Apologetic and thankful

"What? Why would you assume such a stupid thing?" Ivan frowned.

"Okay then you tell me, why did you suddenly decide to stop the therapy? Was she that awful?"

"Of course not, she was great."

"Then why?" Jason raised his brows. "And the fact that you had already booked your second session with her—"

Cutting him off, Ivan snapped, "Okay, stop right there before I kick you out."

Shrugging his shoulders, Jason remarked, "I am just stating the fact, I don't know why you are getting irritated."

"Because you are irritating me."

"Geez, don't be such a baby." Glancing at the watch, he got up. "Okay, I have to go now but I will be back soon and we will have this conversation."

Ignoring his remark, Ivan kept doing his work.

…..

The Saint Building.

Amber's office.

"It's completely okay Gen, you don't have to panic," Amber assured her while shoving her things inside her handbag.

"Amber, I really don't know why he—should I talk to him?"

"No you don't have to and isn't it a good thing?"

"But why would he suddenly drop out when he was the one who told me to schedule a second appointment with you?" Genna frowned.

Glancing at her watch, Amber sighed, "Just relax okay? I have to go out now, I'll call you later." After hanging up the call, she rushed out of her office.

….

Near the elevator.

As she was waiting for the elevator, someone called her from behind.

"Hey, Amber."

"Oh dear—" she muttered before smiling at him. "Hey."

"Are you going somewhere?" Percy asked.

"Yes—"

"For lunch?" Without waiting for her reply, he added, "Even I am going for lunch, we should go together."

"Actually, I am not going for lunch. I am going out—" When the elevator door opened, she added, "Maybe next time."

"Yeah okay, I'll see you later."

….

Outside the Saint Building

When Amber came out, Ivan was waiting for her right outside the exit.

"Hey, sorry I am late."

"That's fine, I just arrived as well." Taking out his car keys from his pocket, he added, "Let's go."

She smiled and nodded her head before following him to his car.

...

Inside the car.

"Listen, I really wanted to apologize and thank you for doing this." Amber really felt very sorry but also thankful for him. He probably had a very tight schedule everyday but yet here he was accompanying her two days in a row.

"Seriously, how many times are you planning to thank me? I told you it's not a big deal, I am glad I could help you out."

"Well, given that you don't even know me well and yet you are helping me out—"

Cutting her off, he remarked, "Who said I don't know you? I know many things about you."

"Like?"

"Your name is Amber Carlton, you are twenty-eight and you love reading. You stay in Park Avenue, 5th street, house number 29—" Thinking for a while, he exclaimed, "And you prefer staying at home than going out on a Saturday night."

Throwing her head back, Amber chuckled, "You remember everything I told you."
