Chapter - 27 (True Face)

Damon's P.O.V

It's weird that the food lover is not having food . " Hey, Is Carolina not going to come tonight too ? " Asked Gabe . " What do you mean by Tonight too ?" Asked Royce and Randy together in a serious tone . While they were looking at Gabe I noticed Em whispering to Alice " Why did he have to open his mouth ? Now we have to tell them the truth and She's going to be angry us and we are going to get punished again !" " Let's go have some food , I am hungry and Lina is having her food at her room as she's too tired to come down so let's go and meet with Lina's family . " I am sure Alice understood that I was with them and not going to leave them to get scolded from Lina . At the dinner table everyone was talking and chatting with each other like a happy family as if everyone is present there and they are all very happy without Lina which took me by surprise . Especially , her mom and aunt's behavior . Though they were chatting when we came and when Mr. Xerxes ( Lina's father) asked about her and Alice told that she was going to eat in her room which made him a little sad but it did not phase any difference to her mom, Mrs. Maya . She was talking with her sister-In-Law non-stop and when she saw us she had a smile at her face but that smile quickly disappeared when Ira came . I think she has some kind of prejudice against girls or some certain people I guess .

The food is made by a chef but ,they don't have any other kind of workers like someone who cleans the dishes , mops the house and cleans the whole mansion . In America we have like 45 trusted workers who work for us either to complete their debt or to earn money . But something is fishy here , later I will ask Gabe about it . After everyone's done eating they took their plates and went to the kitchen and started washing their plates . It shocked me , Royce, Randy , Bryan but Ira looked like she knew all this . We went to the kitchen after everyone finished and the devils too and saw the devil's standing one after another . This confused me and out of nowhere Alex started saying " Sorry guys , in this mansion after the Vi...Smita incident , we only hired a cook and a cleaner who cook and clean and then go to their apartment . After the Smita Incident Lina has trust issues because she saw her family in real danger . So after that we started washing our own dishes and wash our clothes in the washing machine ." " It also helps us stay fit and not forget our manners , which actually do sound good , because then we won't become like those snobby brat kids who can't cook for their life." Said Gabriel . " You guys don't need to justify her actions because whatever she does she does it for the good and we know it. We know her personality even though we haven't known her for tens of years . She's just like a coconut , hard from the outside and soft from the inside " Said Ira

After all that talking and all we went to go to our room and I fell asleep very quickly as I was too tired .

Alex's P.O.V

Now , I am going to the headquarters inside the mansion one with Gabe as it was Lina's instruction to appoint some more guards and assign them individually to her family members as she's letting the others go but whoever still wishes to stay can stay . I am shocked that she's letting them go before completely solving the Hunters case , but I think she's just being cautious in her own way . After appointing the already trained guards to each member Lina will announce this tomorrow morning and boy, her Maya auntie will not be happy . " Sometimes I think you are a philosopher !" Says Gabe suddenly . " Huh ?! What are you talking about ?" I said . " Yes , she's being cautious in her own way and yes her mom will not be happy about tomorrow's announcement . When has she ever been happy about Lina's achievements ? BTW you said that aloud " say Gabe which clears my head and I nod my head and say " True , That women is unpleasable for Lina , Even if Lina donates herself to legal work and earn money she's still going to taunt her . How is Maya and Xerxes a match and How is Leo ( Carolina's younger brother , If you forgot ) and Lina are their children ? Anyway let's go to bed or else tomorrow Lina is going to dance on our heads if we wake up late ." " Yeah , you're right ! Goodnight Bro" " same to you " I said and then went to my room to sleep .

Carolina's P.O.V

After I finished my test I saw it was already 4:00 o'clock , so , I went and took a cold shower and went downstairs to cook some breakfast for everyone . By the time I was halfway there the cooks and served the breakfast . I saw Ira in her casuals and wished her good morning which startled her as she was not expecting me to wake up this early and wished me good morning . I was discussing with her about my excitement to travel to Canada when I saw my mom and dad descend downstairs and they wished me good morning and before everyone joined us for breakfast I started the conversation of me going to Canada and my mom let out a breath of sigh which confused me , Ira and dad . when I asked her about this her words pricked me more than a stab wound does in the heart . She told " Thank god you are going , now at least Leo will be more safe than before , when are you coming back ?" hearing this I stayed quite a little while and felt Ira's hand on my thigh and saw others descending to have breakfast with a confused look as my dad was scolding my mom and I had a mysterious expression . " Tomorrow I will be going to Canada , I don't know for how many days I have to stay there but the announcement is that you are free to go back to your normal life and whoever wants to stay can stay . I have no problem . And don't worry about you safety issues as I am STILL ALIVE not dead . I will be taking updates ." I said and when was about to go upstairs commanded " Devil's if anyone needs your help packing then please help them and then pack your bags for the trip and I don't want any blunder or mistakes . Got it ?" " Yes Boss " said all of them together

After showing my mom the power I had , I went to the terrace and looked at the sky and then fell asleep there for 2 hours . When I returned I saw my school friends with a worried expression and the devils and others with a told ya expression . " Where were you ? Do you know how worried we were ? " said Sanjuma . " I had gone to the terrace for some fresh air and felt asleep there ." I said and went towards my room without giving any more explanation . I learnt a new thing today and that is a dog's tail can never straighten . so can not my mother's nosy and bad attitude . But I am also my father's daughter . She must've forgotten but I haven't . I will teach her a lesson now or never .
