Black blood sprayed all over Charles and Gemma, and both stepped back with shock written all over their faces as they processed what had just happened. Gemma let out a scream as she watched the body fall to the ground. His head rolled across the ground, wide-eyed and pale as death while everyone stared. Blood oozed from the severed flesh, as thick as oil and dark as night. It was absolutely gruesome, but each person in that clearing had done worse; that wasn't the sickening part. The sickening part was that Shawn was dead.

No one moved. No one said anything. No one could.
