For the last two years, Kane has been dreaming of the day when his mate finally turns 18 and they can finally claim each other. However, his world suddenly comes crashing down and his dream is instantly destroyed when the alpha announces that his son (Kane's mate) has found his mate, who is the daughter of a neighboring pack's alpha. However, he can't bring himself to say anything. He has kept this a secret for two years and he was waiting for another few months until his mate's birthday, but that day is never coming now. He can't stand seeing his mate with another, and he can no longer handle being in his pack. He can't let his father know either, since he is the pack's Beta. What can he do? The only thing that he can think of.... He will keep his secret and run as far away as possible. He will no longer be Kane, but he will become a new person, with a new name. Blake. That sounds nice. It also reminds him of black, which is what his past is now.

New Life

It has been a long couple of weeks, but I’m so glad that the gathering is finally done. Leave it up to the werewolf council to end this event with a bang. A formal dance isn’t exactly how I would have ended the gathering, but I’m just happy that we are getting an evening off, while I get to admire and dance with my baby. I don’t know if I’ve said this enough though, but I’m so lucky that Ben is my mate. 


Speaking of me looking at my mate. I can’t stop smiling at him as he comes out of the bathroom dressed in a stylist black tuxedo. My eyes keep scanning him from head to toe trying to see if I have missed any little detail that would make him look even more amazing than he already is. However, everything is perfect. Yes. My mate is perfect. 


He tugs at his cufflinks as he walks into the bedroom towards me. “Does this look all right? I have never really worn a tuxedo before. I don’t know if I did this right or not.” 


He is so beautiful. I’m definitely the luckiest person alive.
