Chapter 6

“Are you done yet?” I inquire as I watch Tristan just eat.

It has been 20 minutes since I met up with him and he hasn’t said a word. I check my watch again and my class on ethics is going to start in 10 minutes; could he take any more time.

“Not yet”.

That’s all he’s got to say! I get up to leave getting fed up with this.

“Sit back down” Tristan says leaning back in the chair.

“No, I’ve got class and you’re just wasting my time”, I start walking but when I reach the door, I notice a shift in the weather. When I checked the weather this morning it said it was going to be a good day but the weather is terrible, the wind is blowing so strong. Typical Britain weather.

“You might want to wait” I hear Tristan say from behind me.

“No” I reply as I open the door, the wind is too strong that I want to stay behind but my ego won’t allow it.

Tristan pushes the door close and I hear his voice on my neck, “The wind will stop in 10 minutes; you’ll be late but at least you’ll be alive to attend it”.

“How do you know when it’ll stop? I’m going to be late because of you anyway” I say flustered and walk past Tristan to sit down where we were sitting before.

“Are you going to give me answers?” I inquire.

“Depends, answer mine first” Tristan says.

“You’re the one that told me that’ll you answer my questions. Anyway, go ahead”.

“Since when do you know Hava and Randall?” he asks, leaning forward.

“3 months since university started, why?” I rest my head on my hand.

Tristan looks like he’s deep in thought and then he finally speaks up, “you don’t even know what your surname ‘Archontes’ means do you?” He leans back waiting for me to reply and lifts one of his eyebrows.

I look at him with my eyebrows scrunched, “it’s just a name, something in Greek”.

He starts laughing and gets up; he zips up his coat and reaches his hand out to shake “it was nice meeting you Miss Archontes”.

I just smirk and move his hand away, “you’re kidding me, this is your way of giving answers”.

He looks away and looks back “no, but I would love to meet you again, this is fun. A game of cat and mice”.

“No, we’re not meeting again and if we do it’s on my terms” I pick up my stuff to leave when the door flings open and in walks Hava and Randall but not on their own.

The other 6 people from my dream are with them. All of them look serious. For a first encounter this couldn't get worse. Hava looks at me annoyed before turning her gaze back at Tristan. I just want to sink away where none of their stares can reach me.

“You thought you could show up whenever you wanted, and we wouldn’t know” Randall says staring at Tristan dead in the face.

“Wake up! The only way you do know that I’m here, is because I wanted you to know I’m here” Tristan says with both his hands in his pockets.

“Why are you even here?” a girl that shouted at me in my dream says.

“Well, you see-” Tristan starts but I butt in.

I slide my hand into his arm, “I wanted to meet him” the moment I say that all eyes turn to me including Tristan’s.

“I wanted answers, I asked Hava and she said that if Randall can’t then she can’t” I look up at Tristan before continuing “Tristan said he will”.

Tristan smirks as he glances down, I know what he was thinking. I knew Tristan wasn’t going to give me answers, but anything is better than nothing, hopefully this changes things, and he opens up about what he knows.

Tristan looks at them “I did”, you can hear the mocking in his tone.

A girl who was standing next to Hava in my dream speaks up, “what do you want to know?”

She’s got a gentle tone, she doesn’t even sound annoyed. She starts walking up to me leaving the comfort of her group, “go on, you can ask”.

However, Randall pulls her back “are you out of your mind Brielle? She’s not ready”.

“This is what I’m talking about, you guys can’t give me answers that Randall doesn’t allow” I say annoyed.

“Randall I’ve got this” she says as she squeezes his hand and smiles before turning back to me, “how much has Tristan told you”.

I sigh and walk up to her as well, “nothing, he mentioned something about my surname and nothing else”.

She smiles “good, we’ll give answers but in due time. Can you wait a week?”

I nod and look back at Tristan; he’s staring at me too “your loyalty stuns me” he says in disgust.

“I’m sorry” I whisper before turning back.

“Thank you for your patience. Hava will let you know of when to meet us but continue to carry on with everything as usual and don’t meet up with Tristan” Brielle says.

I nod and see that they all pave a path for me to leave. I leave the café and see through the glass window that one of the guys throws a punch across Tristan’s face. Tristan continues to stare at me even after getting hit; I turn away with the guilt building within me. I could’ve stopped that.

I walk away and a tear rolls down my face, but I stop them before I start to brawl in public. I walk into my ethics class and apologies to the professor. A few minutes later Hava walks in being chirpy as always.

How did she do that?

How does she just witness a person being punched in the face and be okay with it? I try not to think about what happened and continue to make notes. After class finishes, I ask a girl who’s in my other class for notes that I missed because of Tristan.

I walk out of the class without acknowledging Hava.

At least until I get answers.
