First, my nose went underwater, then my eyes. For someone who didn't know how to swim, it's important to struggle to stay afloat or at least, draw attention so someone else can save them but I was a completely hopeless case, I didn't struggle at all. People fear things because they don't want to face them and here I was, drowning because I was afraid of drowning. I always knew my fear of water was going to get me killed, now the time had come.
As soon as the water hit my eyes, the sting forced me to close them. The water filled my ears. So much pressure. Darkness. Fear. I felt like I was going crazy. I felt a pull on my legs and I immediately opened my eyes and felt that sting again so I blinked several times and when the sting was gone, I looked down but there was no one pulling me, just my mind playing tricks. But looking down was my mistake.
