"And do you know what she said?" This time, it was the voice asking Tanya.
Tanya slowly turned back to find her sister there, who was now in spirit form. This was an event from her childhood that she cherished and yet wanted to forget at the same time. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she said the exact words she said that day. "This is what I found. When a mortal and a spirit long to meet each other, sometimes their wish to meet grows too strong that it transcends the realm of living and dead. Just like me and Charlie. Now, promise me…" She extended her little finger and so did Meghan.
"This will be our secret." They both said simultaneously.
"I missed you." It was Tanya. She hugged her sister.
"Same here, sis." Meghan hugged back. After talking about a bunch of gibberish like feelings, sadness, guilt, and all, Meghan came to much more pressing questions. "Then how did you meet up with Chuck?"
"Well, we wished to meet each other as I said," Tanya replied.
Meg had her doubts. "But, you didn't know him beforehand, right?" She asked.
"Well, he wanted a friend. I was that friend. And vice versa." She smiled. But then she frowned in the next instance. "But, I don't know where he is these days. I just hope he's fine."
"Sure he is. Hey, isn't that the pendant I gifted you way back in seventh grade." Meghan changed the subject flawlessly as if she had something to hide.
"Yup, it's the same," Tan-Tan replied.
"Gosh! If I knew you'd wear it for oh so long years, I would've brought a really nice one." Meghan laughed.
Tanya was in no mood to laugh—she didn't want to laugh. But seeing her sister laugh so heartily, Tanya began to laugh too. With each passing moment, the laughter grew louder and so did her happiness. It grew so loud that Ambrogio joined in the fray.
"So, I just got something to do—we gotta go." He said. "Hey, are you fine?" He suddenly asked.
"I'm fine, why?" She acted puzzled.
"No, I just heard someone laughing. Maybe it was my imagination." He replied, scratching his head.
"Of course, it was." Tanya laughed.
Ambrogio chose not to reply. He looked at her with pity. Losing her only sister; coming to her grave with her killer; spewing nonsense in front of the grave and laughing hard before the same grave for no reason. He had no idea how to cope with a person with such complex emotions in her, to say the least. Little did he know about the existence of Meghan's spirit.
"Whoo! Just in the nick of time. Hey, are you and this dude friends now?" Meghan, who was nowhere to be seen, asked. Tanya could still hear her voice in her mind.
"Well, things happened. I'll tell that to you in detail. But, where are you right now? Are you gonna go since your last wish is fulfilled?" She asked.
"The hell are you talking about? I possessed the pendant." Meg replied.
"Ah, I forgot that you could possess an object with shared memory," Tanya said with awe. She stroked the pendant a few times and asked. "By the way, what exactly was your last wish then?"
"I just crammed some together," Meg replied with a laugh.
"List it."
"Well, I wanted to meet you." She listed the first wish.
"That's dealt with."
"I wanted to go on some sort of adventure with you." She stated the second.
Tanya thought for a bit and said, "Well, we're going on a journey to meet God…So, yea. That as well!"
"Whoa! That just came out of nowhere." Meghan was surprised by the sudden revelation.
But Tanya decided that was not the time. "I'll tell you about that later. Next."
"I want to help you at least once." She told her third wish.
"Aww, so sweet." Tanya was nearly in tears. "But, this is no simple cramming! You flipping filled the last wish quota. You're too smart for yourself."
"Well, I did know the requirements of the last wish pretty early on!" Meghan inwardly thanked her sister for that.
"Very well. Any more left?" She asked.
"Yea and I wanna see mom one last time," Meghan stated her final wish that circled around in Tanya's mind for quite a bit.
"Hmm. We'll keep the last wish for the end. The other ones seem pretty reasonable for me right now." Tanya said since she was in no mood to see her mom now.
"Well, it does seem like my glow faded a bit. Guess my one wish has been fulfilled by meeting you." Meghan said.
"And the second one would soon be complete too," Tanya assured.
"Yea, the glow seemed to flicker at times." She replied. "By the way, I'll take a rest and not talk to you for a while. The scary dude has been looking at you for a while. He looks concerned since you've not talked in a while."
"Guess I could have a chat with him. Bye, sis." She looked at Ambrogio, who was looking at her a while ago but had his head turned away at that time. "Hey, so I didn't ask anything since you looked like you were in a hurry. Where are we even going?" She asked.
"Ah—you'll see." Ambrogio laughed and replied.
"Why did I even think of holding a full-length conversation with this idiot when all he does is this? Maybe, I'm an idiot after all." Tanya face-palmed herself this time, since she had no one else to blame for than herself.
