Chapter 18: Walls

“I have information about the girl. “She was defeated and captured,” a dark-skinned girl said. “Is it true that she wasn’t killed? ” A distasteful tone was dripping from the man's mouth. “No, sir. But I already obliterated her tongue,” she added, pleased with herself.

“Excellent. You may leave now; you will be rewarded later.” The girl bowed respectfully and smiled, knowing that her actions would be rewarded handsomely.

The man whispered her wife's name, and she immediately appeared, standing in a respectful distance and looking at the man expectantly. “We need to stop her, either by killing her or silencing her.”

“If we kill her, there will be widespread suspicion in the community. If we want to silence her, cutting her tongue out will not suffice.” She moved closer to her husband, and when she was directly in front of him, she continued, "We need to take away everything she has and that will leave her mute."

They both grinned with a dark and sickly expression, and by this time, his wife was sitting on his lap, laughing like a madman.

The tortured girl whimpered in agony, but no understandable words came out of her mouth. “She's not even saying anything; she's just whimpering in pain!”Krisana said as the whip made contact with the girl's back. “Calm down Sana, she must be hesitant about it,”.

“All right, if you want to look on the bright side, YOU do it.” Krisana threw the whip at Kelani and stormed out of the room. Kelani turned her gaze to the whimpering girl as she watched her sister exit the room.

She reached out her hand and looked at the girl's distorted face, which had not returned to normal after they had banished her magical side. She pushed the girl to the ground, the chains clanged, and the girl remained in the fetal position.

“dolore” Kelani's voice caused immense pain to overtake the girl's body; her screams could be heard from yards away, but no one heard them. Her screams were filled with pain, and the pain was making her want to kill herself stop it.

Kelani repeated the Italian incantation, causing the girl's agonizing screams to echo off the basement walls. Kelani was becoming irritated; the girl's patience was wearing thin; when people met her, she had this bubbly attitude that contrasted with Krisana's.

*BANG*

The door slammed against the wall, revealing an enraged Kane. “Kane, you didn't have to slam the door open like that.” Kelani's face eased as she looked at her brother. Kane's face darkened as soon as he set his gaze on the distorted girl.

He moved closer and grabbed the girl's jaw to turn her around to face him; when he got a good look at his face, his assumption was confirmed. “This girl...” Kelani leaned in eagerly, “was at the cafe near the stop.” I met her, and while we didn't have a deep conversation, she was nothing like this before.” He explained while disgustingly letting go of the girl's face.

“You must inform Mom, and we must investigate that area.” Kane was hesitant to reveal everything, but they still informed their mother of what they had learned. Their coven has only one thought: "The Lenners are trouble."

Artea and Kaylee were walking down the halls of the high school, both engaged in a casual conversation. Artea examines the girl's body to see if there is any visible injury.

“Artea… What club are you a member of?” Kaylee tried to strike up a conversation with the Lenner girl, saying, "Cheer Team, but I was thinking of changing clubs." Artea was taking her books out of her locker while Kaylee was speaking with her.

”W-what club? ” Kayle inquired, and the Lenner girl replied, “Volleyball or Soccer, I think.” Artea's book fell to the floor, which irritated the Lenner. Her mood was changing and swinging as a result of the previous experience. Every little thing irritated her, but she never let Kaylee see that side of her because she didn't want to trigger something.

The two girls went separately and the Lenner remained reluctant to face the three siblings. There are a lot of things she doesn’t understand, know about, and she even doesn't know whether she would like to get involved.

She repeated in her mind, and she placed her eyes at the hallway in front of her, ‘Nothing bad could happen... nothing bad could happen’ A woman stood, could not see her face clearly, the eyes of Artea wandered around the body of the woman and she realized it was a kind of see through.

She froze and stared at the woman, unable to see any facial expressions due to the blurriness. She wanted to turn around and walk away as if nothing had happened, she wanted to mind her own business, but she doesn't seem to be able to do so. 'She isn't real.'

The woman lunged at her so quickly that she didn't even notice what had happened. Her books fell to the ground, her breathing was ragged, and instead of closing her eyes it was wide open and looking all over the place.

Some of the students came to a halt and looked at her, puzzled. They looked at her as if she had two heads, and the fact that all eyes were on her made her want to shrink in the corner. She grabbed her books and dashed to her class, her gaze fixed on the floor and her books clutched tightly.

The youngest Lenner boy sat in the third row of the Freshmen's English Class, his mind not focused on the discussion, but on events involving his sister and mother He wasn’t dumb enough to not notice the change in their attitudes it was like they were both different and he was still him.

He didn't mind that his mother and sister kept secrets from him, but there was a voice in the back of his mind that frustrated him. He tried to dismiss it by looking at the book, reading the words on the board, and listening to his teacher's words, but it was deemed ineffective.

“Lenner!” His head whipped to his teacher “Answer the question on the board,”. This irritated him, but he just pursed his lips and read the question.

What are the 7 Coordinating Conjunctions?

“Oh... uhhh...” His mind was so preoccupied with his sister and mother that he didn't even register the answer. “Pay attention...” He heard a voice and tried to figure out who was speaking, but the teacher only looked at her expectantly, and he could tell Mrs. Freed's patience was running out.

“There's no need to look for me; just respond to this... for, and, nor, or, but, yet, so” he heard it again and responded, “For, and, nor, or, but, yet, so” the teacher was satisfied with the correct answer and moved on.

Greg was bewildered by what had just occurred, and he turned his head in every direction, trying to figure out who had spoken, but to no avail. ‘I must be going insane,' he thought as he sighed and rested his head on his left palm.

A smile appeared on the face of this person in the far corner of the classroom. This person's smile cannot be classified as malicious or satisfied. This smile, on the other hand, had other plans.
