Bad with emotions

Arthur Leywin POV :

As I regain consciousness the first thing I feel is pain all throughout my body. But it was bearable.

Opening my eyes I see Sylvie looking down at me, frowning.

"W-What..." I manage to stutter out.

'Papa is an idiot!'

I'm met with a paw to my face.

'You think you're so strong but you keep almost dying! If Uncle Fay didn't do that thing with his weird black and green fire you might have... What would Sylvie do without Papa?!'

I could see the tears forming in her eyes.

"Sylvie...I-" I began only to stop midway as I smiled at her.

"I'm sorry Sylv. You're right. I've been a little reckless..."

"Don't worry," I bring her forehead close to mine, "I would never leave you."

"Saying you're 'a little reckless' is an understatement," I hear an overly familiar voice speak.

Turning my neck towards the source of the sound I see my brother sitting beside me with Zeke curled up beside him.

"Fayden...what happened, is Tess alright?" I ask.

"...Your body is riddled with wounds and yet here you are worrying about Tess' health." He deadpans beforing sighing, "That's so like you,"

I chuckle weakly at him.

"Tessia's in a much better state than you that's for sure," He says, causing me to let out a sigh of relief.

"Sylv told me that you used some weird fire to help in my healing?" I ask

"You don't remember?" He asks.

"No, what do you mean? Remember what?"

"It's best you don't remember it....It wasn't really pleasant for you. Hell Sylvie nearly took my head off when I set you on fire." He replies.

I look at him incredulously, why would he set me aflame?

"Hey don't look at me like that! Without me doing that you would've been in much more pain!" He defends himself.

"So it was some sort of regenerative fire? Like Phoenixes?" I ask.

"Yes and no, It heals you but inflicts pain multiple times higher than the injury itself. I tried to reduce its effect as much as I could since too much pain would've been fatal for you. Hence you aren't fully healed right now." He explains.

"So could you heal me now?" I ask hopefully.

"No,"

"No? Why?"

"A few days in bed will do you some good, you're way too reckless for your own good." He said.

"Hey what was I supposed to do? I couldn't just let Tess get hurt like that!" I snapped at him.

"You could've raised an earthen wall to reduce the impact of the spell, you could've used Wind to redirect the spell or at least push you two away from the point of Impact, you could've removed the seal within your static void, you could've helped me in making the ice shield, you could've-" I cut him off there.

"What did you do? You have instant teleportation in your arsenal, you could've teleported us way, you could've done all of the things you just pointed out! Yet you didn't! Why? All because you didn't want people to know how powerful you are, and that 'you don't want to garner too much attention' as you say it. For you, your abilities staying hidden is more important than our lives!" I saw a flash of guilt and hurt on his face but I was too angry to care.

"Your right, I should have done it myself. Looks like I put too much faith in your abilities." He said before turning towards a glaring Zeke, likely conversing with him.

Finishing his conversation with his bond he turned to leave, but as his hand was on the knob of the door he turned back.

"Your recklessness will kill you one day, and I'll not always be there to save you," He says, his eyes fixated in a cold glare, before he left the room.

'You shouldn't have snapped on Uncle Fay like that Papa. He was only trying to help...'

'I know, but I don't need his help.'

'You do! You might have died if not for his interference! You need to apologize to him next time you see him!'

'Fine.' I grumble.

Neither of us noticed Zeke glaring at me as he went into the shadow in the corner of my room.

I never thought he would blow up like that.

But I guess I should've expected this, he was never good with emotions.

Calming Zeke down was a hassle, he was ready to rip his throat off.

As I open the door I see Director Cynthia and Tessia standing on the other side, out of view for Arthur but very much visible to me.

Closing the door behind me I speak, "I'm guessing you heard all that?"

"Yes, unfortunately," Director Cynthia spoke.

"Don't hold it against him, he's never been good with emotions." I say, resulting her to nod in acceptance.

She then proceeded to knock on the door, and entered when Arthur replied.

"So, you've been awfully quiet Tess, something the matter?" I ask.

"N-Nothing," She replied, a blush spread on her face.

"Oh I get it! Yo want to thank your Knight in shining armor personally!" I say.

"I-Its not like that!" She stuttered out.

"Sure it isn't. Don't get too carried away will ya? I'm not ready to be an Uncle yet," I reply, grinning at her red face.

Once she realized that I was messing with her she pouted and pinched me, hard.

"Ow ow ow! Calm down will ya? Sheesh, I'm just teasing my future sister-in-law, is that so bad?" I say, eliciting pinch as her face now began steaming.

"Alright alright! I'll stop,"

"Violent woman..." I grumble as she releases me.

"That's what you get for teasing me so much," She replies.

"Hehe,"

"Anyways what happened to you back there?" I ask.

"I haven't completed my assimilation yet." She replies.

"Assimilation? Wait Arthur gave you the Elderwood Guardians beast will?" I ask.

"Yes, he did. Seriously, giving away such a thing so casually..." She trailed off.

"Hey there's no one else he could have given it to anyways. IT would require someone to know plant magic and Old man Virion already has a will and he sure as hell wasn't going to give Feyrith something like that," I explain.

"But still...He could have sold it..." She protested weakly.

I shrug, "Sure he could have, but we don't really need the money currently," I say.

"Anyways I'm gonna go back to my dorm, I really need to sleep after using so much nacht," I say.

(He was in his first phase so using nacht taxes him way more than in Canine Divinity.)

"Goodnight Fay," I hear her say.

"You should start calling me brother to get used to it, its going to happen sooner or later anyways," I say with a cheeky grin.

Seeing her turn red once again, and possibly assault me with pinches I run away.

God its so fun teasing her.

Was Arthur too ooc?

God I hope he wasn't, I tried my best to make him as similar to the original as I can.
