Strange Object (2)

I was confused, and rightfully so. What the fuck is that thing? The strange design isn't helping me figure out the nature of this object. And why and how is it messing with the surrounding air? Just that fact alone makes me feel creeped out by this thing somehow. It's unnatural... 

That still doesn't answer what it is. Though someone else may know.

I turned around and tried to get Luffy's attention.

"Psst!" Being careful to avoid being heard by anyone else who might be near the grate.

He heard me and looked towards me.

I nudged my head towards the grate I was at, signaling him to come here. 

As carefully as he had done before, he crawled towards me. 

"What is it?" He said, whispering.

"Look, there. There's something weird. Maybe you'd know it."

He peeked through the grate's gaps. 

Luffy stared at it for quite a while. I didn't count exactly how long but it was at least 5 minutes.
