Chapter Twelve

I can't help but laugh as I watch them disappear through the curtain, taking their places centre-stage the lights deem as a familiar song comes on.

Bora starts singing and my smile stretches as I shake my head. So this is why she's so secretive, I thought as I watch them perform ERROR - by VIXX.

With their enthusiasm and talent on stage, everyone backstage couldn't help but sing and cheer along with the students filling up the audience seat on the other side of the curtain.

For a couple of seconds, I'm kind of jealous of their song and stage presence because they make performing in front of the entire student population look easy, but then I remember what song I chose to perform and relax a bit.

My song isn't so bad either, and as long as I don't flunk my performance I should kick theirs out of the water.

Loud cheering draws me out of my thoughts and I tune back to my surroundings to see Bora and the twins rush down the stage with large shitting grins on their faces.

For the next couple of minutes, I watch the performers backstage slowly decrease until it's remaining just me and another girl anxiously awaiting our turn.

I take in a deep breath when my name is finally called and walk through the curtains on shaky legs as the stage lights deem to nothing but darkness, my heart raced a mile a minute but slows when I feel the reassuring presence of my backup dancers more than I heard them.

It hadn't been easy but I was able to convince some of my dance mates to back me up for my performance today, and though most of them flatly rejected me while others seemed sceptical about helping someone they barely knew, 3 girls promised they'd help if they could find a way to get to the school's performance in time.

The three of them have auditions at some big agency scheduled for today. But just in case, I recorded the dance steps I'd created for my performance on camera and sent it to the three of them via email. Now let's just hope they practised.

My song blasts through the speakers and student within the auditorium screams in cheers upon hearing the starting of THE BOYS - by GIRLS GENERATION.

The stage suddenly lights up, almost blinding me with its brightness, and the cheering noise rose to an uproar.

But even though my heart is racing like crazy, I can't help but feel like I'm on drugs with the way adrenaline is flowing through me and goosebumps rise all over my body.

I've never felt so confident and empowered as I do performing on stage, except maybe when I'm on the runway. It's electrifying.

Everyone sings along with me which made it so much better and I could tell they loved our dance routine which I coordinated to be extremely sexy but professional.

My performance didn't last long, mostly because I'd arranged the song in other to focus more on my dancing, but I'd like to think I nailed it.

Once I finished my set I took a deep bow and the audience practically screamed their applause as I rush off stage with my backups.

Vigorously thanking the three of them with a hug, we separated and I settle next to a beaming Bora while everyone calms down for the last person to perform.

I notice the two seats to her right are empty and wonder where the twins are at?

"Oh my gosh, you sly bitch!" Bora exclaims without any heat to her voice. "You lied about your performance?"

I turn towards her with a grin. "I didn't, I remember telling you I was going to performing a song from the Girls generation."

"You didn't tell me which song and neither did you tell me you had that whole dance routine planned. Shit girl, I never saw you rehearse so when did you prepare all that!"

"That's because I preferred to rehearse at home. Besides, the dance is supposed to be a surprise which is why I never said anything," I shrug, and playfully poke her pouting lips. "Don't pout, it's unbecoming of a lady."

"Unbecoming my ass," She snorts out a laugh, distracted by the cheering of the auditorium we turn to see the last act finish off on stage before I turn my attention back to her and finally ask.

"Where's Daejung and Byung-ho?"

As if just realizing they've been missing, she turns in her seat and frowns. "I have no idea," Turning back to face me she glances up over my shoulders and points. "Oh, there they are."

I turn to see the two of them approaching with arms filled with snacks, they make their way past the two of us and settle in the empty seats besides Bora.

Turning to the both of us with equal grins, they both hold out a bag of chips and I suck in a sharp breath because once again I'm mesmerized by their physical perfection.

I don't usually say this often and mean it, because my world has somewhat become jaded thanks to my modelling career, but damn these boys are fucking hot.

"We saw your performance before we left, it was amazing Lana."

I beam with pride and a large grin slips onto my face. "Thanks, guys, yours was great too."

The twins share a smug grin before turning back to me with a shrug. "We know."
