"And who is this?" Rebecca crossed her arms and questioned me.
"The usual black mamba mercenary crony."
Rosaline was already back to her and I brought the sleeping black mamba mercenary to the leader of our group.
I explained everything that happened to Rebecca. As I retold the events that transpired with as much detail as I could remember, Rebeca's expression turned uglier by the second. Oh boy, she is pissed.
"Son of a bitch!"
Rebecca pounded the wall with her fist. The wall cracked a little from her punch.
"You're gonna have to pay for that you know?" I said.
"I know! I'll pay for it!!"
From the corner of the room, Mason whistled at Rebecca. He was catcalling her.
Rebecca glared at Mason while channeling a flaring energy of magenta Aura.
"Alright alright... I'm sorry." Mason was thoroughly intimidated by Rebecca's anger. He put his hands up in the air to showcase his surrender.
Rebecca's gaze moved away from Mason and back to me.
"Is that everything?"
I nodded. I said nothing but the truth. Didn't have a reason to lie. Told Rebecca about how Rosaline fought back too. Something tells me she'd know if I hide the truth anyway.
"So, what're we gonna do?"
Rebecca took a deep breath to calm herself then sat down to think.
Her eyes swept and scanned everyone in the room. First, the dumbass Mason, Rachel, the 5 other knights, then me.
She rested her chin on her palm.
How long is she going to think? I'm starting to get bored. It's already late at night and I want to sleep.
"You," Rebecca pointed a finger at me.
"Me?" I asked to clarify.
"Yes, you! Who else am I pointing at?!" She suddenly raised her voice.
Jesus fucking christ is she on her period or something?
"*Sigh*. Anyway, Luka... you have the same height and same eye color as the Lady."
"Sure, but what's that supposed to do with anything?"
The corners of her lips slowly bent upwards to form a sinister smile.
A jolt shot up my spine. My instincts were sending signals to run away.
"GET 'IM BOYS!!"
Everyone in the room, save for Rebecca and Rachel, suddenly pounced on me.
Quickly, I created an omnidirectional blast of wind to push back the knights.
Before they could recover, I sprinted out of the room and exited the inn as fast as possible. There were still hundreds of people parading outside, so I was hoping to hide among them.
I dove into the sea of drunken party animals. I didn't wear my cloak this time so I was careful in covering my eyes just enough so that I can still see.
But, I didn't expect to find Rebecca literally to be right behind me.
When I felt a presence behind me, I quickly turned around to blast air. But I wasn't fast enough.
Before I could even realize it, I was knocked out cold.
***
"Kuhuhuhuhuhu!!!"
I woke up to the sound of giggling.
"Mhmm... where... what?"
I groggily lifted my head up and inspected where I was. I was lying on a bed but...
No fucking way...!
"WHY AM I WEARING A DRESS?!?!"
Then I saw a strand of silver elegantly and gently fall off my forehead, but it didn't completely fall to the ground.
I grabbed the top of my head, feeling the long hair.
"IS-... IS THIS A WIG? WHY DO I HAVE A WIG?!"
"Hihihi!"
From my left, I heard a giggle.
Turning my head in that direction, I glared at who was responsible for this.
However, I saw only myself. No...
I saw someone that looked exactly like me. From the height, the gray hair, the tailcoat suit, even the small scar I got on my lower left cheek from one of my...*ahem*... tests.
Alright, I won't beat around the bush. Weiss gave me some assassination missions in between my butler job and training sessions. Never really complained about it. I just appreciated the battle experience I accumulate.
Back to this situation where I haven't wrapped my head around it yet.
This kid looks like me but... that giggle I heard. I'll never mistake that voice in this lifetime.
"Rosaline?"
"Yeah! It's me. Hehe!"
If she looks like then... no
No no no no no!!
I glanced around, looking for a mirror. The knights, Rebecca, Mason, and Rachel entered my sight. They were all surrounding the bed I was on.
Eventually, I found a hand-sized mirror on a nightstand next to the bed.
I took it and peered at my reflection.
What I saw was the face of a beautiful girl with golden eyes and shimmering locks of silver hair. It's Rosaline... I'm Rosaline...
The face is the face of same kid I've known for the past year. The flawless pale skin, the silver eyebrows, and the scar is buried behind some kind of powder.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!?!"
Then I remembered what happened before I went out cold. Rebecca...
I glared at Rebecca in the room.
"What. Is. Happening." I grumbled through my teeth.
Rebecca crossed her arms and smiled.
"This is my plan."
"What plan?! Dressing me up as Rosaline?"
"Uh-huh," Rebecca then nodded her head.
"Then how does Rosaline look exactly like me? Even the scar on the cheek is identical..."
Rebecca chuckled, then her chuckle slowly transitioned into a laugh.
"Never underestimate a woman's capacity for makeup you newbie!!" She shouted as she pointed at me.
Rebecca then explained her glorious plan while I was still staring daggers into her skull.
Apparently, I was to disguise myself as Rosaline temporarily. The kidnappers would then attempt to abduct me, to which I will allow them to. The knights will then follow the abductors to their hideout and we annihilate the bastards from the inside and outside. The knights will raid the hideout from outside and I fuck them up from the inside.
Rebecca already interrogated the black mamba guy I took to her. So we know when and where they'll ambush us the next time. She couldn't extract info on where their hideout is though.
When I asked why she didn't get information regarding their hideout, she merely looked away. The other knights in the room showed faces of disappointment and embarrassment.
I could already guess what happened. Rebecca probably accidentally killed the guy when torturing him for info.
Sigh... this stupid crossdressing shit could've been avoided if Rebecca showed some restraint.
