Everything happened in quick successions. So, Ambrogio never really got what exactly was happening. It was all a haze for him. A multitude of overlapping memories all before him in a minute, to the point that he couldn't process even one of them. It was too much of a hassle. He now got the reason why the Oracle said what she said. He was feeling that headache that she mentioned.
But still, he tried to persevere. He tried to make sense of what was happening. He tried his level best, but he just couldn't. He could see glimpses, but it just wasn't enough. The entirety of what he found out was nothing but a giant messy gibberish. Nothing made sense with the other. That was when he appreciated the Oracle and her huge help.
