Sweet Oleander

 Minka jerked out of the chair, as she felt a cold touch on her elbow. Her eyelashes parted simultaneously. 


"I am sorry, I did not mean to startle you", uncle Travis had said. She heard a soft giggling behind her and turned to see Nkom laughing without control. 


" What's so funny?", She mumbled. Nkom noticed Minka's eyes had flashes of anger 


"It's just, ... It's just... " Nkom started but burst into feats of laughter once more. 


Minka frowned in confusion as she rubbed her face. "Uncle good afternoon," Minka greeted uncle Travis. 


" I am alright", she replied as she returned to glaring at her sister. 


"What did I do?", Nkom inquired innocently. 


Minka gave her a more ferocious stare. 


"Oh, it's that time of the month," Nkom whispered under her breath as she distanced herself from her sister, whose eyes were on her and still burning with anger. 


Minka hissed in disgust while Nkom shrugged her shoulders, quietly.
