Consequences

Fayden Leywin POV :

After coming out of my trance like state, I look around.

The few students that were inside the dome looked at me in horror and fear.

The professors glared at me warily, as if all this was my fault.

But the DC members among them only had a grateful expression on their faces.

But a hint of fear still existed.

And now that Kathyln now knows what I am.

Heh, I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to sever her attachments to me.

But looking at her expression, one of grim acceptance, made me reconsider my assumption.

Shaking my head, I look down and notice the changes my body has gone through.

I truly look like a beast in this form.

Suddenly noticing five massive mana signature I whip my head up.

It can only be the Lances.

And I have a vaguely certain idea what they are about to do.

They know my and Arthurs Identities, but not Zeke and Sylvies.

Zeke, take Sylvie and go to my family, take them somewhere isolated and safe.

No, I'm not leaving you to face against them! You will die!

Maybe I will, maybe I won't. But I'd rather not involve you two in it.

I'm staying!

He stubbornly replied.

Listen to me Ezekiel! You can not be involved in this! Both of you! If they get their hands on you they will either make you a slave to the royal family, or sell you to the highest bidder!

My use of his true name left no room for argument as he grudgingly accepted.

Fine...

As he reached Sylvie, who had turned back to her fox form, I realized this might very well be the last time we talk, and I didn't want us to part like that.

Zeke, remember that I will always love you.

A nod is the only inclination that he heard me, as he grabs Sylvie and Void Steps away.

Just in time as well, since the dome begins to crack.

A sharp pain from my mana core suddenly flares, as I revert back to my normal state.

I barely register Arthur shouting out my name and a bolt of lightning heading my way.

The last thing I see before losing consciousness is a stone golem taking the brunt of the surge of lightning.

Throughout all this, I fail to notice the insignia forming over my collarbone.

Third Person POV :

"You are not to lay a finger on either of the children, Bairon." A gruff, stern voice spoke.

This voice belonged to the Lance Olfred Warend.

Bairon Wykes turned his head towards the voice, "The boys brutally tortured and murdered my brother, and you tell me not to harm him? Do you wish to go against me, Olfred?"

"The boys, saved everyone here from your brother. And since when did you have enough hair in your balls to think you can challenge me?" Olfred retorted.

"Do not test me Olfred. I am in no mood for your folly. My brother died here, it is only fair I do the same to his killers." He turned to the two Leywins, and advanced.

Or at least he tried to.

For two black earthen Knights arose from the ground beside him and pinned him down.

"Olfred!" Bairon bellowed as lightning leaked from his body.

Yet the Knights showed no signs of being affected by it.

That is until Bairon releases a shockwave from his body, knocking away the two constructs, and charged towards Olfred, lightning pulsing over his raised fist.

Olfred responded in kind as hardened lava covered his fist.

Meanwhile Arthur stood, petrified, still in his integrate phase, uncertain on what to do.

It didn't matter, he was too weak to fight against a Lance.

But before either of them could attack the other, the white haired Lance, Varay Aurae, came in between them, "Enough."

Instantly both Olfred and Bairon were covered to their neck in a coffin of ice.

The ice appeared out of nowhere, and the area near it wasn't affected as it's temperature didn't fluctuate one bit.

And the boiling hot lava over Olfred's arm didn't even cause the ice to steam.

"Bairon, it's up to the council to decide what to do with the boys. You don't have a say in it." She spoke, her voice devoid of any emotion.

A few seconds later she dispersed her spell.

Bairon didn't waste a second as he hurls an arc of yellow lightning at the twins.

In response Arthur activates [Static Void] and takes Fayden and moves away.

It was unnecessary because an ice wall aroze in front of where he was a second ago and blocked the spell.

Varay materialized a thin sword made completely of ice and swung it at Bairon, the blade of which cuts into his throat deep enough to draw blood, "Insubordination will not be tolerated,"

Bairon didn't stop, in his rage he lost all sense of rationality and attacked the White haired Lance in his anger.

That was a fatal mistake.

As Varay didn't even hesitate to stab him right through his chest, rupturing his lung.

And freezing his body yet again in a block of ice.

"Olfred," She spoke.

Olfred nods and summons a coal knigjt to carry Bairon.

"Release me this instan-mmphf-!" An Ice mask muffles his protests.

By now, Arthur had realized how terribly outmatched he was.

In a couple more minutes the Lances gathered enough information fron the few witnesses to determine what happened.

But even then, to them it didn't justify the way Fayden had tortured Lucas.

Hence they kept looking at him with contempt visible on their faces.

And even the fact that he was unconscious, likely due to the backlash from that powerful form, didn't stop Lance Varay from conjuring ice shackles over his wrists and legs.

But Olfred assured Arthur that the council would be lenient on him, considering he had virtually no part to play in Lucas' death.

But when asked about the fate of Fayden, Olfred remained silent.

And that was answer enough for Arthur.

Although he has faith his 'benefactor' would show up in time.

~Meanwhile in a different dimension~

Sitting on a chair and leaning over a U-shaped table, a man with long black hair tied up in a ponytail sighs as he gazes at the holographic screen in the middle of the table.

"He's gotten himself into quite a situation." He mumbles.

"That he has." Another man with brown eyes and grayish black medium length hair flowing town to his neck commented.

"So, does anyone volunteer to help him out?" A fairly young man, compared to the others in the room, with short white hair and bluish-silver eyes added.

""I do!""

Both the ponytail bearing man and a familiar white haired woman spoke in tandem.

"You sure about this Noctis? Last time you went there, you were lost for centuries." The white haired youth commented.

"Oh, don't be a worrywart, let him go. He's taken a liking to this human has he not?" Said a fairly curvaceous woman with black hair flowing down her spine and forest green eyes.

"Yes, I am sure about this Azrul. And yes, I have taken a liking to Fayden as you put it, Xena. But that is not the only reason." Noctis replies.

"Is this really necessary?" Another man asked, this one had pure white, chin length hair and black eyes. He looked particularly bored.

"It is," Noctis replied, "He has that within him, and we can't just let centuries of work go down the drain like that."

"I'm still confused, what possessed you to entrust a mere child with such a dangerous object?" The green eyed woman chimed in, "No child should uphold such a burden." Her voice had a tinge of pity in it.

"I'm with you on this one, I don't know what my husband was thinking when he chose to do that." Sierra added.

Noctis sighs, "Fine, it was him who suggested that. I did object at first, but I couldn't deny his order. Yet I was still curious as to why he was so interested in a human child who hadn't even been in this world for 4 years. So I observed him for anything that might give me a clue. And other than him awakening at a fairly early age, I found nothing. That is when I decided to check his very soul."

"What did you find?" Jason enquired.

Noctis looks at all 5 of them dead in the eye and responded, "Imagine my surprise when I saw a 40 year old soul residing in a 4 year old body."
