CHAPTER 4: FAMILY- THE BOND OF LOVE
Having suffered a lot from rich friends, Kamalesh aims to become rich in his future life. He is largely impacted with the status of middle-class and henceforth, shelves off his dreams of becoming IPS officer.
Having been affected by the COVID-19 lockdowns, his college is going through online mode. Besides studying course of B.Com (Accounting and Finance), Kamalesh also studies his Chartered accountancy as a side by course. According to the viewpoint of Kamalesh, he wants to be honest for earning and respects his father Kasi Raman a lot, whom he means as his world…
While, Kamalesh keeps disintegrating his mother since, she has been a hurdle in all of his activities. Indeed, Kamalesh aims to become richer mainly, because of his relatives and in order to stand besides them powerful, he is doing a hard work…
The 3 years, where he is studying, he has took so many as his inspirations…Ratan Lal Tata and Sundar Pichai were his main inspirations. Besides aiming to do business activities, he also aims to give large benefits for rural and middle-class people so that their income can be improvised…
3 years after the course, Kamalesh applies for M.B.A in Business Process Services, after a two-long years of studies, he joins in TATA groups with a salary of 8,00,000 as a Chartered Accountant in United States of America.
For six to eight years, he gains the knowledge and experience on how to run a business sector, how to supervise the employees and how to manage the superiors, income tax department forces. Besides these things, the main thing which Kamalesh had learnt was money doesn't matters and the respect which we have in the society matters a lot…
Between these eight years, Kamalesh's father chooses a bride for Kamalesh named Dhivya, with the help of his friends and they got married. Having been learnt the business methods, he decides to set up an own enterprise in USA and then in India, once seeing it's success.
But, before this, he plans to see the top business sectors in USA and after learning those for 2 months, Kamalesh starts up his Exports business in Food Manufacturing, through which he sold sandalwood, rice, fruits and Chili powders. Starting as a small store in Washington, Kamalesh raises up his business to a large enterprise after a five long years.
But, was it an easy task for this guy? No. It was a difficult process. Since, he has to face several challenges and hurdles when he is developing his business to a large enterprise. Facing and overcoming all those troubles, he becomes a successful businessman in USA.
Now, Kamalesh has a son named Akhil, who is now a 2-year old child and with him and Dhivya, with his father also, they goes to India, where he plans to expand the business empires and gains legal permissions for exports-imports business in India, like USA.
Kamalesh started his business activities when he was 36 years and now 25 years have passed since his business days and now he is 61 years old. His son Akhil, now a grown up youngster is a charming and genuine guy, who is studying in IIM college near to Hyderabad, while his father and family are settled in Saravanampatti near Coimbatore district.
As we never expected, now Kamalesh lives in a big bungalow consisting of his father (the family head, sits in a wheel-chair due to paralysis) and his wife, with his business partners also forming as his family. His company, Kasi Groups is currently present in all over India, USA, UK and Japan, where they runs 12 restaurants, 5 Iron exports companies and 12 Food manufacturing units…
As told, Kamalesh has benefitted the group of middle class families living in all over India and in fact, has contributed so many employment opportunities for youngsters living in India…
Except for Pollachi, which he hates though being his hometown and whenever a guy comes from there for employment, Kamalesh sends them off without any reasons…He is also anger with Akhil for not being responsible and serious in his decisions…
Since, he has worked a lot in order to gain this position from day 1 to present, while his son is careless by going to social welfare activities and taking part to develop villages, which he hates to the core…
Kamalesh expresses this to his father, who tells him, "Kamalesh. Let him do what he wishes. Don't force him. You also don't worry. I will talk to him"
"Ok dad. I believe your words. Don't forget to advise my son" said Kamalesh…
Akhil, who has come to his home now after two years, meets his grandfather in order to seek his blessings…and he touches the feet of his grandfather…
"God bless you, my dear. Have you Completed your studies?" asked his grandfather…
"Yes, grandpa. I has completed. Planning to expand our business to the next level. Before that, I have to speak with you, grandpa?" asked Akhil…
"Yes. Tell me, my grandson" said his grandfather.
"Do we have any relatives in common?" asked Akhil.
"No da. We don't have such people. Only our business partners are your relatives" said his grandfather…
"Shall I tell you one more news grandpa?" asked Akhil.
"Yes Akhil. Please tell me" said Akhil's grandfather.
(Narration is told by Akhil, that happened during his college days)
Before three years, when I was studying in the IIM university in Hyderabad, he has met a girl named Vaishnavi, a girl from Semmedu, near Pollachi, to whom he was attracted a lot. Initially, we had a misunderstanding at the beginning…
But, later on, we both became close friends, when I saved her from ragging and few thugs. Indeed, since she hailed from a village, she doesn't had the exposure to the urban world and he had shown her all the ways for it and made her adjusted to the urban culture…
All were going smoothly, until one day, she learns that I am the son of Kamalesh and since he is the CEO of a big MNC company and I, being the son of Kamalesh, she avoided me for one week, telling to some reasons…
"Vaishnavi. Stop. Why are you avoiding me?" Any problems or reasons?" I asked her out of curiosity.
"Nothing Akhil. Due to some works. Nothing of other sorts" said Vaishnavi…
"Ok. Fine Vaishnavi" I said to her.
"Mm" said Vaishnavi…
"Vaishnavi" I called her.
She turned to me.
"I love you, Vaishu. We are smiling together, speaking together. Hence, when we both are together, we can be happier" I said to her…
"We can never be together Akhil. Do you know your hometown?" she had asked me.
"You don't know. Because, you didn't grow up without knowing about your hometown. Pollachi is your hometown" she said to me…
"How did you know about my hometown? Who told you?" I asked her out of curiosity…
"I too had grown up in that place only. Having been brought up and born in the hometown and forget the homeland, you are the son of such an arrogant businessman Kamalesh…while, I am the daughter of your uncle Krishnamurthy, the village chief head and your father's cousin brother. I will leave da. Bye" she said to me…
(The flashback ends)
"Hence, I has come straightly to our place after my graduation got completed" said Akhil to his grandfather…
"I am very happy to hear that you met your father's cousin" said Akhil's grandfather…
"Actually, what happened grandpa? Why is our father hating Pollachi? While he is giving several employment opportunities to other rural and urban places, he is refusing to accept many of youngsters from Pollachi. Why?" asked Akhil…
"I was the reason for your father's hatred to Pollachi, grandson" said Akhil's grandfather…
"What? Are you?" asked Akhil.
"Yes, grandson" said his grandfather…
(Another flashback begins)
"Shortly after Kamalesh, I and your mother came back to India with you, we got the permission for our Export-Import business activities. After that, we came to Coimbatore and my son started his business sectors in Pollachi. He had also planned to adopt and develop rural places like Urban places, after he found out the struggles of middle-class and rural in the city. Because, he wanted everyone around him to get developed, besides his development. Hence, He started the business and developed it, offering more employment opportunities to the people of Pollachi and they had been largely benefitted by this"
"However, your father got a sudden tragic twist. Some influential men in our hometown didn't liked your father's development and henceforth, burned his company with their henchmen. In further, they also burned the flats, which your father built for the middle-class…He was accused for the fire accident and in further, was sent to prison for three years…Unable to bear the shock, I got paralyzed…No one from our family side or our village side didn't support your father…He went away from that place and proceeded to develop his business empire but, never stopped his social services, after being requested by me. But, he never thinks about Pollachi, once after my paralysis and also avoided contacts with our relatives"

"Grandpa. I really, feel proud about my father. From childhood, we had suffered a lot. The steps that he had took in his everyday life was also appreciable. Because, he doesn't wished to see his future generations suffering like him with the status of middle-class…Even in childhood, my father told that, I should not show me as his son and still now I am following this footpaths…I am planning to take his business empire to the next level, grandpa…Bless me" said Akhil…
"God bless you, my dear grandson" said his grandfather.
The next day, when Akhil was preparing himself to join in a company, he tries to see his grandfather, but he didn't wake up and is dead. After few days, he joins a private company and learns the struggles and challenges in the business empire for few months, without revealing his identity to anyone…
After one year, Akhil takes over his father's business empire and develops it into further for 75,000 Billion dollars from 25,000 Billion dollars. Now, Akhil decides to expand his business empire to Pollachi, his rural hometown and develop the village…However, in order to manage his father, he lies that, this is an industrial trip arranged by them to Udumalaipet and reaches the place…
It is here, Akhil realizes that there are lots more to change in his village. Because, many youngsters are jobless and some are addicted to TASMAC bars and hence, he first decides to stop this by creating a social awareness in the city…
After creating an awareness, Akhil establishes his venture and makes everyone live happily by giving them the flats and other benefits, similar to his father…One day, Vaishnavi's father, that is, Akhil's uncle notices the company name ran by Akhil and he feels proud to see his village youngsters, being employed in the company…
Henceforth, he takes Akhil to his house near to Anaimalai, a beautiful place surrounded by Western Ghats, having full of agricultural lands and many other things popular in the places…He feels happier for staying in the village and experiences the village atmosphere slowly…
Indeed, Vaishnavi also learns about the arrival of Akhil to develop Pollachi through her father. He further tells her that, he very well knows, Akhil is Kamalesh's son. Later on, Akhil is taken by Vaishnavi's father to Semanampathy forests, which was once the lands of his grandfather and forefathers…
"What's this uncle?" asked Akhil…
"Your father's agricultural land and my uncle, that is, your grandfather and forefather's ancestral lands" said Vaishnavi's father…
"Did you already know that, I am Kamalesh's son?" asked Akhil…
"I know this, once after seeing the company's logo, Akhil. Indeed, I also know that your grandfather, i.e., my uncle had died. Before he died, he spoke with me and revealed everything to me. Further, I learned that, you have come to develop the employment opportunities. So be careful, when you are doing this work" said Vaishnavi's father…
"Ok uncle…Who takes care of our ancestral land?" asked Akhil…
"Your father only…Though, he never stepped into Pollachi for these 25 years…He had indeed, came through Kerala borders and took care of these lands…Still now, he hates us" said Vaishnavi's father.
Akhil is relieved that, his uncle doesn't know about his love with Vaishnavi and thanks his grandfather for that in the sky…She is indeed angry with Akhil for coming to Pollachi and asks him to leave as soon as possible…
However, Vaishnavi eventually gives up her ego and anger, when Akhil manages to reconcile the estranged family of her father's by speaking to them about the importance of a family and love…She and Akhil eventually reconciles…
Akhil's development progress makes some of the influential men and money lenders jealousy, who had made the village people as their slaves. They hence, calls Kamalesh and informs regarding these things, who is now taking care of the Company branches in Coimbatore…
Eventually, some goons attacks Akhil fatally in the Anaimalai reserved forests and he is rescued by the village people, who takes him to the nearby hospital, which was indeed developed by Akhil, with the funds from his company, which he took for developing the health and fitness in the rural villages of Pollachi…
Every people, children and students gather around the hospital where, Akhil is taking his treatment…They are benefitted largely, because he had started schools, trusts and institutions in Pollachi over 5 months prior to his business establishments…In addition, he had created much more awareness and motivations…
Vaishnavi is shattered and upset, who begs the doctors to save him, because she is her life but, they can only do their best…When being asked by her family, she tells, "I and Akhil loved sincerely dad. We both were close…Only after when I learned that, he is the son of Kamalesh, I had left him…I further avoided him after he had came here…But, I saw his determination to develop our place…He is good more than us" which makes her father proud, although he had learned it before…
Now, Kamalesh and his family comes to Pollachi and sees Akhil's condition…Now, he addresses his anger to his people…
"Mm. This place has not changed and you have also not changed. You are all living…Live…My only son, da. Only son. Let my son to live his life, da. You all have killed me on half and made my father also paralyzed, making him half-dead…You know one thing, before dying he thought about our Pollachi…but, if he had seen this situation for my son, he could have died instantly…Thank god, he had left peacefully…What's there in this place! Our village, our town, we have to live somehow…Live pa…Live…have you all ever lived a peaceful life? No…Hey…Till my death, till your end of life, I will feed you all…I will take the expenses for developing this place…but, if anything happens to my son…I will never live you anyone alive…Send my son da…Please" said Kamalesh…
Vaishnavi's father hears this in pity and the villagers agrees to let Akhil go from Pollachi…
"Kamalesh! Cool da…Please Control your emotions, da" said his friend, the business partner…
Vaishnavi comes to the place and hears the emotional speech of Kamalesh…
"I have heard that because of you only, my son had come to Pollachi, ma…I furthermore heard that he likes you a lot. If you can, please come back from this place, ma. Here afterwards he doesn't have any relationships with this place" said Kamalesh…
Akhil slowly recovers and under the request of Vaishnavi and her father, with the villagers, he agrees to go out from Pollachi and continues the business empire of his father in Coimbatore…However, he doesn't have a happy and enjoying moments with his family members…
This makes Kamalesh upset and he stops Akhil in his house…
"Akhil. I thought you will change your mind and spend happy moments with us by giving your time. But, days after days, you are distancing yourself from us. Will you not even change ah, da?" asked Kamalesh.
"I am trying to change…I am changing myself" said Akhil…
"I wanted you to forget Pollachi. Hence, I brought you back, here. Please da. You don't need that place" said Kamalesh…
"You managed to bring me back to this place…But, you was unable to make me forget the place, which I have closely in my heart" said Akhil…
"Cha. What had you found in that place, da? Your parents are here, Your family is here and your soul with everything lies here" said Kamalesh…
"But, we both have our souls in that place only dad. I am pretending to be happy but, I am not here. Besides our family, I consider everyone's growth as my growth, dad…Sorry to say this…My grandpa told me that, you considered other's growth also as an important…How much happy was I you know dad…If we do that, it's a happiest thing…Since, nobody supported you on that embarrassing situation, you came back from that place in anger…But, now they are happier that, you have attained a big status…They are also our family…When I was in Office, I remembered how much youngsters like me are unemployed and suffering…I am unable to tell anything, dad…Since, you gave me soul, I cannot make you happy…I am not a good son for you, dad. If I can, I will come to meet you on your birthday…Live me for this generation alone, dad" said Akhil…
Everyone feels emotional and Kamalesh says, "Everyone used to say me that, I have got a beautiful son…But, I have got a good son…Let's go Akhil…" after realizing how bad and harsh he was with his relatives for these many years…
Akhil and his family, with Kamalesh meets Vaishnavi and her family, where Kamalesh apologizes to his relatives and they all reconciles happily…After few days, Akhil retakes his company in Pollachi and develops it into further, while the gangsters and influential men realizes that they can now no more defeat him and let's the thing go away, because they have realized that love binds all…
Akhil marries Vaishnavi with his relatives and family's blessings and they all takes a group photo and the photographer finally writes in the album that, "Family: The Bond of Love."
"Love binds all, finally…Is it Vaishu, dear?" asked Akhil…
"Yes Akhil" said Vaishnavi...and the duo hugs…and later spends time with their family members, who have all planned to go for a trip to Bangalore, as a tribute to enjoy this reunion…
