By having fun together, time passes faster for the group. We meet shortly after lunchtime, the trio eat at the tavern as usual. But Asteri noticed that Shallistera was giving him a strange look the whole time he was at the table. To specify, it was a shy look, as if she was hiding something, but Asteri didn't know what. He decided to let it go.
"I was thinking of going to the blacksmith in town, I want to ask him about things. What are you going to do?" Asteri told the two girls.
"Mhhh I'll take a tour of the city, just for fun." Allatù says.
"I am accompanying Allatu, I have not yet had the opportunity to visit Quisque well and I want to take advantage of these two days". Betty was curious to visit the city of adventurers. She will then accompany Allatu.
"Okay, then we'll meet again tonight, have fun for me too." Asteri greeted them with a smile.
So they parted, the girls began to visit the city, and Asteri headed to the blacksmith.
'I want to try to change this sword, and I also want to try to ask for a favor.' Asteri was thinking in his mind.
After a few minutes of walking he reached the blacksmith's shop. From the outside you could hear the clang of the hammer hitting the anvil.
'This is ... rather nostalgic.' with those noises the memories that he had spent with his father in the village came back to his mind. Asteri closed his eyes and a small smile formed between his lips. But immediately the face of that demon appeared.
'I will, sooner or later I will kill the red bastard.' Asteri had long ago promised to take revenge on Pólemos. After a few seconds of those thoughts, he recovered and entered the forge. The forge was a shop divided into two parts. The first part is where the blacksmith receives customers and where some of his creations are exhibited. And the other part of the forge is where the blacksmith is most of his time doing his work. As soon as he entered the shop, there were sounds of bells that warned of the entrance of a customer.
"Excuse me." Asteri said as he entered.
The door that connects the first part of the shop to the second opens and a dwarf comes out. It was known by now that the dwarves were adept at forging, mining and building very solid buildings, it is said that a fortress built by the dwarves can last hundreds, if not thousands of years, without maintenance.
"But look who sees himself again, the boy from the last time. This is our second meeting, if I'm not mistaken." the dwarf greeted Asteri with great confidence, having already seen him once.
"Yes, this is the second time, it amazes me that you remember me." Asteri says, not believing that the dwarf recognized him.
"Obviously boy, it's my job after all to remind me of all my clients. Duqnue what do you need?" the dwarf got straight to the point.
"Oh sure, I wanted to ask you what your best sword was." Asteri wanted to know what the quality of the dwarf blacksmith's best sword was.
"Best sword I can offer you? Hahaha I have one right here." the dwarf laughed and went back to the other side of the shop.
'Who knows what sword will it be?' Asteri was curious about the dwarf's skill in forging weapons.
"Here she is." the dwarf returned with an object in his hands. This object was covered with a red cloth, with gold embroidery. Asteri had to admit it was a nice fabric.
'From the shape of the fabric, the object inside is definitely a sword.' reflects in his mind. As the dwarf places the item on the counter, moving the cloth to reveal the sword inside.
"Here it is, for now my greatest achievement, a sword in pure mithril steel, a mineral from my homeland. In this world it is the hardest and lightest steel there is." the dwarf explains what the sword was made of. It was a very clean steel, you could reflect yourself in its blade, the pommel of the sword seemed to be made entirely of gold, with a ruby in the center.
'Seems like an appropriate sword for daddy's kids.' Asteri didn't question that this was a great sword, but he didn't give it a special feeling.
"It is very nice, its blade seems balanced and thick at the right point. This gives you a great advantage in the fights, it is the pommel although golden, it feels comfortable to hold. How much does it cost?" Asteri examined the sword and asked for its cost.
"That's ten platinum coins." as soon as the dwarf revealed the cost, Asteri's heart almost jumped out of his chest.
'Ten coins of platinum ?! which is equivalent to a thousand gold coins. "It was known that in Azioth one hundred bronze coins form a silver coin. One hundred silver coins form a gold coin. And finally, one hundred gold coins form a platinum coin.
"I understand, I understand that it costs a lot, after all the material it is made of is not on the street. But I'm sorry I don't have a lot of money, I just wanted to ask the cost and see for myself a mithril steel sword." Asteri apologized to the owner for not being able to buy his sword.
"No problem boy, I know it can be hard to get all that money without a big legacy behind it, but if you want there are other items here that might be within your reach." proposed the dwarf, placing his sword back in the silk cloth.
"True, I'll take a look around for now." Asteri leaves the counter to see the dwarf's wares. It obviously varied between armor and weapons that the boy was curious to see.
'Will I find a weapon that impresses me?' Asteri wonders in his mind.
