El Training Montage

So, based on the responses I have received thus far, most of you guys are wanting him to NOT lose. Which I completely understand as most people don't want another Ash on the block. So, at the current time, I have decided to make it so that he WON'T be losing any battles at all, but that doesn't mean he will be winning them straight away.

What I mean is that he will be smart about his battles and when the appropriate time to actually challenge them will be. He will be the intelligent type to know what he is capable of at the current time and more, so he will prepare before giving the attempt to win a potentially losing battle.

This might not stick depending on future responses, but I will make a concrete decision when I get a few more responses. As of right now, I'm sticking with the plan just stated before. If this disappoints you, I'm very sorry. I am basing it on the majority, so please don't take it out on me.

Aside from that though, I will be trying to update this book as much as I can. High school is a whole lot different compared to primary school and it's getting kind of difficult to cope with the change, though my first term is finally over and I will hopefully have more time to write. Plus, going through puberty is a pain, I'm sure some of you understand.

Finally, I have decided that while there is the lore that Leon is supposedly the strongest champion to ever exist, It's not going to be that way in this story. He will be the youngest of the champions and also the weakest due to the lack of experience and years compared to the other champions.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter!

Days went by as Nate and Kayden continued to relax as well as train aboard the cruise that they were on. There were some rather empty areas that Nate made sure to exploit as much as he could to train his pokemon over the course of the ride.

There some decent trainers on the boat that they battled against, though most didn't exactly give much of a challenge at all. Luckily, they were able to get their hands on a number of weights from the fitness gym that was on the boat. Using those, they all managed to increase their stamina, speed, and physical strength by a good bit.

Golisopod, not so much. The guy was already ridiculously physically powerful, so his strength was taking longer to train up compared to the others. Though his strength at least WAS increasing, so it was good to know that he was getting stronger.

Even though they weren't able to get as good training as they would if they were walking to each city, Nate was still confident that his team was more than enough to still take on the Celadon City Gym. Though, he would probably hold off on challenging the gym and train the day before.

This boat wasn't going to set sail for Lavender Town until two days after arriving at Celadon, so he would definitely try to use as much of the first day to get some intense training in first before challenging on the day after, which would also be the day they would get on the boat once again.

"I guess this is goodbye for now, Nathan." Foster's voice sounded as the boat had just finished docking at Celadon City. The three of them were now standing at the bottom of the staircase that led up to the boat, which they were now saying their farewells.

"I guess so. You're going to be getting on your second boat now, right?"

"Indeed, I cannot be late or my wife will scold me real good." Foster laughed as he stated this. He then smiled as he then added. "Perhaps we shall meet once again, which I won't be surprised by. You are challenging the gyms, so I would assume you'll eventually find your way to Cinnabar."

"Of course, I do plan on earning that badge from that friend of yours."

"Hahaha~! Then I'll definitely tell him to be prepared, you aren't a normal trainer." Foster grinned as he then turned before beginning to make his way towards the other boat. However, he turned around and added one more thing. "Take care of that egg now, I am depending on you."

Nate just gave a small smile along with a nod as both he and Kayden watched as Foster walked off, to which they then saw him walking up the stairs to the other boat that was soon to leave. Foster waved down at them as they both waved back.

"How are your weights feeling?" Nate decided to ask as both of them decided to start moving as well. True to Nate's words, Kayden had a small makeshift open vest on him that weighed around ten or so kilograms. While it wasn't much, pikachu aren't known for their physical strength.

[Kind of difficult to move, but I'm getting used to it] Nate just nodded as they continued walking. Wearing weights was a common thing to gain strength, so Nate managed to buy some weights from the captain of the cruise and was able to make these things, such as the vest that Kayden wore.

Nate was also wearing some weights as well, he didn't want to be left behind as he needed to train himself as well. He had around fifty-two kilograms on him at the moment, weighted bands weighing eight kilos each on his wrists and ankles, and the twenty remaining kilograms separated on his chest and thigh areas.

He didn't have any trouble moving his legs and arms around at first, but as he continued to move around and tire himself out, the weights felt like they were getting heavier real quick. Golisopod and Victreebel also had weights on them, with them having around one-hundred and seventy respectively.

While Nate and Kayden never believed it before, a pokemon's attributes based on what a Pokedex entry says are total bullshit. Take Machamp for example, an entry says that it can unleash two thousand punches every two seconds, which is total bullcrap.

However, certain Pokedex entries did catch his interest. For Machoke, he was rather interested in seeing how strong he could make one if he trained it. It has stated that if the belt around its waist was removed, it unleashes its true power. Just how strong exactly? He was tempted to find out.

Though, he wasn't sure if the entry was overexaggerating or not as one of the entries also stated that machoke never get tired. This is a total lie as the machoke that Fucki- Fu King had got tired pretty damn quickly. So, they weren't sure if Pokedex entries were really reliable or not.

[So, what's the plan now?] Kayden asked as they were now entering the main entrance area to the city from the docks. The city was similar to many of the other cities they've already been to, with high buildings and more. Kanto never really had an incredible amount of diversity when it came to building design from what they've remembered in the original games. Though, it made sense as they were the first games to be produced.

"Training is definitely a must. But, we should book ourselves into a room first at the pokemon center before anything. Also, I need to send some pictures of Golisopod to Professor Oak, he's been nagging me to do so since our last call."

[Cool. So, it's a training montage...]

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

At the current time, Nate and Kayden went to the open park area where they could train without being disturbed too much. There weren't many people around, so that was good. They had already booked a room, so they were good in that regard and could start their training.

Right now, Nate had taken off his shirt, revealing his rather sculpted lean physique. Kayden, Golisopod and Victreebel were standing in line facing him as he paced back and forth in front of them as he spoke to them like a calm military soldier.

"Alright, lady and gentlemen. We are here training with the goal of becoming stronger, how strong you may ask? Even we don't know the answer to that." Nate stated firmly as he kept looking at them with a narrowed look as he continued to pace. "This training will be intense, and I expect you to follow through with the best of your ability. Do you understand me?!"

[Sir! Yes, sir!] Kayden shouted as both Golisopod and Victreebel gave their cries as well. All of them saluting like soldiers, with Victreebel using one of her vines to do so.

"Good! As I said before, this training will bring you all down to the ground. We aren't slacking at all today, not even in the least!" Nate shouted calmly as he crossed his arms and stopped walking and stood tall in front of them. "My goal through this journey is to train you to be stronger, myself included, and I intend to do that."

Nate then pointed down to the side, which was where he had set up a number of solid comfortable flat maps on the grass. Four in total, which was enough for each of them to use.

"We will be starting off with simple push-ups! You need to complete a total of one hundred before we continue on to the next exercise, which is twenty one-armed push-ups on each arm!" Nate explained with a stern voice as they all nodded their heads. "This ain't no fanfiction! If it was, then I expect those readers to follow through as well! We need to work hard here to get our power, and this will just be the beginning! Do you understand?!"

[Sir! Yes, sir!]

"Okay! Get on the mats, it's time to start this training montage! Eye of the Tiger!"

『Eye of the Tiger - by Survivor』

And thus, the training montage as they all quickly got onto the mats and began their push-ups. They were all feeling the incredible burn after getting a good few amount in, which was that much more intense with the weights they had on.

The ones who were having it the easiest through this particular exercise were Nate and Golisopod, Kayden having a bit of difficulty due to his short arms and Victreebel needing to balance herself due to her having to use her vines to do the push-ups. However, they were all determined as they pushed through.

The fact that the beat for the Eye of the Tiger song was actually playing was incredible as Nate and Kayden managed to get their hands on some instruments temporarily while they were in Vermillion, which they managed to produce some musical pieces in their spare time to put onto Nate and Kayden's phones. They didn't have time to sing the lyrics, but the beat was good enough.

The next exercise was one hundred sit-ups, then to training in practicing the power of their moves by destroying the targets that Nate had set up. They then repeated the cycle as they were now back to their push-ups, a lot of sweat running down each of them. They were still going to be running a few kilometers after as well.

[So many times it happens too fast, you change your passion for glory!]

"Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past, you must fight just to keep them alive!" All four of them were singing the song to keep themselves motivated as they pushed through the burning pain they were all feeling. Their voices and actions caught the attention of the people and pokemon nearby as they all sweatdropped when they saw the four of them.

Though, they did really like the song the seven of them were singing... wait, seven?

"Hold on..." Nate and the other three stopped their push-ups as they all turned their heads to the right. When they did, they could only blink with comically widened eyes as the entire machop evolutionary line was on the ground beside Nate doing the push-ups as well. "When the hell did you guys get here?!"

[What the fuck?!]
