In 2030, the world as we knew it was turned upside down in the blink of an eye.
Various creatures and phenomena previously considered to be the talks of myths and legends turned out to be real, hiding in the shadows for ages, only to surface all at once.
As a consequence of this, chaos reigned on earth for a number of years. 
Sometime later, an Empire of advanced humanoid beings arrived from deep space and took over the planet, taking all its inhabitants under their wing. 

Hao Tian was conscripted as a soldier in the Empire's army where he served for almost a century.
In the end, he was also met with a mysterious fate and returned back to the past, before everything changed for the worse.

Follow along as Hao Tian slowly discovers the truth about Earth and its history, muddling the line between reality and fiction with every morsel of information. 

Will he be able to change what fate has decided for him or let the people of earth fall to ruin once again?

The Last Age of Man

Let me start by saying that the inspiration for Last Age of Man came primarily from Gantz (the manga), much of the Warhammer 40K universe, and of course the hundreds of traditional Xianxia/wuxia novels that I have read in the last few years.


What this means is that you will see a combination of many of the main themes here.


For example, I love the grim world of Warhammer where everyone is constantly at war and no one is really a good guy. Gantz took place on modern-day earth with futuristic weapons being used in a very traditional way against mythical creatures, which I love. And the cultivation aspect of Xianxia novels is something that I always adore.


Here, you will see a little bit of everything. The grimness and scale of Warhammer, the world-building of Gantz, and many popular tropes from cultivation novels (not a LOT of face slapping and young masters though, unfortunately).


We will start from earth where many of the major world events you might recognize but many others will be new and made up, so fair warning, don't get stuck on every little detail. 


Some country names and their history will be used as-is while much of it will be distorted or completely fabricated to better fit the narrative. 


Some exaggerations have to be made with regard to the scale of things just because...well, cultivation baby!


Point is, don't take things too personally if you're from a specific country or place and feel it is not being represented accurately. This is a fantasy novel through and through.
