Nothing happened when he snapped his fingers, which baffled both the teams involved. "Slave… Now, you'll have to…" He looked like an idiot as he did the same thing over and over again.
"What in the world are you doing?" Tanya couldn't bear to watch the idiocy unfolding in front of her.
"Interesting, you're special. Hahaha, to think that there would be someone like you who could break my spell!" The man went on with his maniacal laugh which creeped Tanya out.
"Whatever, man. Just let the two of us go." She didn't care about whatever he had to say.
"Are you kidding me? Be my subordinate, woman! I'll let you in on the grand plan!" He said as his eyes shone.
"Not interested." Tanya decided to squash his hopes in one go.
"Let me remind you. The moment you step out of this place, I'll consider you an enemy." The man gave out his final warning to her.
"Well, fine by me." Tanya walked out of the room and headed out where she saw hundreds of people heading towards her. "What the hell?" Her feelings just got a whole lot complex as she saw this crowd.
"Didn't I tell you? This is the greeting I give to my enemies." This time, the man did not give out a warm smile—it was much more sinister.
"What the hell are you planning, you crazy bastard?" Tanya couldn't conceal her shock.
"Hmpf. You're my enemy, why would I give away my plan to my enemy. I'm not a useless secondary villain. I'm the goddamn boss monster." He pouted for a bit then laughed. Tanya couldn't quite understand his behavior.
"It's the same. These people aren't responding either—just like Meghan." Tanya noticed the similarity. All of them looked lifeless. She had no choice. Tanya took out the gun she brought and aimed it towards the mass.
"Ho? Are you gonna fight? Remember, these are innocent people. If you wanna escape from here, you're gonna have to hurt them a bit. But, can you do it? Will your good person conscience allow you to beat them?" He asked. "Hurry up, will you? If you don't attack, they will attack you."
"What shall I do? I can't hurt them. What? Just what?" She thought to herself before finding that the only place left for her to escape with her sister was above. "Found it." Suddenly, she felt some unknown power surging through her body as she jumped up high—so high that it was basically an impossible feat for a normal human.
"Ho, interesting. Very interesting! She's able to use the power as well!" The man was just enjoying what he saw.
"What the hell is happening? What is this power?" She couldn't grasp any information about this power that let her swing with one hand and jump from heights which were previously unimaginable. "Well, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, might as well use it." The power seemed to grace her right at the opportune moment, so she felt fortunate as she used it.
"Wardlow, isn't this nice? We get to hunt this time!" The man licked his lips as he stepped forth with his butler.

After an hour-long chase and the realization that the two guys in front aren't normal, Tanya was facing the gunpoint of the person who promised that he'd spare her precious little sister. In that one moment, her entire life which brimmed with useless stuff rolled before her which caused immense regret. Yet, at that moment, she was ready to receive the bullet—rather, she was happy to take it on her sister's behalf. However, no shot was heard yet.
"Wow, it's raining!" The guy shouted joyfully as he stuck out his tongue once to taste the falling rain like the weirdo that he is.
"Why the hell isn't this guy shooting? Should I escape now?" Tanya thought to herself as she scanned the area for possible escape routes.
"Rain always brings a more dramatic effect, right? This is perfect! Wardlow, do I look like a stereotypical bad guy now?" The guy asked his butler, who gave him a thumbs up. "Shit, even nature wants me to be a bad guy, huh. So be it. And here you go. This is for you thinking about escaping." He shot at her right away.
"How did he…? Well, whatever." Tanya closed her eyes as if to brace the impact yet she faced no such impact. "Wait, he shot the bullet, didn't he? Then why?"
"Oops. Didn't think this girl would get in the way." The man let a villainous smirk out of his face.
"What? Wait!" She knew what happened when she opened her eyes and saw her sister's body across her. Meghan took the bullet instead of her. "NO! Meghan! What were you thinking? Why did you do that?" Tanya let out a cry as she spoke.
"It's my turn to save you, sis." Meghan smiled as she spoke.
"No—not like this. Why does it always end up like this? You've always been saving me. Why didn't you let me save you this once?" Tears continued rolling down her cheeks as she spoke.
"Wow, this is amazing! Not just one; both of these sisters broke through my spell! What do you think, Wardlow?" The man clapped his hands in appreciation of this feat.
This action irked Tanya off. "Don't you have any concern for life? How dare you stand and laugh while a person is dying here?" She sounded furious.
"Huh? Why won't I laugh? Are you angry at me that I shot your sister? Well, it's her bird brain that made her jump before the bullet to save you. Sure, it's amazing that she broke out of the spell, but she's still the idiot who chose to waste the life that you handed her. It's not me, it's her you should blame this on." The man, who laughed like an idiot just before, became extremely serious as he spoke.
Tanya chose not to listen to him anymore and focused on Meghan. "Wait for a bit, Meg. Your sister will save you. Don't close your eyes yet." She tried to grab her sister's body and run towards the nearest hospital.
However, the man stopped her from doing so. "Don't bother. It's just gonna make her suffer if you drag out her eventual death. Just let her die." There was no emotion in his voice as he said that. He simply didn't care.
