The Trip

“Why do you need to bring Micay? You know what will happen if ever”

Miguel said to Louie. The young man just informed him of his plan to bring his sister for a visit to convince the owner of one of the lands they were planning to buy the next day. They were in front of the dinner table that morning, and the girl was still asleep.

“Let her, it is better than her sulking around, besides she promised not to get out of the car when I’ll talk to the landowner”

“It’s up to you. As long as you will make sure that your sister is safe” his uncle answered.

“Don’t worry, leave that land to me. All you have to worry about is finding Alicia.”

Miguel’s face darkened when his nephew mentioned the woman’s name.

“You still don’t know where she is and her possible child is?” the young man asked before sipping his coffee which was only reached by one of the maids.

“You’ve been looking for them for twenty-five years, but you still can’t find them?” the young man shook his head.

“Did you think it was that easy? That woman is great from hiding”

“Just be thankful that she hasn’t even thought of going back and insisting on his son’s right to Daddy’s wealth.”

“That’s what you pray not to happen.” the old man stopped eating and looked at his nephew.

“Remember when another of Henry’s children shows up...”

“Will it be my end? Is that all you are always going to say?” The young man, full of irritation, met his uncle’s gaze.

“I’m just saying, Louie...”

“Make sure that they won’t step on any of my properties, and just make sure that Micay doesn’t know about them either!”

After saying this, the young man got up and left their dining area, and went straight to the living room, while the newly awakened girl went downstairs.

“It’s morning yet your forehead is already wrinkled?” the girl asked sweetly. She approached the older brother and sat down next to him. But her older brother did not answer.

“Whatever the problem is, you can fix it. Just calm down brother.” She said before kissing her brother on his cheek.

'Everything will be fine soon.' the girl said in her mind before walking to their dining area to eat her breakfast.

“Good morning Uncle Miguel” the girl greeted him happily, she approached his uncle and kissed him on the cheek before going to another side of the dining table.

“How’re your studies?”

“I’m still on the top” the girl replied cheerfully.

“You don’t disappoint me and your brother.”

“Of course uncle, that’s all I can give back to brother Louie and you, doing better in my education, isn’t it?” the girl’s smile still lingered.

A few moments later one of the maids approached her and handed her the milk.

“Thank you, Lina.” Lina just smiled at her before returning to the kitchen.

“It’s still early, but it looks like you and Louie are arguing. Is there any problem?” the girl asked after drinking her milk and putting her glass on the table.

“There’s just a little problem, but let us handle it,” the old man answered her. The girl just watched her uncle for a moment before continuing to eat her breakfast.

Monday morning, the young man woke up early to prepare all the necessary documents for the purchase of lands. Louie was just waiting for his sister to wake up so that he could prepare herself for their departure. A few hours later, his well-dressed sister knocked on his door.

“Are you that excited?” he laughed as he spoke to her before messing up her hair

“Louie, stop it” she wiped his hand away.

The young man was still laughing as he apologized to his sister, he knew very well that his sister didn’t want to be touched, especially in her hair, and messed it up.

“Hernan is already waiting for us,” the girl said after fixing her messy hair.

“Come on then,” the young man said while laughing before he put his arm around his sister.

Micay had a beautiful smile as soon as she entered her room. She did not agree to bring her nanny no matter what her uncle and older brother insisted on her. She is too old to bring her nanny. And it will only interfere with what she is going to do. The girl was arranging her belongings when there was a knock on her door. Draw smiles on the girl's lips when the door opened.

"I thought that you were the one I saw earlier when I got out of the car" the girl hugged the newcomer.

"I won't be long either, someone else might see me, I'll just hand it over to you," he said while handing the USB to the girl.

"Are you sure that's him?" the girl asked as she reached for the USB.

"Will I make a mistake? Remember when I once told you before, when you are trying to replace when you were a baby, I recovered you right away, didn't I?"

The other person replied with a smile, but suddenly that person turned serious.

" Just be careful."

"Sure, you know how good I am don't you?" came the serious answer of the girl.

Her eyes glazed over with hatred is shown on her gentle face. Suddenly, the cellphone in the girl's pocket rang. He talked for only a few minutes before dropping the call and addressing the visitor again.

"It's time."

A meaningful smile flashed on her lips. The other person just answered her with a smile before she kissed her on the cheeks and left. While going down the stairs she met the other staff, who were going to Micay's room.

"Who's that, Ma'am Micay? She's so pretty," he said while his gaze on the stairs remained.

" I don't know, she just handed me my keychain that fell off"

He just nodded and he suddenly looked at the girl as if he remembered something. "Sir Louie wants to talk to you. I almost forgot what I'm going to say."

"You saw a beautiful woman and you almost forgot the reason why you're here" the girl laughed. "All right, I'll be going. Please let him know that this will only take a moment" she said before closing the door.

Just a few minutes later the girl went to the living room where her older brother was sitting and watching television while waiting for her.

"You called me," she said smiling as she sat next to the young man.

"I'll go somewhere, is it okay for you to be left alone here?" he said to his sister.

"It's boring when I'm alone here, but I don't want to go to your boring meeting either," She said while sitting cross legged, and even put her elbow on her knee while holding her hand on her chin as if thinking.

"I'll just go shopping" she spoke happily to her brother.

"All right, I'll ask someone to go with you.."

"Don't worry Louie, I'm not known here so maybe it's ok for me to wander alone" she interrupted what her older brother was going to say.

"But Micay .."

"It's okay, I'm already a lady. Just take me to the mall and then just pick me up after your meeting."

The brother looked at her with resistance showing on his face.

"Please Louie, I'm a good girl, aren't I?"

The young man sighed before speaking. "Okay, all right."

"Yey! Love you brother" the girl hugged and kissed her brother on the cheek.

"But promise me, don't let anyone court you and..."

"I'll call you right away when something happens."

The smiling girl added to what her brother had to say. The young man just shook his head while getting up from his seat.

"Fix yourself, because we're leaving after lunch."

After the young man replied, his sister ran to her room.
