As the malevolent transformation neared its end. Sinister shadows danced upon his skin, each writhing with the venom of his rage. In the cruel symphony of his metamorphosis, wickedly sharp, blood-red horns erupted from his skull like macabre sentinels of his twisted transformation. Their tips, sharpened to needle-like points, seemed to pierce the very fabric of the air, casting an ominous aura that whispered of darkness and malice. The crimson horns, once a symbol of his demonic heritage, now bore the stain of his vengeful descent, a stark departure from the noble guardianship they once represented. FH could feel Neons despair and knew what this meant. Desperation etched across his face as he felt the nightmarish transformation unfolding before him ."DAMMIT....snap out of it kid, you have to fight it! Remember who you are! Don't succumb to the darkness!" FH implored, his voice echoing in the desolation of the moment. But the abyss of hatred that consumed Neon's soul seemed impervious to the call of sanity. Neon's eyes, once warm with camaraderie, remained unyielding in their malevolent glow." FH was full of concern as he realized the transformation he was undergoing. "This is bad....this is very bad...." FH muttered, the weight of helplessness heavy in his words. As the tension in the air became at its peak. Neons malevolent transformation reached its harrowing climax....
(Present time - 20th of January)
"Mr Maximus Whitewood....he's alive!" Mr Aurelius said in shock and bewilderment. Maximus Whitewood was the head of the 3rd years, his form was stolen by the demon Mordred when Neon was being trialled in the courtroom. Because his form was taken and the true Maximus Whitewood was nowhere to be seen. Almost everyone including Mr Aurelius believed he had perished, but what they were about to see would prove otherwise.
Mr. Whitewood emerged from the shadows, supported by two figures on either side. His once-commanding presence was reduced to a feeble attempt to stand, a testament to the trials he had endured against Mordred.
The other heads, including Mr. Aurelius, stood frozen in disbelief at the unexpected spectacle unfolding before them. The room fell into a stunned silence, broken only by the shuffling steps of Mr. Whitewood.
Suddenly, the stifling quiet was shattered by an eruption of joy. The 3rd year students, who had resigned themselves to the loss of their respected leader, burst into cheers at the sight of Mr. Whitewood's survival. It was a symphony of relief and elation, echoing through the halls as a beacon of hope.
Amidst the jubilation, Mr. Cardinell, unable to contain his disbelief, approached Mr. Aurelius with a hearty laugh. "He's alive, haha! I thought he was a goner. This calls for celebration, haha!"
Mr. Aurelius, his eyes reflecting a mix of relief and gratitude, shared in the joyous moment. The weight of uncertainty lifted, replaced by the warmth of camaraderie. The return of Mr. Whitewood marked not only a triumph over presumed tragedy but also a celebration of resilience in the face of adversity.
"Hmmmm, I assumed the demon had killed that man." FH remarked. "Yh I agree, I thought he had died too. I mean he wasn't seen anywhere after what happened at the courtroom....but I guess he survived." Said Neon looking at whitewood with curiosity and relief.
Mr whitewood winced in pain as he stumbled on one knee struggling to find his balance. The two who had been aiding him struggled to bring him back to his feet, after all, he was a large man. Neon could see the predicament he was in and aided to help him.
Neon, the resilient student, extended a helping hand to Mr Whitewood, who was struggling to stand. The survivor, battered and bruised, accepted the gesture, and as Neon approached, something peculiar happened.
Upon catching sight of Neon, a flicker of unease passed over the survivor's face. His eyes widened as an inexplicable sense of dread washed over him. Desperate to conceal these unfamiliar emotions, he masked his distress with a forced smile.
However, Neon, perceptive and attuned to the energies around him, sensed Mr whitewood's turmoil. With a genuine concern in his eyes, Neon inquired, "Is everything alright? You seem... troubled."
The survivor hesitated for a moment, caught in the disconcerting whirlwind of his own emotions. Neon's piercing gaze prompted a brief internal struggle, but ultimately, he decided to dismiss the unsettling feelings. "No, my child, I'm fine. Don't worry about me, haha," he replied, attempting to downplay the inner turmoil.
Neon, trusting in the survivor's reassurance, nodded understandingly. With a reassuring smile, Neon assisted the survivor in getting back on his feet and guided him toward a nearby chair. The survivor, though successful in concealing his momentary distress, couldn't shake the lingering unease he felt in the presence of Neon, a sensation he couldn't quite comprehend. As they settled, the survivor pushed aside those unsettling emotions, allowing the focus to shift to recovery. As soon as Mr whitewood sat in the chair, Lucy rushed to his side while also making sure to express her gratitude for Neons help to make him comfortable. While Lucy tended to his wounds, Neon began making his way to Riyu and Karla who gestured him to go to them.
Mr. Whitewood, observing from a distance, couldn't shake the perplexing emotions welling up within him. "What the hell was that feeling?" he muttered to himself, perplexed by the sudden surge of despair mixed with hint of rage that seemed to accompany Neon's presence.
While Neon believed the survivor's reassurance, Mr. Whitewood grappled with his own confusion, muttering in a low voice, "Why did I have a feeling of despair when looking at Neon? This doesn't make sense. And why do I sense newfound power within him. Just what exactly happened while I was unconscious" The conflicting emotions stirred within Mr. Whitewood, leaving him questioning the unexplained sensations that had surfaced in the wake of Neon's intervention.
As Neon strolled away, FH, who was observant of the situation, pointed out the peculiar reaction of Mr. Whitewood. "Did you notice how he reacted to you?" Neon, thoughtful and slightly perplexed, nodded in acknowledgment of the bizarre response.
"Yeah, why do you think he made that reaction?" Neon questioned. After thinking, FH responded. "If I had to guess, its probably because of your nephalem powers, I mean, this guy has missed a lot thats happened so it makes sense for him to be shocked at your newfound power." Said FH trying to think rationally. "Yeah I guess that makes sense." "But we do have to exercise caution, for some reason, I have this feeling that there's more to this then meets the eye, so it would be wise for us to be on our guard." Neon nodded in agreement as he also felt suspicious on the matter. Together, they debated the matter, eventually attributing it to the intricate interplay of Neon's demonic and angelic powers. It was, after all, a lot for anyone to comprehend.
Approaching his companions, Riyu and Karla, Neon's preoccupied demeanor didn't escape their notice. Karla, always direct, probed, "What's on your mind? You look worried about something." Riyu chimed in, echoing the curiosity. Neon, with a sigh, began to share his musings, expressing his surprise at Mr. Whitewood's unusual reaction.
Riyu, quick to offer an explanation, remarked, "Of course, he'll give that reaction. I mean, angels were banished to the Heavenly realm eons ago, so you having this power is very unusual." Karla nodded in agreement, their understanding providing Neon with a sense of reassurance. The mysterious blend of his celestial abilities seemed to be the source of both fascination and confusion for those around him.
As the hours ticked away, diligent hands worked together to clear the remnants of Keith's fierce demon onslaught. Esteemed faculty members and students, utilizing their unique abilities, played a crucial role in restoring order. Meanwhile, Mr. Whitewood continued to recuperate in the nurse's office.
The wearied students, despite the late hour and past curfew, was summoned for an emergency meeting in the hall. The head of the 4th years, a figure of authority and leadership, along with the military school's leader, felt compelled to share vital information. Addressing the assembly, he solemnly declared, "My dear students....the demon attack was a tragedy....a stark reminder that the forces of darkness have grown stronger. To face this looming threat, we must, in turn, grow stronger ourselves."
Acknowledging the disruption caused by the demonic assault on the Colosseum tournament, he announced the cancellation of its continuation. In its stead, a new plan emerged – a bold endeavor for all students to journey to a different planet. There, they would confront formidable creatures, honing their skills and fortifying themselves against future threats.
The head continued, outlining the intricacies of their plan. "To facilitate your growth, each year will embark on a journey to different planets. The challenges you face will correspond to the strength of creatures inhabiting those worlds." The head's voice echoed through the hall, laying out the schedule for the imminent expedition. "This expedition is set to commence in three days. During this time, you'll undergo combat tests that will determine your ranking. Your assigned number will dictate the difficulty of the planet you'll be journeying to—lower numbers facing less formidable creatures, higher numbers confronting greater challenges."
A murmur of anticipation and uncertainty swept through the assembled students. Neon, contemplating the impending tests, couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. "These tests will push us to our limits, I can finally get stronger. I did defeat an upper ranked demon, but he was formidable and one mistake would have led to death. This journey will be the key to revealing the true extent of our strength. It's a chance to grow, but the challenge is real," he mused, a flicker of determination in his eyes. "Then I guess you'll have to smash those combat tests haha" A familiar voice rang out. Neon turned to Riyu and beside him was Karla. "I'm sure those tests won't be a challenge for you though, you've gone through quite the power up after all." Karla said with a wink. "That said, we'll try our best too, that way, maybe we could all be together when we go to our designated planets." She added, with a fiery determination in her eyes. "Yeah, we won't let you leave us in the dust for long haha" Riyu added his resolve not faltering in the slightest. Neon nodded in agreement and with excitement. "Yeah, you guys are right. This is our chance to become the strongest versions of ourselves, so let's not let this opportunity go to waste." Bellowed Neon as he clasped his fists together...
