My father sighs. "So you only have one final exam left? It's all depending on that? I heard you had a tutor after school. Did he not help you?"

What expression is on his face right now? I don't dare look him in the eyes, staring at the floor instead. "It did. I just had a huge blackout. I didn't finish all of the exercises. It is all my fault. Sorry if I let you down," I answer, my voice quiet.

"I'm not mad, nor am I disappointed. As always, I'm going to offer you a more expensive tutor, one that will really pull you through this. It's all up to you."

None of this surprises me. My dad's such a nice person. He could never get mad about something like this. And of course he's willing to pay just so I can pass. But for some reason, I don't want to give this up. No matter how irritating Jerah is, something in me is telling me to go on. "Thank you, dad. But please let me try and figure this out on my own. I promise I'll try my hardest."

He hums. "Can this school tutor of yours also help you next week?"

"You mean I need to ask my tutor for lessons even though we're on a break? Ah, he said he was really busy though..." I sigh.

"If not, I will get you a private one just for now." He really is serious about getting me to pass. Well, I guess that's only natural for a parent.

"Alright, I'll ask." So now I need to tell him about my terrible grade, and then disturb him during his busy break? Great. I quickly look up his phone number in our class chatroom, then text him.

You:

Hi Jerah. I just received my grade. I failed it, by just a few tenths of a point. My dad asked if it was possible to continue our meetups during the vacation, starting Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I check my mail and the band's mail, but don't find anything new in the inboxes, except for spam mails. I am just about to put away my phone when I get a reply.

Jerah:

Oh well. Guess it can't be helped, huh? I am free everyday except for Friday. You'll need to come to my house, though.

You:

Wait, really? Thank you so much! Sorry again for making you do this, especially since you told me you'd be busy... Well, I'm free every day except for Tuesday.

Jerah:

I already said yes, didn't I? Stop apologizing. Just come here starting Monday. Bye.

God, I can't stand that attitude. But I can't help but laugh a little.
