Tanya Rogers; former police officer hailed to be one of the most skilled people in her department. Due to a sudden whim of sorts, she left the department and became a private investigator, who runs around looking for supernatural events, but to no avail.
"When will this craze of yours stop? You are not only wasting your own time and money, but mine as well. What are you doing with your life?" 
Her mother hated her for doing this. But she didn't care. She had something that her mother didn't know of- the ability to see spirits. Although people mocked her for it, she truly loved her job.

The invasion that was led by Elizabeth. There was no escaping that scenario. Everyone who defied her was straight up given the death sentence. And Shaun knew that he wouldn't be any different as well. Afterall, he wasn't a big shot. He was just the normal Dhampir who was hoping for peace. And that was the reason why he switched sides when the guillotine was up on his neck. He was a coward who betrayed his people. But he just wanted to live. He just wanted peace.

And at that point of time, when he faced Vlad face-to-face, he regretted his decision ever so slightly, because Vlad looked like he would kill him at any second now.
