, give me the details later…no hurry." She said with a raised brow.

"Master, Kilo? If you ride me, you could control my cannons..if you want..but I'm sure you have a plan." Zilla said.

Dale's jaw nearly dropped at that. He still didn't know anything about Zilla. The only reason she cooperated was because she thought he was some dude named Kilo. Who the Hell was Kilo? Dale wondered.

"O.K, I'll meet you at the harbor." He said.

Stella and bobo had her arms out before them. A large glowing pentagram floated in front of them.

"Alright Dale! I'm firing all tree shots!"

"I'll support!" Bobo shouted.

"I'll leave it too you. If things get bad, just run. I don't want your blood on my hands." Dale said.

"Right." Stella said.

Dale jumped off the building and aimed at the building before him. It hooked on like Peter Parker's web slinging. He made it half way when a loud thunder crackled in the sky. Dale stopped above a building and glanced up at the sky. A bright blue beam had fired and hit one of the falling kaijus. The monster looked like an exploded ball of smoke and fire. Burning peices flying everywhere in the sky. They would land and possibly kill people, but that beat the whole thing falling at once. Another beam fired into the sky, but it missed. Dale noticed the beam would just stop at a certain point in the sky. He wasn't sure if Stella was being conservative or the shot wasn't strong enough to reach the atmosphere. Dale continued jumping from building to building. He saw the buildings glitter with the light of the third shot, but he wasn't going to stop. This time he didn't hear a cackle like the first shot. That meant the last two shots missed.

Dale bit his lip. A few minutes later he reached the harbor. Zilla was in the water. Her armor's spikes were partially out if the water. Glowing sharp green.

"Hey Kilo!" She said telepathically. Dale wondered if she spoke aloud, if it'd be too loud. He also found it weird how she could hear his voice aloud, but not his thoughts.

"Hey…should I get on now?" Dale asked.

He studied her armor. It basically floated above her body. Almost like an exo suit. Her body was slender in proportion.

"Just hop on the back plate." She said.

One of the spikes on her back shifted into a platform. Then part of her exo suit detached her her side. Revealing a large gun.

Dale took a deep breath and aimed his wrist at it.

"Rider mounting in progress. Rider identity confirmed." The helmets A.I stated. The whip lashed out and hooked onto the platform. It pulled him to it and it just threw him against it. His shoulder hit the wall and pain shot through his shoulder.

"The Hell! That hurt." Dale said.

"What? Did you forget how to mount? Thats how trainees do it…are you feeling alright Kilo?" She giggled.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Let's go." Dale said.

The platform had a video feed of the cannons view. It even had a joystick like crystal that controlled the cannon. Every time he aimed it at Zilla, it would give him a warning. Locking the mechanism from firing.

"I think this is east enougj." Dale whispered.

A kaiju landed with a thuderous crackle near a civilian area. A few office buildings began to callapse nearby. Dale's heart felt like it sank. That was too close to his parent's house. At that point they could be dead or in danger.

"Alright. Let's go!" Dale shouted.

Zilla began swimming along the coast. Her movement made water flood the coast of the land. It made Dale cringe at how much damage it was cuasing, but he jaded his mind by prioritizing lives over collateral damage.

They made it to a certain point where they would cause the least amount of damage. Zilla stepped on the beach. She struggled to move for a second as the water rushed off her armor.

"So heavy…thats why I hate swimming." She said.

"It'll be alright..don't push yourself too hard." Dale said.

"Ooh..the sand feels so good though.." she said.

A loud screech echoed throughout the city. It was awake and it was ready to fight. So much for catching it off gaurd, Dale thought.

"Alright. Let's do this!" Zilla bent her kneese and charged forward.

Dale kept his gun foward. He was nervous and he's never felt so scared in his life. Each step Zilla took, shook his platform. That alone felt painful. Maybe this was it. He'd die a hero trying to save his home. The people. That'd be the best way to go, he thought.

Senko, Stella, Bobo, and Zilla. Meeting them was like a dream. Something you could only desprately hope and cry for, but never get.

The kaiju looked like a massive beetle or some kind of screwed up crab. It had scythe like hands and mechanicle turrets on its head. It's large eyes locked onto Dale and Zilla.

Dale aimed at the kaiju and pulled the trigger.
