Curious

Ogar could not stop thinking about the mystery man. He had seen him on the day he went in search of his uncle at the quarantine center. He and uncle Travis had been having a conversation in what used to be the evil forest, when he walked in. Uncle Travis had some skeletons in his cupboards which he was trying his best to prevent Ogar from discovering.

Ogar wondered why.He will never let the cat out of the bag. That was one thing he had been sure of. Despite the fact that he had refused to return home to join him, insisting he must tell him what transpired between himself and the man and why they had been there in the former evil forest, discussing.

Prior to this time, he had always seen his uncle as a man who can never hurt a fly but to think that he might have been involved in something shady worried Ogar.

He observed all traffic laws and obeyed the traffic light even when there is no police or traffic officer on the road. He didn't care who was calling him names because of it.

He never drove in the opposite direction on a one-way lane. This was a routine for uniformed men, especially the police officers. Even the other day, Ogar remembered that one of uncle Travis's friends was teasing him and saying he did use his uniform smartly.

What might it have been that was so bad that the other man used the word court martial?

Ogar silently prayed that nothing will take his uncle from him. That he will not get into any form in of trouble. He had been so absent minded that he didn't realize that Ramses had been showing him something.

"Ogar is everything okay?" Ramses stopped walking and began staring at him.

"I am fine"

"You don't look so"

"My tummy hurts"

"Oh, that's the reason? You would have said something" Ramses said.

"Sorry about that"

Ogar nodded.

"Let's go back to your house" he decided.

Uncle Travis's view...

Now that he has visited me a second time I believe that everything we discussed will fall into place. Nothing will hinder it as long as he agrees to keep his part of the ordeal like I am going to keep mine. This is a part of my life I will rather keep a secret. Thankfully, Sheila had not bothered me so much about it.

Ogar had been really sad about me not saying anything. He already had a hint that something was going on but he couldn't place his finger on it. I do not necessarily have to help him find out about me. In fact, it may lead to something more drastic like. What if he reports me? As much as I am family I thought him to uphold the truth and justice. Ogar didn't have to be involved in such. He needed to be protected. Ogar didn't seem to understand this. He didn't realise my options were limited and they were all he could pick from.

He had to protect Ogar all cost. That was his kid sister's son. That was the future of the Ojong family. His elder brother died as a priest in the Catholic church. He had no children of his own. Apparently, Ogar had been the only offspring of his sister and the only grandchild of his grandparents.

The burden was resting on uncle Travis's shoulders. He would not let his family down. Ogar already had enough. He had come to live without his parents . He deserved a good life, one that can suite his aching heart. Uncle Travis wondered why he had to be this way sometimes. He hoped he could help him to live happily.

He hoped he was doing the best he can to ensure that he has been a positive role model to Ogar. He hoped he had been leading him on the right path. He hoped he had been encouraging him to make the the right decisions. He had never been a father before. He had never been responsible for a child until his sister's demise. He regrets that events turned out the way they did, in respect to this situation. A court martial is a serious issue.

Ramses's point of view..

Never have I ever seen a more disturbed uncle Travis. His facial expression alone is enough to give him away. It looks like he is carrying all of the world's burdens on his shoulders. He didn't look like this, when he arrived at our house earlier this morning.

Ogar looks disturbed as well. Prior to the time we went out on a stroll to the market, Ogar's countenance changed and I could see he was troubled. I hope all is well with this family? I wish I knew what to do to help but of course I have to wait, till I am asked for help, then. Rather than meddle in another's business, I will just wait.

Ramses looked at his wrist watch. He knew it was getting late. He had to return back home. Maybe he should linger a while but how long will that be. They had his digits, besides he had plans to visit once more before he goes.

"Uncle Travis, I will be on my way now. Did I mention that I will be leaving as soon as I meet my father? I will still pay you one or two visits before I leave. Ogar, I will see you soon" he said as he started his journey in the direction of home.

Ogar watched him leave. There was something about him that Ogar could not place but he knew that Ramses had become like his brother.

He hardly felt that way about somebody. Maybe it was the aura that Ramses carried had, maybe it was the way he behaved towards Ogar. He had become an integral part of Ogar's life.

Ogar knew he will miss him when he leaves. He was thankful he had taken pictures on several occasions. Aside being related to Minka, he was also like the big brother Ogar never had.
