In Ages Long and Old

"In ages long and old war ravaged the lands and inhabitants of the world, and soon all knowledge was destroyed and the world thrown into a dark age." Taking a deep breath the professor sighed and continued, "It is unknown how the war ended only that humans survived, many believe that very few survived but where well hidden enough that when the enemies left we had enough left to survive. Any questions?"

A young scholar in the middle of the room raised his hand and asked, " Is there really no remnants of the past? We find bones and such of creatures from supposedly even farther back, so why can't there be any from the dark age?"

The professor clearly used to the young scholar took a breath and said, "As I have said before, the enemies seem to have destroyed almost all hints of information, what little that has been made known was from the descendants of survivors. We wouldn't even know that there had been civilization before had it not been from the old tales. Now please take your seat I have an announcement."

The young scholar while displeased took his seat, much to his classmates relief as he was know to talk on the subject for hours given the chance. The professor smiled thinking, 'He talks a lot but at least it is insightful, I just wish I could support his goal.'

Speaking up the professor said, "Now as you know this is our final class together before you go off to join society. Now I know this class was required to get into the army and you didn't necessarily want to listen to me all the time but please keep this knowledge close and try not to repeat the mistakes of the past. You may now leave, enjoy your lives.
