Chapter 2

...

*Haam*. Ummm, tough and gamy, but it's food.

I found a boar in the forest, and with my Archer and Assassin skills combined, hunting it was easy enough. But it looks like, unlike the game, I'm actually gonna need arrows to shoot.

When I shot my 'Ignius shard' arrow it disappeared from my inventory and I had to get it back from the boar.

In the game, you are considered to have infinite arrows. Having a specific arrow only means you get the specific effect of that arrow for your shots.

This might get annoying later, but for now, I like it. Makes it feels more realistic.

I did notice tho, that when I fired the arrow, it lit up and became enveloped in flames. Probably because it was a magic arrow with fire element.

The arrows description does say it's 'An arrow the becomes a bolt of fire.' But you never really get to see the effects in game, probably due to issues in the graphics. So getting to see it for the first time is pretty cool.

So with that, starting a fire was easy enough. I just shot the wood and it lit up.

But I wish really wish I had a Chef subclass on one of my characters. That would have been amazing. But I don't. Oh well, guess I'll just have to make do.

It should be fine since I do cook for myself... sometimes... rarely...

Ok so I don't really know how to cook good dishes, but I can at least put a peace of meat on the fire and make it edible.

It's getting dark. I should start setting up camp soon.

...

Man am I glad I went camping a lot, who could have predicted I would end up in this situation. Thank you Ms.Brit for having so many out doors activities for your classes.

Alright, I have dinner and a nice camp set up, so I am feeling pretty good right now.

The sky is so clear here. Man... if Ms.Brit sees this, she's gonna snap. Sigh.. what she wouldn't give to look at a sky like this through her telescope.

The air here is so clean that the stars almost shine brighter than the moon. I can see all the colors of the universe from here. I wish we can get air quality this clean back home. Then.. just maybe...

...

A few days have passed, and I'm currently walking through the forest.

I made myself some wooden arrows using my Blacksmith skill and I've finally encountered some monsters.

The strongest I've met so far was a pack of level 3-4 Black Hounds. So I've decided to use that as a rough estimate for deciding how strong people around here must be.

And with that, I've decided to use the hide status function in my menu to set my Display Status to level 6, as not to raise any unwanted attention if I meet any people.

I want my time here to be relaxing after all, wouldn't want to get roped in to killing the demon king and all that. If there is one thing I've learnt from all those mangas and anime, it's that a hero's life is hectic life. And that's just not for me.

I also changed the appearance of my clothes to look more ...umm...less flashy... I guess?

I couldn't change the appearance of my bow so I decided to just use my Blacksmith skill to make a new short bow.

It's a huge downgrade from my current bow, but some time ago, I found out that, unlike in the game, I can switch weapons really quickly here. All I have to do is pull it out of my Inventory. So I should be fine using the new short bow for now. If anything happens I can just switch weapons.

Besides, I've one shot everything I've encountered so far, so I don't think it's gonna be a problem.

I really like this forest, the scenery is serene and beautiful, the air is clean and the soft breeze takes away all your worries. But I'd also like to find a town at some point and get to know this world a bit better.

And maybe find some people to talk to. It's also getting pretty lonely.

I'm also getting sick of game meat and wild fruits for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Speaking of which, I've also found out that if I put food in my Inventory, it seems to not spoil. The left over boar and fruits have been in there for days and they're still fresh. Time seems to stop inside the Inventory. How convenient.

*Rustle*

"Hmm?" As I turn to look, I see a huge black figure jumped out of the bushes. The name tag above its head says it's an 'Alpha Black Hound'.

Well well, it's bigger than the others, and its name is in yellow instead of the white I've seen so far, it's also level 7.

There's 2 more white dots on the mini map. Looks like it has friends.

Ok let's... Wait... Mini map?.... Oh yeah!! The games had a mini map system! Ahhh, I'd forgotten that the game had a mini map feature, since I don't even use it.

Looks like the two dots are coming in to vie...

"Uphh!".

Ouch!! That dog just rammed me!! I didn't take any damage thanks to my Armor and Knight skills, but still!!

Rude!!

You don't just knock someone over when they're deep in thought like that!

As I was about to teach this guy a lesson. One of the dots came in to view and stabbed the hound with a spear and they both stood between me and the alpha hound.

People? I thought white dots meant monsters.

I appreciate them protecting me but I think I can handle this easier my myself, thanks.

Oh well, this is a good opportunity! Let's see what they can do.
