Chapter 73

For several days, Michael had a serious problem concentrating on his work. He accepted the promotion, but it was not a source of satisfaction. If not for his friends' help, Alex, Thomas and Matthew, he wouldn’t have made ends meet.

They silently brought him his meals, and did whatever they could to prevent anyone else from noticing his indisposition.

As long as he accepted the fact that he had a son, recognizing that he was almost ten years old wasn’t easy.

Michael couldn’t approve of the reality that he was not able to see his first steps on his own, nor did he get to hear his first words. He has not seen him grow, learn new things and gain further skills.

It was extremely painful, but he was fully aware that he deserved it. Whatever happened, he deserved it.

He tried to call Alice many times after she left the magazine, but either her number was out of reach or it was switched off. At one point, he even got the idea that she had probably changed her phone number.
