As he ran towards the two females, he tried to remember their names.
' Misuzu and Toshimi was it? ' thought Michael when he finally remembered,as he was lost in thought, Toshimi's leg was grabbed and they started to pull her down the stairs
" HELP ME!!!! " screamed Toshimi with her face filled in deep despair and fear, but before Misuzu could reply, a chair leg flew past the both of them severing the zombie's hand and impaling the head of the other that was about to bite her leg
While the duo were still confused, Michael shot passed them and kicked the handless zombie in the chest causing an obvious indentation as it was lifted off the ground and knocked back those who were still trying to climb up the stairs
" move " ordered Michael strongly as he cleared the path as they followed behind him, the duo who were now saved were still shocked but Michael could see Misuzu glance guiltily at Toshimi before she looked away causing him to shake his head
' humans are inherently selfish, they're few who can give up their own life for another ' thought Michael, not really seeing a problem with what he knew she was about to do. 1 she was weak, she can't even save herself how can you expect her to save another, 2. in the anime because of Toshimi continuing to hold Misuzu's hand they both died, so it's hypocritical to judge Misuzu
' only with strength can you do the things you need to do ' thought Michael as he scanned the lower floors
' i'll have to post pone getting our bags, even though I'm strong I can't kill zombies and protect them at the same time. The lockers are beside the door out either way '
Michael patted himself on the back for doing a good job training Yuuki the past year, even Shizuka could complete with the current Saeko after a few months of training so I don't have to worry. Rei now....
When Michael thought of Rei, complicated emotions flashed through his eyes for a second before they disappeared

Yuuki side stepped the zombies' wild swipe before she hit it in the back of the head in one fluid motion not even stopping to check and see if it was dead, if someone was here they'd be surprised to find several downed bodies on the floor of the hallway behind her
Yuuki had a neutral expression on her the entire time as if she just swatted a fly
' they're slow, nothing compared to Michael when we spar, they're slightly stronger than me so I can't be cornered by a group of them or I'll be in trouble ' thought Yuuki without changing her expression

Memories of these past couple months flashed past her eyes, she could clearly remember the first time Michael made her kill, she had easily beat down the man but her hesitation caused the man to gain the chance to slice her on her chest
Yuuki mindlessly traced the scar in her chest through her uniform as she remembered the fury that Michael hid behind his calm eyes he practically dismembered the man after she cut his throat
She decided to keep the scar as a memento of that day

Snapping out of her thoughts she made her way her way to the infirmary to check on her harem sister, that's grown on her the past couple months bringing a slight smile to her face only for her face to return to being neutral as she watched a purple haired senior walked towards her direction with Shizuka following along behind her
' tch another one ' thought Yuuki as her face darkened before it returned to normal

Rei sat on the roof with clear sadness on her face after she failed to speak with her father
Glancing to the side in a corner laid one of her friends, she knew he had started to like her this past year and Rei honestly thought that if she didn't love someone else he'd make a good boyfriend.....just not hers
Feeling the warmth beside her Rei raised her head and looked at Takashi complicatedly. At one point she found herself really loving this boy, she even had plans of marrying him when she was younger
But now he's not the only one with a place deep in her heart, a image of a handsome muscular boy flashed in her mind causing her to sigh
Rei could still remember when they met, outside of appreciation for how cute and fragile he looked she didn't feel much else, she could only shake head as she watched the reaction from the other females in class
She couldn't help but recall how his bold and restrained personality didn't match his appearance so she found it funny when he flirted or teased her but this all changed as he started to work out.
He didn't change that much but he was much more manly than any other boy in the school....even more than him. Thought Rei and she glanced at Takashi taking in his mopey appearance. Now with his new appearance his words and actions affected her more than she would like to admit
She only found out that he had found his way into her heart after he and Yuuki started dating, she felt lost but she hid these feeling deep within her and started focusing more on Takashi only for it to go nowhere much to her frustration
Rei remembered how envious she felt at the attention and care he gave to both Yuuki and Saya compared to her block of wood
Then at the end of year, disaster happened. Her father was investigating a corrupted politician and because of that, she was held back a year by the politicians son which was her teacher. She was devastated, she remembered how she try to tell all her problems to Takashi but her hardly listened or pay much interest
she could remember his words and how much they hurt even though they were so simple
' it's only a year Rei ' said Takashi nonchalantly
That day she decided to walk home on her own when Michael who was at that point much taller than her pulled her aside and asked her what was wrong. She remembered how she snapped at him and told him off, she didn't even know why she did but she broke down in tears and told him all her problems
His expression never change, it always carried that calm but warm smile as he quietly listened to me vent, when I was finished he wiped my tears and told me 2 simple words
" I understand " he must have seen the confusion on my face as he took his ID from his wallet and handed to me, I must have had a ridiculous expression on my face as I read it because he started laughing, but at that point I was more taken aback by the fact that he was already 18 yet he was in the same year as Takashi
That very evening, was one of the most memorable of my life....that night I nearly lost my virginity to Michael only for him to stop at the last part before he explained to me that he was sick and that he couldn't have sex until he was healthy
After he walked me home, I was overcome with guilt towards Takashi and self loathing towards myself after that day we slowly drifted apart and I never really gave him a reason why
To this day I still wondered what would have happened if he made me his woman that night....
I thought that his place in my heart would slowly dwindle as we spent time apart, only for it to grow to the point that it overtook Takashi's but at that point he looked at me with slight indifference and whenever I spoke with him it was like there was a distance between us
Today when all of this started, I was out of it, Michael was still indifferent to me and Takashi had left the class but at the point I couldn't find it in me to care. I remembered the anticipation that bubble in me when I saw him walk towards me after Takashi slapped me
' will her he stand up for.... doesn't this mean that he still cares for me ' I remember how nervous I was when he stood in front of me and I caught Takashi from the corner of my eye taking a step back, when I was about to open my mouth to speak, I froze as he walked right pass me
At that point, I felt cold all over, when he started his explanation I hardly paid any attention, I just found myself staring at his face that never seemed to lose it's calm smile. I felt my heart drop when he was about to be attacked by a zombie then pride as he easily dealt with it at a speed I could barely follow
I felt so lost when he left the room with Saya without even speaking to me, if he had even just said my name I believe I would have jumped into his embrace and never left even if he entered a group of those things
It was this point that no matter how much I denied it, it was plain obvious. I loved him, way more than I ever loved my first love Takashi but at that point I couldn't even see his back

Back to the present, Rei rested her head on her knees as she thought about what she would do when she met Michael again before her lost eyes became determined, glancing at Takashi she decided to humor the last of the love she held in her heart for the boy beside her
" Takashi " said Rei causing him to look at her in confusion before he could speak she continued
" do you love me? " asked Rei as she looked deep into his eyes causing him to freeze and not meet her gaze as he tried to stutter out a response causing Rei to chuckle wryly before the previous tenderness that was in her eyes when she looked at him disappeared as she rest her back against the wall
' will he forgive me ' Rei thought
