The Wolf prowling across dimensions by Pandora's Reader

 Highschool of the Dead & My Hero Academia/僕のヒーローアカデミア Xover Rated: M, English, Family & Adventure, [OC, Rika M., Shizuka M., Saeko B.], Words: 820k+, Favs: 1k+, Follows: 1k+, Published: Nov 17, 2021 Updated: Nov 9 779Chapter 71: The family grows

P-reon - Pandoras_Supporter and all that.

A new milestone at 806 favorites, and 896 follows, nice. I never really expected for this story to get so big and long, heh, but it has, so that's cool. Anyway, here ya go.

Kiriko in the harem. I'm not really sure. We're already at 5, which, sure, it's an uneven number that's kinda awkward to work with, but I don't know. In a later chapter, I end up introducing someone else I feel like I'd want to join the harem, but I'm still unsure. When I get there, I might just make a poll, and let you all decide.

VoiceOfReason - Good point. And I followed through, so now Fenrir states it's once per species. Though I have it so exceptions are a thing, but won't be made that often. Quirks are an exception, and I'll explain why in a later chapter.

Dragon Slayer - I was originally going to pass on Overhaul, but that gave me an idea, so it'll end up happening eventually during this arc.

Dakota - Oh the universe is going to be used all right, just not in the traditional sense.

Anyway, let's a gooo.

{Maccillian's POV 3 hours later}

The girls' conversation was an amusing one, but one I tuned out after a while. When I tuned back in, the sun was already down, and we were just taking in the night and the cool breeze. Shizuka was still content with playing with my fur, which Hestia was also doing as she used my back like a pillow, while Rika, Saeko, and Kiriko were doing their own thing.

'Their own thing' was Kiriko and Rika sparring with spears, while Saeko refereed. In technique and experience, Kiriko still had Rika beat, but with her new stats, Rika made up for that. Lili had come back a half hour after Kiriko brought up the topic of our sexcipades, and just chilled with us.

Though, that wasn't the reason I tuned back in. The kids, and Athena, came back, and everyone aside from Saya, looked amused. Saya herself just looked embarrassed, and it was interesting. Kiriko and Rei stopped sparring when they got back, and everyone formed up. "Hey Smarts, what's up with you?"

Saya huffed, and looked away. Seeing that, Rika raised a brow, and turned to the others. Athena had a proud smile on her face, Kohta was still fucking with Ember Cecilia, while Rei and Takashi were grinning at Saya. Rei even went so far as to nudge Saya, with a playful grin on her face. "Yeah 'Smarts' what's up? Is our resident super genius THAT emb...-" A small Nevermore appeared above Rei's head, and started pecking. "AGH!" She tried to swat it away, and did.

Only for another one to replace it moments later. Rei squeaked, then started running away as one turned to two, and two to four. We all watched as Rei started running in circles, trying to avoid the growing swarm of Nevermore... "Alright... So... That's happening." I hummed at Hestia's summary of things, and decided to start getting up. Shizuka pouted as I did, and Hestia hung on a little tighter since I was suddenly moving. "Oook! I'm good!" Chuckling at that, I padded the roof for a bit, getting my legs ready to go, and lose whatever soreness was there.

When I was done, I noticed everyone was looking at me, and barked. 'We going yet?' The story about what made Saya so embarrassed could come later, I kinda wanted to go to our next world now.

Looking at each other, I saw the HOTD group look excited, while the the rest of the girls looked ready.

They then turned back to me, and nodded. Taking that as their answer, I returned the nod, and angled my head up to Hestia. 'You gonna get off?' I didn't mind if she did or didn't, just had to ask.

She hummed, then shook her head. "Don't wanna. Just shift back, I'll be fine." Shrugging, I did just that, and shifted. Hestia held on, and after the shift was done, she put her head on mine, and hummed. "Told you."

I hummed at that, and reached up to pat her head. She huffed at that, and probably pouted too, but I smiled. "So you did." Turning back to the others, I smirked. "You sure your all ready?" Another round of nods were their answer. "Alright! Time to go back to the future!" Saya and Rika snorted at that, telling they were the only ones that got that joke, but it was whatever.

After everyone lined up, I mentally focused on my jump ability, which froze time again, and selected My Hero.

My claws grew, and after tearing a hole in fucking space, I opened the portal. The sun was out, and it looked like it was early in the morning. Aside from that, the view reminded me of being somewhere high up, so it looked like we were going to be on a tall building for this one.

Anyway, with it open, I looked at my pack, and gestured to the portal. "You know the drill." My girls went through first, they had to follow a cheering Shizuka who shouted 'superherooo's!' While she dragged Lili across the portal, but that was neither here nor there.

Saya and Athena followed after her, and after they went through, I heard Athena suck in a breath, then whisper, "Fascinating." After them were Rika and Saeko, both of them looking interested about the future.

Next were Takashi and Rei, the former was being dragged by Rei, as she was cheering just as loudly as Shizuka was. "THE FUTURE IS NOOOW!" I snorted at that, and looked over to the last two.

Kohta was looking at the portal interest in his eyes, while Kiriko just shrugged, and walked through. Kohta followed in after that, leaving just me and Hestia. I looked up at her, and met her gaze. She'd gotten better while we waited, but I just wanted to make sure. My little goddess met my gaze, and smiled at me. I got the message, and after a smile back, turned to my portal, and walked through.

-Somewhere in Musutafu-

When I made it through, and my portal closed, I felt the usual restrictions come into place, and hummed as I checked my stats.

Taking that in, I shrugged, and felt Hestia shake on my back. "That's so weiiird." There was a round of agreements coming from everyone else, except Athena.

Athena just looked absolutely ecstatic, and was doing her 'Jibril' face. "I think it's wonderful. An influx of knowledge pertaining to this and future worlds is an invaluable tool. One that I can't wait to expand upon!" She was shaking in excitement, and I was moderately worried. An Athena with a knowledge boner is a scary Athena.

Thankfully, Saya poked Athena's shoulder, and got her goddess under control. "We can go crazy later. First, we need to find out where we are, when we are, find somewhere to set up a base, and go from there." That snapped Athena out of it, and she nodded.

"Ah, you're correct my dear. Knowledge can wait... For now." We all heard that, and chose to ignore it.

The 'horny' goddess aside, the kids, and my girls, were looking at the landscape, and I heard Rika whistle. "It might not be THAT different, but the future's looking good." I, and Hestia by proxy, went to join the others, and look out at the landscape. We were on a high rise, it was at least 80 floors high, so we could see pretty much everything. And like Rika said, it looked nice. Without a zombie apocalypse to fuck things up, nothing was wrecked, and it was just pretty much still Japan. I was going to say something, but then Rika paused, and looked over to me. Her eyes narrowed, and she folded her arms. "By the way... Is there anyone we should go save RIGHT NOW?" Ah, that.

Because of the whole thing with Haruhime, Rika and the girls agreed that if there was someone we SHOULD help, then we'd go do it before they NEEDED to be helped. It didn't apply to everyone/thing, only people that deserved to be helped. (Let's see... If we run into Toga, and she's not in the league yet, maybe. Twice is funny, but not really necessary. Dabi is eh. The walking delete button is a no. So, them aside... Maybe Kota's parents? Eh, if we run into em, maybe. Best bet would be just offing Muscular, but we'd need to find em first. Them aside, who ne...- Oh... OH. OH!) I grinned at my thought, and thanks to my still sky high WIS, I knew where she was. I looked at my pack. They all met my gaze, and I could tell they were interested. "Who wants to go fuck with the Yakuza, and save a little girl?"

Everyone blinked, and surprisingly, the first one to respond was Kiriko. She had this excited grin on her face, and her tail was going mach speeds. "Point the way Maccillian." After Kiriko, everyone else showed they were ready, so I turned in the direction of the Yakuza compound, and shifted.

Hestia made sure she wasn't going to fall off, and kicked my sides. "Onwards my child! To the little girl!" I rolled my eyes at that, but ran anyway. With aura platforms under me, I, and the rest of the pack, ran through the air, towards our destination.

(I'm not sure if they're there yet, but even if they aren't, there should be a scent trail, or something. All we need is something, and we'll get Eri... Eri... Fuck it, we're probably adopting her... Welp, that'll be interesting.) I didn't exactly mind adopting Eri, she had my hair, sorta, and a brighter version of Rika's eyes. Hell, I could probably say she's my kid, and no one would bat an eye... Huh... (Whatever. I'll think more about this later. Find her first.) And with that decided, I focused on running.

Though as I ran, I had a thought. (Am I technically kidnapping her? Is that going to be a trend?) I didn't know, and I kinda didn't care. I had a daughter to acquire.

{Eri's POV 2 hours later.}

"Hmm... One more session should be enough for today... We have yet to go through the limbs from our last session yet... So all we'll need is some blood for now." The bad man looked around the room, and grabbed another vile. When he had it, he turned his empty eyes to me, and I knew what was coming next. "Now then, hold still." His hand came closer, and I just stayed still.

It would be over soon.

It's just one more session.

Just one more time.

He said it, and the bad man always did what he said he would.

I saw and felt him cut into me with the small knife, and pretended the pain wasn't there. Pretended that I wasn't hurting.

But it wasn't working. It hurt. But crying didn't do anything. It would just make the bad man mad.

And I didn't want to see the bad man be mad... He'd just make it worse.

The bad man took my blood, then when the vial was full, he put the lid on it and hummed. "Good. That's enough for today." He handed it to one of the other masked people, and looked at me. His hand was coming closer, but I didn't move. I couldn't move.

Then his hand stopped on my head, and he looked at me. "That's a good girl Eri. We'll see you tomorrow." I didn't say anything or nod. The bad man always said that, and he always did come tomorrow.

It was just going to happen.

And there was nothing I could do about it.

The bad man and the other masked person left my room, and the lights turned back off.

Leaving me alone.

In my room... I wanted to was the only thing I could do, and no one ever stopped me from crying...

I grabbed my pillow, tried to cover my ears, and tried to shut it all out. My room was quiet and dark, so I could pretend to be somewhere else. It was the only thing that helped me feel better.

To pretend I was sitting on a cloud... My bed didn't feel like a cloud though... And the rain wasn't coming from my bed either.

I didn't know how long I laid there, I didn't know how to tell time, so it didn't matter anyway.

But after a while, I could hear something happening. It sounded like a bunch of things falling and hitting the ground. There were even some bangs too, but I didn't know what those were from.

I heard it all, but I didn't pay too much attention to it. I wanted to hope, to hope someone would come save me.

But my brain didn't. (It'll go away soon. It always does.)

But it didn't.

I could hear the sounds coming closer.

I looked up, and started staring at the door. A part of my mind starting getting hopeful. Started thinking that someone was here to save me.

But the rest of my brain didn't agree with it. (No one's going to save us. No one ever will.) As long as the bad man was here, we were trapped.

But for some reason, I kept staring at the door. Kept listening to the thumping as it got louder.

As it got closer.

And even when there were more sounds, shouts, and other noises, the thumping kept getting closer.

And finally, after who knew how long... The thumping stopped.

Right in front of my door.

A door that was ripped off its hinges.

Seeing that, I blinked, and just kept staring. But not at the door... At the people that came in.

The people not wearing masks.

The first one was a big man with silverish gray hair, (It almost looks like mine.) Hetero... Something? Eyes. A slit silver and black one. He had muscles, and these big scars on him... But also dog? Ears, and a tail... (Cute...)

Then there was the blonde lady. She had the ears and tail too. She even had a really big chest... (Are they... Are they supposed to be that big?) I didn't know. There were never any girls with the masked people, or bad man. The woman had nice eyes, and a smile on her face.

And the last one was someone without the ears or tail the first two had. She was short, had long black hair... A... Dress? I didn't know what she was wearing... But it showed off her chest. She wore the same look the blonde did.

When the women saw me, they shared a look between themselves, and nodded after a bit. Then, they started walking towards me. I didn't know who they were, or what they wanted, so I thought about hiding. (But there was nowhere to hide.) That made me stop. There was nowhere to hide, and they were already here. So even if I tried to hide... It'd be pointless.

So I just stayed there, watching as they came towards me. They both started glowing a little, and the golden light was pretty.

When they made it to me, they crouched down, and both reached out to me. But this was different.

I didn't feel scared when they did it.

And when they reached me, they brought me close, and... Held me. I didn't know what to do.

This never happened before.

But even when I didn't know what was happening, they just held me, and spoke softly. "It's ok little one. You're safe now." I didn't know who said that, but it was like magic.

I melted into the... Hug... I was sure that's what this was, and melted into them. They were warm.

And safe.

They held me in their arms, and I only looked up when I heard steps coming over to us.

That's when I met the eyes of the big man. He crouched down by the nice ladies sides, and I watched as he slowly raised his hand. He wasn't going too fast or too slow. I trailed his hand the whole time, and when it landed on top of my head, I blinked. It felt a little rough, but it was warm, and nice.

Then he spoke. "Welcome to the family, Eri." Family?

{Maccillian's POV}

Seeing Eri's face turn into one of pure confusion was hilarious. Seeing her in person though, a part of my mind, the part that I've realized were my protective instincts, were getting pissed. It was the thought of picturing Lili, hell, even Ruby like that, bandages all over her, the scent of blood still in the room, that were making me consider using a super Gaster Blaster on the whole building.

Though ruffling Eri's hair, and seeing her melt into Shizuka and Hestia's hug, helped keep that thought at ba...- "Silver." I looked at Shizuka.

Her tail was slowly swaying, in a way we could all recognize, and she turned to me. Her eyes were cold, and I had an idea about what she wanted to say. "Break whoever did this."

(Well then, protective instincts have been given the go.) I nodded, and she smiled as she turned back to Eri. The little cinnamon roll was just blinking between us, and didn't do anything else. Shizuka had gone back to warm and cuddly after giving me the ok, so Eri wasn't freaking the fuck out. "Alright. By the way, you two gonna take her out anytime soon? I doubt she wants to stay HERE."

That got them. Hestia and Shizuka shared a look, and after a quick game of rock-paper-scissors, Hestia picked up Eri, who was surprised at the move, and stood up. My goddess gave me a look after she stared at Eri's bandages, and I was surprised that she shared Shizuka's coldness. "Make it hurt when you do it."

Blinking at her, I took a second to nod, but smiled after I did. With a bow, the ones you see butlers do, I gave Hestia a grin. "As mo bhandia commands." That got her to smile, and after one more head ruffle for Eri, who while still confused, ate it up.

I already had a trail on Overhaul, since he was in the room earlier and his scent was all around the compound, so I didn't have to try hard to follow the trail.

Leaving the room, I made sure I had his trail, and shifted when I did. [Big daddy to all not daddies, anyone find a lanky guy in a purple fur coat and bird mask?]

~Zaka... Just... Why?~ I snorted at the sheer annoyance in Saya's tone, and kept running.

[Because I can. Anyway, updates people.] I heard some sighs, but ignored em.

~Well for me, the answer is no. Anyone else?~

~Uhhh... No? There's this guy ranting about fighting though... I don't know how long mom and him have been going at it... Anyway, no from the cavalry.~

~Very mini me, Gun nut and I got em in our sights Silver. Want us to take em out?~ There we go.

[Nah. I've been given the go ahead to 'break' him.] I heard a snort from Rika at that.

~Ok Bane.~ Rolling my eyes at that, and ignoring Rei's snickering, I ran towards Overhaul.

I didn't think the first thing we did when we got to the MHA universe was raid the Yakuza, but I didn't mind how it was turning out. I had adopted Eri... (Jesus Jojo Christ. Am I going to be collecting a family every world I go too?) That thought almost made me pause, but I shook it off, and decided to think on it later.

Anyway, that aside, I kept going, and noticed I was about to make it to the source.

Ahead of me was a reinforced door, probably a bunker in case something like this happened. Quickly checking my Minimap, I saw three blips, and internally nodded. (Time to make an entrance.) I shifted, coated my body in aura, and ran. "DYNAMIC!" Jumping with my leg out. "ENTRY!" I crashed through the door like a badass!

And was immediately almost skewered by spears made of the floor or walls. Not that they would've gotten through my aura, because they wouldn't.

The spears cracked and broke against my aura, and I looked around the room as they did.

I saw Overhaul, no way I could ever mistake him for anyone else, and his goons. There was the 'Chrono' guy, and someone I didn't know. So he probably wasn't important.

Ignoring those two for now, I started making my way to Overhaul, ignoring the pikes, bullets, and gre... "Is that a grenade?" It blew up in my face, so the answer was yes. I coughed a bit since my mouth was open, and I swallowed some shrapnel on accident.

There was also the smoke, but it was mostly the shrapnel. I felt it get caught in my throat, so I focused my fire, as well as I could with the restriction on it, into my throat. The metal melted, and the molten metal evaporated before it reached my stomach.

That taken care of, I tuned back into Overhaul, and saw him scowling at me. "You're all the same. All so ta...-" Yeah, no.

Raising gravity around me to 5x, I saw Overhaul and his goons slam into the ground. Though I made sure his hands didn't touch the floor. "See, we don't do that here. The only person that gets to monologue is me. And even I hardly do that shit." Overhaul grunted, and tried to break out of my gravity, but he wasn't going to manage that. So, taking a step forward, then crouching down in front of him, I looked Overhaul in the eyes, and grinned. "So, he...-" The Chrono guy shouted something, and I looked over at him.

He started bulking up, and I blinked. "Ok..." Raised the gravity up to 10x, and his resistance became futile. Turning back to Overhaul, who was trying to murder me with his eyes, I hummed. "Anyway. I'm supposed to break you. So I shall commence the breaking." With that said, I brought my claws out, and slit my wrist.

Overhauls eyes widened at the action, but before any blood could come from it, my wrist healed... "Ok... Ignore that attempt." I couldn't lower my Regeneration so I was kinda in a predicament here... Taking a look back, and checking my Minimap, I made sure Rika wasn't in the room. When I confirmed she wasn't, I turned back to overhaul, and chopped off my arm.

That did it.

As my arm flopped onto his head, and healed back in under a second, I grinned as he started squirming. Or, trying too atleast. I remembered him having a whole germs condition, and decided to exploit it.

Seeing the way his skin broke out in hives as my blood soaked his back and face, I'll admit, it was kinda satisfying. (Saeko's tendencies are rubbing off on me. I swear that's what it is.) I liked fucking with people, and 'breaking' someone didn't ALWAYS have to be in a physical way.

Though, after a bit, I kinda got bored. You can only watch a guy freak the fuck out for so long before it gets old after all.

So after making aura fists above Chrono, and the other guys head, I dropped them down and popped their heads like watermelons. I had my aura keep the gore off of me, but Overhaul didn't have that luxury.

He REALLY didn't like that.

Oh well. I swear, his glare was practically a weapon of its own.

But again, too bad it didn't do shit.

I was about to say something, a taunt about him being grounded, maybe the threat of shifting and pissing on him, but I heard an explosion underneath me, and paused. [Uhhh... What was that?]

~Sorry uncle Za! Mom got suplexed into the ground.~ I blinked again, and decided to move on. Because how funny that thought was, I was busy.

[It's fine cavalry... Did you record it?]

I could feel the smirk on her face. ~Oh yeah.~

~~[Nice.]~~ Me, Rika, and Saya.

~... Uncle Za?~ I was getting familiar with this tone.

[Yes cavalry?]

~Can we keep this 'Rappa' guy?~ Blinking, I think we were ALL caught off guard by that question.

[Why?]

~He's kinda fun. And mom and him have been... I don't know... Bonding? It's weird now that I say it, but they are... Even Takashi likes him.~ I didn't know what the fuck was going on anymore.

~Rei... Is Kiriko a masochist or something?~ That comment from Saya made all chatter pause, and I could swear I heard Rei start choking downstairs. But she didn't stop there. ~We've all got kinks, that's unavoidable. But even SAEKO knows when to have fun, and when to delete somebody.~ I snorted at that, and blinked when I heard another one from behind me.

Turning around, I saw Saeko standing in the doorway, amused at the conversation, and taking in my handiwork. ~I wouldn't exactly put it THAT way, but Saya does have a point. Especially after my progress with my tendencies.~ After saying that, she started walking over to me, and tilted her head as she looked at Overhaul. "So this is the man that hurt our daughter?" I mentally hummed at the fact she'd already claimed Eri as a daughter. Her face slowly turned into a sneer as she looked down on, and placed her foot on the base of his neck. "How pathetic." Overhaul started growling at Saeko, but it was all useless.

~... ANYWAY! Can we keep him?~ Saeko and I shared a look at that, and she gave me a shrug.

[Put it to a vote?] Silence for a bit, but after a few seconds of waiting, we got responses.

~Athena and I don't care. Well, I don't, she'd rather not meet the guy. 'A meathead? Ugh. How uncultured.' Were her exact words.~ A collective snort rang through my mind, and I rolled my eyes.

~I don't give a damn. As long as he doesn't try to hurt our girls, you're free to do whatever you want.~

~Hestia and I don't mind. But if he tries to hurt our babies, I'll end him.~ Sharing another look at that, it was Saeko's turn to respond.

~I wouldn't mind a native to spar with.~ And that was her answer.

With it all said, I nodded. [Ok. Guess we're taking Kendo with us.] I didn't mind, I actually liked the guy. We were both fist fighters, and with his enjoyment for fighting, he'd probably mesh well with me and Saeko. He was already 'bonding' with Kiriko, whatever the hell that meant, so she was a no brainer.

I heard Rei cheer, both in my mind, and downstairs, and zoned back into Overhaul. "So. We're taking Kendo with us." His glare didn't intensify, but I think he started snarling. "Anyway." Turning to Saeko. "Wanna break his bones or something for a bit?" She blinked, started humming, and after a bit, took her foot off his neck.

"I think I'll go spend more time with our new daughter. I'd rather she not see me coated in blood on our second meeting." Made sense.

"Kay. Have fun." She smiled, and after a quick kiss, left the room.

Now, it was just me and Overhaul. And I didn't really know what to do with him. Sure I liked freaking him out, but unless I wanted to go up a stage, and piss on him in Gray wolf form, I was kinda lost on how to deal with him. Killing him normally would just be anti-climactic, and I didn't want that.

So after thinking for a bit, I decided to go for something. His quirk was good, and even if I might never use it, was something I shouldn't pass up. So, I reached out to his arm, and used just the right amount of force, to tear it off. He screamed in pain, which was kinda nice to hear, and I brought the arm to my face. "Hmm..." Taking off the sleeve, and using my flames to burn off the arm hairs, I looked at it, and thought about this. Aside from Ottar, who didn't REALLY cont since I chomped him in TOTW form, I'd never eaten people. A part of me was curious, another part of me kinda didn't want too, and another just didn't give a shit. So, I looked at it for a bit more, then took a bite. Doing it in front of Overhaul was amusing, even if I had to play up how much I liked it. Human was 3/10, I didn't really want to try again. When I was down to his fingers, I got the prompt, and stopped chewing on his arm.

[Status]

Fenrir activation conditions met.

Choose - [Trait - Overhaul - Diss and Reassembly of anything host lays their hands on.]

That was it. I still picked it mind you, but the fact he only had one option was kind of pathetic. "You know, you're kinda shit." He let out a snarl of pure hate, but I ignored it. With his ability taken, I wasn't sure what to do with him, so after humming for a bit, I decided to ask the others. [Ideas on the funnest way to kill Overhaul. Go.]

There was a silence for a bit, probably because that was random, but they started speaking up after they got over it. ~Who's up for an explosion? Say I.~ You have three guesses who said that.

~~~~I.~~~~ Huh...
[I guess he's exploding then. Let me know when you girls get to the rooftops.] They all agreed, and I let Overhaul float up after removing his gravity, and tethering him to me. With my balloon secured, I started heading on up, through the ceiling, and made my way up to the roof.
When I was there, I sat on the edge, and waited for the others. Though I could already see Rika, Lili, and Kohta. They were coming my way when I blinked, and stared at my daughter.
Now, if you're curious as to why... When they got to me, and I realized I wasn't hallucinating, I looked at Rika. "Sealgair..." She looked completely unrepentant. "Why does Lili have an Anti Tank Rifle?" Because yes... My daughter had an aura ATR strapped onto her back, suppressor and everything. And the fucking thing was longer then she was tall. Yes it made a funny image, but I could laugh at it afterwards.
Rika shared a look with Kohta and Lili, then looked back to me. "Don't tell me you don't like it." I blinked.
"I do. It's hilarious really... Just... Why?"
Rika was about to answer, but then Kohta spoke up. "Seeing a short girl with an Anzio 20mm was too good for either of us to pass up, sir!" Did I mention he saluted as he answered? Because he did. Though, now I knew who made the damn thing.
We all, minus Overhaul, looked at him at that. He didn't have one ounce of shame or embarrassment in admitting that, and I had to respect that. "Good enough." Looking over to my daughter, I saw her holding the gun in front of her, I didn't notice when she swung it to the front, and saw the look in her eyes, and on her face.
She looked both smug, and happy. "Lili REALLY likes this gun Papa... Like... REALLY likes it." I gave her a look, then decided to just rub her head and let her have it. Her tail was wagging up a storm at my pat, and it was nice. "Hehehe Lili wins!" Rika and I snorted at that, while Kohta relaxed, and chuckled.
When we were like this, it was easy to forget there was a literal Yakuza boss floating around next to us.
After I was done petting Lili, the sound of steps brought us all towards the source. Said source were Saeko, Hestia and Shizuka. The latter was carrying Eri in her arms. I saw Lili look at Eri, and not even a half second passed before I saw her accept Eri. (Good. No drama is the best drama.)
Anyway, with them here, Eri saw Overhaul floating. The moment she did, she shrunk into Shizuka, and started shaking like a leaf. We all frowned at that, and turned to Overhaul. "Silver, can you make a box for him or something?" I hummed at that, and let my aura take form around him. One person sized cube later, and Overhaul was out of sight.
Looking over to Eri, we saw Shizuka and Hestia comforting her, and managed to get her to see he was gone. She stared at the box though, because even though she couldn't see him, she still knew he was there. Good thing though, she stopped shaking a bit, and settled for light tremors... Which was kind of fucked up that I considered that a good thing.
Though before I, or anyone could bring it up, Saya and Athena had made it to the roof... And Athena was giving Saya a pout that could end the strongest of resistances. Though we all knew why. The moment Athena had gone over the knowledge from our jump, she looked absolutely RAVENOUS.
Hell, if Saya hadn't held her back, she would've robbed the nearest computer store... And I mean that almost literally.
Athena wanted knowledge... And she wanted ALL of it.
Anyway, after them were Rei, Kiriko and Takashi. The former was all smiles, and gave me a wave, then blurred over to Shizuka's side the moment she saw Eri. As for Takashi and Kiriko, they were carrying Kendo on their shoulders, who was passed out by the way, and they both... "You look like shit." Takashi, Rei, Kiriko, Rika, Saeko, Kohta and Lili all snorted at that. Though Saya, Hestia and Shizuka gave me a look for so... Oh yeah. (Note to self, don't curse in front of Eri... Or the girls are in earshot.)
Shaking her head, Hestia turned back to Eri, and held her hand. The one she could, since the other was holding Shizuka's neck like she'd disappear. "It's ok, the bad and ugly man...-" There was a shout of indignant rage from the aura cube next to me, and we all looked at it. "Maccillian... Can you..." Humming, I started shaking the cube up and down, kinda like a sprite bottle, and his rage turned into shouts of pain.
A minute of that later, and the only sounds from Overhaul were groans.
That done, I looked back to Hestia, and she looked appeased.
"Now that the barbarian has been dealt with, can we finish this please? I would appreciate delving into this worlds technology and libraries." I rolled my eyes at Athena, and turned back to the cube with Overhaul.
I hummed for a bit, and grinned when an idea came together.
Looking over to Eri, she met my gaze, and only slightly shrunk into Shizuka. I could feel my face soften at that, and decided to be very nice with this. "Eri." Again, only slightly shaking. "Do you know what fireworks are?" She, and the rest of the pack, blinked at that. After a few seconds of confused staring, she shook her head. I smiled, as softly as Werewolfly possible, and took out my scroll.
Before we raided the Yakuza, one of Saya's improvements to our scrolls pulled through, so we had internet access now. So after searching Youtube, finding the song I wanted, and going to a specific timestamp, I tossed it over to Rei, who eagerly caught it.
She took one look at the song, went 'OH' then after a quick glance at Eri, looked back to me. She not only knew the song, which surprised me, but the glance at Eri told me she knew the reason. Those together were enough to have her ready to hit play the moment I said anything. "Ready whenever you are Uncle Za!"
Nodding at her, I looked back to Eri. She was looking at my scroll, and for a moment, she didn't look scared. Though after noticing my gaze on her, she turned back to me, and met my gaze again. "Enjoy the show Eri." And with that, I turned back to the cube, placed my hand onto it. I didn't need too, I could just make it blast off with a thought, but theatrics and all that.
Gripping it hard, I reared my arm back, dissolved the tether, THREW it into the air. Right after that, I signaled Rei to start.
And so she did.
"~Hey kid can you hear me?
Don't you dare pull the trigger and throw it all away.
You have every reason left to stay alive.~" When we, the song and me, cause I was singing along, got there, I heard a few 'ahs.' Considering the situation, I thought that fit the best. There was also another reason why I picked this song, and was about to do this, but I'd need a few days to see if it worked the way I thought it would.
"All this hell you've lived and seen, drown it all in gasoline."
And light the match, pull the pin, you are not who you've been, the past is just lessons learned.
Light it up and let it burn.~"
And I ignited. Because of my restriction, my flames weren't the white I had gotten used too, but an azure pillar of flames was good enough.
I made sure it didn't get close to them, and made see through aura walls for them, just to be sure.
Anyway, my flames shot up into the sky, causing a panic below, even though there already was one since we weren't exactly quiet earlier, and I decided to focus on them first. (Let's give her a proper welcoming memory.) I still had enough control to shape my flames, so I shaped them into a massive, by normal standards, wolf of pure flames.
My wolf let out a soundless howl, and ran off towards the sky. I ignored Saya's scoff about 'theatrics,' and focused on the wolf. As it ran, I made some embers fly off, and form into their own wolves, slowly, but surely, making a pack of fire wolves.
And when they went up to 20, I hummed, and started bringing the cube, with Overhaul, down towards them. At the rate they were going, it'd take 30 seconds, to a minute, before they made impact.
More then enough time to make a reference. So without looking at them, I opened my arms wide, and and asked the pack a question. "Do you all know what true 'art' is?" Hearing a chorus of 'no' and 'idiot,' I grinned. "True art." I started dispelling the cube, but not all the way. I promised a firework, and I was going to deliver. And as my wolves kept running, and the cube fell into them, I grinned. "Is an explosion." And an explosion it was.
Azure flames and a silver explosion rocked the sky. But my dramatic sense was still tingling, so I focused on whatever flames and aura were still there, and turned them into a rose. Kind of like the one from Hunter x Hunter.
The rose shimmered for a bit, then started to disappear as the petals fell. When it was all gone, I turned back to the pack, and took in their reactions.
Takashi, Kohta, Kiriko and Rei were all shocked, since they haven't really seen the new things I could do. Sure, they saw me use fire, but cooking lunch and making a rose bomb were different.
Saya and Athena had matching looks of 'I guess it was ok.'
Saeko, Hestia and Shizuka had happy smirks/smiles.
Eri looked like she was utterly entranced by the display, and I could see the wonder, and surprise in her eyes. Though I mentally frowned when I noticed she wasn't smiling. (We're gonna work on that.) I knew we would.
Then there were Lili and Rika. The both of them were holding up aura signs, made from Lili's aura, with numbers on them. Lili's was a 10, while Rika's was... "A 6? Really?"
Everyone looked over to Rika, and saw that yes, she gave my a 6! (The audacity of this bitch!)
It didn't help things when Rika just smirked at me. "Yup. 6/10, coulda been better." I just gave her a flat stare, and felt my tail slowly sway. She met my look with a smirk, and I sighed.
"Whatever. Anyway, let's go. We got places to be." Lili dispelled her signs, and everyone fell in.
It was time to go secure a place to stay, and get someone else to pay for our expenses.
{Eri's POV}
He was gone.
That thought rolled around my head over and over.
And I liked it. The bad man went up in a firework... And it was pretty. But he was gone.
And I was free...
Free...
When I thought that... I didn't know what to think. I've wanted the pain to stop ever since it started... But now that I was free... I didn't know what to do... Wh...- The woman holding me ran a hand through my hair, making me look at her. Her eyes looked so warm, and her smile made the bad thoughts go away. And it made me notice something.
I was free... And I had a family(?) Now...
I had no idea what family was supposed to be... But I wouldn't mind finding out.
[Omake - Well this is peculiar. Nezu's general POV 4 hours later]
If he were to describe the week he'd had, Nezu would say it was perhaps the most interesting one in a while. Earlier in the week, one of his (unwilling) faculty, had expelled an entire class.
In all of U.A's history, that had not happened. Now granted, students being expelled wasn't that rare, it was just the fact it had been an ENTIRE class, that was surprising.
As the principal, one would think Nezu would be furious, would have Aizawa's head on a platter.
They would be wrong.
Nezu completely understood the man's reasoning. To be a hero, one needed not only potential, but character. Sure that class had some potential, quirks good enough to be considered hero material, but that wasn't enough. Those students all exhibited superiority complexes, thinking their quirks were the end all be all of quirks.
All it had taken was one comment.
Just one. 'My quirk's the strongest in this class.'
And the entire class had devolved into a kindergarten brawl. Honestly, Nezu would never fully understand how it was possible for humans to suffer from such a flaw. If they were animals, they would've been culled long before reaching adulthood.
It was just unfortunate that they were human.
Moving on from that thought.
After talking with Aizawa, another event had taken the principal's, and a majority of the hero community's, attention.
The discovery, and vanquishing of a Yakuza compound. Particularly, the show of force, and bodies found on the scene. The local heroes had been unable to catch the perpetrators, but thanks to video footage from a well placed CCTV camera, they had atleast been able to place a face and name to the man responsible for creating an explosion turned calling card in the sky. A gray haired man with canine ears, a tail, and three claw scars on his chest. From the footage, the man had shown at least three different quirks, and that was a mildly troubling sign. However, his identity was found after a few searches.
Maccillian Silver Zaka, registered age had him at 20 years old, place of birth, and current residence, unknown. Quirk, unknown. The records had given no history of schooling, or even a credit history.
For all intents and purposes, the man just existed. And with no mentions or history of crime, he was 'clean.'
However, the deliberate murder of at least one man, who had been identified at 'Overhaul' otherwise known as Kai Chisaki, had given mixed signals on that front. The 'leader' of the Shie Hassaikai. A man who Sir Nighteye had begun investigating.
Though, the first point wasn't the only one.
On site, the police had documented 83 casualties, all of them Yakuza.
The interesting thing had been the varying causes of death among them.
Some had been cut apart, autopsies had confirmed the most likely weapon would be a katana, or atleast a bladed weapon related to it. But that wasn't the only discovery from those bodies. The coroners had determined the wounds, mostly the ones that had sliced the victims tendons, had been frozen over at some point, most likely to prolong the targets suffering.
Those kills had been attributed to one person, and using whatever had been taken from the video, the most likely culprit had been a purple haired woman with canine ears and a tail. Theories had been thrown around about her having a mutation quirk, with her sword containing the ability to freeze whoever it cut, while another had thought it was just a genetic trait from whoever the woman's parents were.
Because despite being given a name, there was no history of her, or said parents. The woman, Saeko Busujima, age 18, quirk unknown, and no prior history for anything. Just like the man.
Other bodies had shown signs of shotgun blasts, whip marks, which he could easily identify due to having Midnight as an instructor, and teeth/claw marks. No shells had been recovered, no animals or even signs of animals had been discovered, so the leading theory had been a summoning type quirk.
A quirk which was attributed to the pink haired woman, who also shared the purple haired woman's canine appendages, and had a whip on her person. One Saya Takagi. Age 17, and again, with no prior history of existing.
There were lucky ones however, considering some had died to a single shot to the head, free of any suffering. This was where things became a little worrying.
From the footage, three different snipers had been identified. Another purple haired woman, the only tanned one among the ranks. One Rika Minami, age 29. And that was all.
Next was a man who held himself like a soldier. A Kohta Hirano, age 17. Same as the others.
And what the police had believed to be a little brown haired girl. Her name was registered as Liliruca Zaka... Age 15... Who ALSO shared the canine features of the already mentioned people. The police, and heroes brought in, had no idea what to think of the girl given her familial connection to the main culprit. Nezu didn't either, but chose not to say anything considering it wouldn't have aided that topic.
Her aside, there were also people that had been slammed into the ground. Police and heroes were unsure of the person or quirk responsible, but Nezu was placing his bets on the gray haired man. One of the quirks he had shown seemed to be a gravity manipulation quirk, a quite fearsome one indeed. But any quirk that could touch on a force such as gravity had to be fearsome in its own right.
That aside, the last victims were either beaten down by blunt force, or torn into by what the coroners assumed was a spear. Those were attributed to the man and woman, one of whom were carrying a known member of the 'Eight precepts of death.'
The trio was identified as one Takashi Komuro, a Rei Miyamoto, and Kiriko Miyamoto. The first two were documented as 18, while the later was 42. There were no signs of quirk usage from them, so along with the snipers, and last three women, they were classified as unknown.
On the topic of the last three women, the first one was identified as a Shizuka Marikawa, age 27. Like the others, she had canine features, and absolutely nothing in the form of history. She had been seen carrying a child, one who held the same hair color of the man called Zaka, which led to a few theories regarding the situation.
Theories aside, the last two women were more of a difficult subject.
They were the only ones without the canine appendages, but their 'identities' had stumped the police, and even Nezu himself.
Athena and Hestia.
Women LEGALLY named after Greek goddesses, and who had NO information on record, aside from their names. Their first names, considering both women had no family name on record. They were the outliers in this situation, and no one could understand how they fit into the group.
Despite the names, no one thought they were literal goddesses, because who would jump to that conclusion in this day and age?
Setting that aside, the conference had ended a while ago, and Nezu was returning to U.A, staff in tow, when him, along with Eraserhead and Midnight, got an alert on their phones.
It was an automated alert. And its contents had been troubling.
U.A had trespassers.
And with pictures of said trespassers, the three of them shared a look.
There, they saw that one of the subjects from the conference had step foot into U.A.
Specifically, the man named Maccillian Silver Zaka.
