Demon Subjugation Pt.2

We were walking through the forest that was given the name "Lyngle's Darkness." Cringy I know, but it is what it is. This forest is where some of the strongest monsters in the country dwell.

Some catastrophe rank monsters also dwell in parts of the forest. The thing is, this forest is absolutely gigantic. It wasn't the one I started in, but it looked a bit like it.

We walked through the forest with everyone on edge clutching their weapons and staffs. I was walking calmly in the back with my hand resting on my sword handle. We haven't encountered anything yet, but that wouldn't last long.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

We heard huge stomps that made the ground shake a bit and us bounce up a bit. Well I didn't, after all I'm still carrying a sword that weigh a few thousand tons. The trees were falling and something huge was coming our way.

This monster or whatever was something that wasn't in the manga and I honestly wasn't even surprised anymore. Then again I've never seen this monster before.

I could lead see it even though it was far away and covered by the forest. The monster looked like a huge troll with a stony texture and trees coming from its back. It had gray skin and sharp teeth although it was covered in blood at the moment.

It looked to be at least 50ft tall. Not that that was anything. After all the valley snake was way bigger and most likely stronger. This thing didn't have a weapon on him and could either use magic or was just that strong.

Meh, nothing to be alarmed about really…well for me. Everyone got serious and the captain was already calling out orders and formations. I was up at the front with the other swordsman.

"Have you ever seen this type of monster before?" Some random asked me. I just shook my head and took out my sword.

"It's nothing to worry about though." I said calmly.

ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRR

The monster must have sensed us and I can clearly hear it's steps speed up. It came close enough that we could see it through all of its destruction. The forest wasn't effected at all though.

The monster was now clearly being seen by everyone and they all took a step back. Of course it was oozing with killing intent mainly directed at me. If I had to guess it's probably because I just flicked it off.

Now people might be thinking that's a dumb move with all those people behind you but not really. If it attacked me out of rage I could dispose it faster. And luckily enough that's just what it did.

It threw a punch at me but the size of the fist would be enough to hit five of us. Too bad his hand suddenly turned to nothing but some pebbles before getting the chance to touch us.

I slashed at its entire arm 400 times in the blink of an eye making sure that the rock fragments are small enough to do no damage. Yet another surprise was revealed m.

It was just a golem, well a oversized one. Maybe a scout from the demon army. They were seen in the manga to make some monsters fight for them. Maybe that was the case with this one as well.

While I sat here thinking that harem guy ordered the mages to fire spells to restrain him, while the swordsman made direct contact.

He said no holding back.

'Usually golems have a core if I'm not wrong. So this one should have multiple. Like joints maybe.' I thought as I grabbed my swords hilt. I breathed in and used [Flash Step] to appear right in front of the head.

I then cut its head off then used [Quick Draw] to cut the head in half effectively cutting the core as well. The rest of the golem froze and then collapsed to the ground shaking it as he dropped. Everyone cleared away from it as I fell and landed on its stomach.

"Seems like we weren't needed." Someone said and everyone else looked away in some form of embarrassment or shame. Some were determined to catch up to me.

The guy with the harem came up to me with them and I looked at them as I sheathed my sword.

"Awww~ I was hoping to see it turn to ashes like the rumors~" Said harem girl number 3.

"It's not a living organism. It's a golem that was most likely made by the demons as a scout." I informed him.

"Is there any proof of that." He said sternly. I guess he was mad that he couldn't show off for his harem. I just pointed to the green core that's on the ground. It was cut in half and most likely used as the main or only power source for the golem to operate.

He nodded and went back to the group, I got off the golem and watched them leave.

"Are you not coming back with us?" Asked yet another one of his harem members. Her voice was squeaky like a kids.

"Nah, imma clean this up then come back." I said and turned around gathering a fireball in my hand.

"…" She didn't reply, but nodded after taking another peek at my fireball. It was like a small dot, but in reality this could easily clear out the whole forest. I wasn't actually going to clean it up.

Like I said this thing contains more than one core, and I could salvage the golem to make something else. I knocked on the golem's stomach softly and it cracked up before the rock like skin broke off.

There were two more cores. One in the area a heart would be and about in the stomach. I took them and put it into my storage and burned a large portion of the ground and rock to make it seem like I melted the golem to nothing, but magma.

I then made my way back to the kingdom's gates where everyone was still waiting. Once they saw me they asked questions about the golem and I just told them I cleaned it up. No further questions were asked till we got inside the guild.

"Ash blade. You received an important piece of mail today." Said a receptionist. I walked to the counter and got the letter. It was stamped with the royal crest.

I opened it as I walked back to my seat at a table. It was from the queen herself.

Dear Ash Blade,

The royal family of Lyngle would like to have an audience with you at the royal palace. I do hope you accept this request as we want to speak of something important.

I nodded and put the it into my storage. Honestly I'm just using it as a trash can at this point. I was about to get up to leave, but I kept feeling someone gaze at me. It was whatever that guys name is harem girl number three.

It was already getting uncomfortable so I was about to leave anyway.

As I walked towards the palace gates they were guarded by four guards. They were about to open their mouths to say something till I flashed my crest at them and they moved aside as the gates opened.

I yawned as I passed through them. Honestly this would is getting boring. No one to test my powers on no one to fight and I might end up in some annoying drama that I don't want.

I walked into the palace doors and immediately was met by maids. The shock on their faces wasn't even hidden as they looked at me wide eyed. I guess it was from my age. After all a qualified twelve year old S-rank is never heard of. Wait till they find out I'm just nine or ten..fuck it I'm ten.

"Right this way sir." Said one of the maids as they both excoriated me into a private room. Sitting on the table in the middle of two couches that sat opposite of each other was a orb.

It looked like one of the cores that I have. It was red in color while I had a black one and a yellow one. I sat down on the couch and put my sword into my storage.

"Is there anything you want?" They asked.

"Some tea and maybe a piece of cake would be good." I said. The nodded and opened the door to leave. I sat in the room alone just looking around.

I got board soon so I decided to have some fun.

I used my fire magic and water magic to make small dragons to fight. They threw out small attacks like water breathes and fire breathes along with some scratches.

Another thing is that I'm not controlling them at all. It's like a cpu making them fight. I learned how to do it a while ago just letting my magic roam. They provided excellent entertainment till I heard a knock on the door.

"We're coming in." Said a voice. It was the king, his wife, and their daughter. The door opened and they walked in all elegantly and sat down. They bowed their heads at me.

"Thank you for accepting this request." Said the king and queen in unison. They looked back up at me then the dragons fighting around my head. I made them go away and waved my hand.

"It's no problem, so what's the issue?" I asked leaning forward.

The maids came in with my cake and tea then left quickly.

"We used this ball, to look out beyond our boarders, but we caught wind of something terrible. The demons army is on the river outside of our boarder. They're building a bridge to cross over." He said.

"So you want me to go and kill the demons, before the bridge is done being made?" I asked.

"Lord no, we wanted to see if you could quickly destroy it and come back that's all." The queen corrected. Now that I'm thinking about it. This is the same thing that happened in the manga with Rose.

"Yeah, I can get it done." I said and stood up to leave.

"Thank you again, but I wasn't expecting the same person that saved us to be the "Ash Blade." Said the queen. The kid was quiet, but nodded her head.

"He's the one that saved you as well?!" The king blurted out. They had a whole talk and I just stood there watching.

"Thank you. If not for you my wife and daughter would be dead." He said with a deep bow. At least the king is as good as he is in the manga and not some huge ass manipulator. I nodded and was excoriated out.

'I feel like going on a rampage, so maybe I'll do a little more than just destroy the bridge.' I thought. I've been having a rather strong feeling to fight lately and keeping that feeling down is getting hard.
