I nearly dropped the guitar I was holding when the light, lilting voice seemingly came out of nowhere. I thought I was alone in the practice room, which was why I was lost in the moment and letting out all my recent fears and frustrations on the guitar. My fingertips were numb, and the song was still echoing in my head, but the heaviness inside my chest, which was mostly the fault of the boy who had just interrupted me, was still there, nearly crushing me.
