Arena Nine: The Cost V

"N-no... It can't be..."

I watched Ophelia drop the tablet once again. This time it fell on the ground and shattered before I could catch it.

Sighing, I looked at the agents around us. None of them had any particular expression on their face. Grey was frowning and Roxy seemed a bit horrified, but that was the extent of emotional disturbance inside the room.

In other words, none of them had cared enough for the princes to begin with. It reminded me how cold and calculative the A.R.M.A. can be.

"Now, will you lend me your support?"

I asked in a gentle tone, but Ophelia just stared at the ground with hollow eyes.

"I'll give you some time to think about it. Roxy, can you take her back?"

I looked at the girl behind me, who hesitantly nodded. She then approached her mother and gently pulled her up. Ophelia offered no resistance at all.

"Come on, mother."

Roxy slowly dragged her out of the room before closing the door behind them.
