The Meeting.

The entire auditorium is full as it starts to slowly quiet down and their eyes drift towards the far right of the room where Oliver and Vanessa are currently sitting. The man in the middle of the group looks at them and gives a slight nod to indicate he is ready for the meeting to start. "My name is Yami Ichijo, and I am the student council President. We have called this meeting in regards to the acceptance of one Mr. Oliver Xavier Watson. He is a Junior applicant looking to join the Robotics club as the Captain. Please make your way to the stage."

Oliver stands up and unbuttons his white lab coat letting it flow along as slowly makes his way over to the stage, but that anxiety he was feeling prior is nowhere to be seen on his face. He looks at the student council and gives a slight bow as he puts his hands into his pockets. A boy with medium length black hair and thick black glasses stands up and says, "Oliver Watson, I presume. Please speak into the mic clearly and be sure to answer every question truthfully."

He sits back down as Oliver gives him a nod, but as he does the council members start whispering loudly to each other as the crowd does as well. Mr. Ichijo slams his hammer down hard. "I will say this one time. There will be silence in this room unless we are asking something of him or he is answering our queries, and anyone who disobeys will be tossed out and given a strike on their record."

Oliver turns his head and looks at all the students in attendance, but then looks back at the council as the president asks him a question. "Mr. Watson, is it true you dropped out of school towards the end of your 7th grade year?"

Oliver looks at him and breathes slowly trying to calm his nerves before answering. "Yes, yes I did. I was having familial problems and eventually it got to the point where school was the least of my priorities."

The council members whisper among themselves again as one of the girls speaks up. She looks to be around his age, and has long raven colored hair tied in a ponytail. "You say familial problems, but what is so important that requires you to drop out?"

The girl has an expressionless look on her face as Oliver is clutching his hand tightly, but takes a deep breath and responds, "I watched my parents die in front of me in an explosion, and without any other family members to take me in I decided to drop out.I found a part time job because making sure I had what I needed to live, was more important to me than school.

A few of the council members have a scowl on their face, and before they could speak the President speaks up. "There are reports you were a part of an underground robot league. Are these reports true?"

Oliver looks him in the eyes and then at the floor as he closes his eyes for a few seconds before responding. "Yes they are true. My uncle got me a job working as a custodian of sorts because finding a job at 12 was difficult. It was the only place that would let a kid like me work and make a living."

A male member who has light brown hair and green eyes scoffs and looks at him with contempt. "Do you really expect us to believe that being around those criminals didn't rub off on you in any way? We don't need filth that would associate with criminals into a school as prestigious as ours, Mr. Watson."

Oliver looks the boy in the eyes deeply as a smirk appears on his face, "Filth, you want to consider them filth, then what does that make your former captain and the team he surrounded himself with? I saw what they were capable of on the way over and I can say without a shadow of a doubt they are flies compared to the men and women who fight in the underground scene."

"What did you say you little cretin? You call my bro…the former captain a fly to those despicable little criminals…." The boy's face was red with rage and so were a few of the other's as the President smacked his gavel again.

"Order. I will not have this turn into a pissing contest, Jameson. He's not wrong, the former captain lost us 3 million dollars and you have the gall to verbally attack him for speaking the truth?"

The President has a smirk on his face as he can hear some of the council members seething as he looks at the crowd and says, "May the manager of the Robotics club come to the stage?"

Vanessa stands up and fixes her jacket before slowly making her way up the stage. She stands next to Oliver and gives him a slight smile as the President asks, "Do you find the applicant's abilities are worth making him a Captain?"

She takes a deep breath as she turns and looks the President in the eyes, "Yes. I think he will be the perfect replacement for the former Captain."

The Vice President looks at her with an angry expression on his face, "Sorry Mr. President, I have something to say. Did you find my brother's methods insufficient to the team? What makes this boy worthy of the Captain's position?"

Vanessa looks over at Oliver and points towards the red box in his pocket as she looks the Vice President in the eyes, "Well I believe his abilities are stronger than the former Captains. He also doesn't have a huge ego to look down on others who he thinks are lower than him. He is the best applicant for the club and position. I bet my life on it."

The vice president's face turns sour as Oliver's mind starts to race as Vanessa's voice snaps him out of it."You can honestly sit there as the President already said your brother and the former captain lost the school 3 million dollars in the preliminaries of last year's competition and spout your usual nonsense. Mr. President, if you would allow me the opportunity to show the council and the students in attendance the abilities of Mr. Watson in person."

The VP whispers something in the President's ear, which causes him to sigh, "Ms. Davis one more outburst like that and I will have to excuse you from the meeting and only if Mr. Watson has it on him currently. I can't stop the time for you to go back downstairs and pick something up. Other than that I wouldn't mind a demonstration."

A smile grows on Vanessa's face as she whispers to Oliver, "Oliver, take out that box and pull something crazy for everyone to see."

Oliver smiles weakly as he gives her a nod and takes out the Transport Cube from his pocket and types, -Black Magnification cube-. The cube appears on top of the other which makes the VP have a mocking smile on his face, but when Oliver presses the button his smile turns into shock. A black barrier shoots out of the box and encases the entire auditorium in it. "This red box under the black one is my Transport Cube, and the one above it is my magnification cube, and I have 3 versions of it depending on what I am working on. This one I use for projects on a massive scale, and I have two more for smaller projects. This barrier is soundproof, so anyone outside of this place can't hear anything and vice versa. If you would all turn your attention to the table in front of you."

Oliver walks over to them and starts to enlarge the table, and immediately shrinks it so it can fit in his hand. It causes the council and those in the audience to gasp loudly as they are trying to figure out what just happened. "What the hell was that?" Woah, did you see what he did?" "Impossible!"

He turns and looks over at Vanessa who starts talking, "As you can see his abilities are above and beyond anyone in our current team and those of the previous Captain. If you allow him to join the club we will make it to the Legacy games guaranteed and we will win. If you need more examples then I'm sure he can give you hundreds."

Oliver fixes the table and returns to his spot next to Vanessa who has a huge smile on her face as Oliver presses the button which causes the barrier to disperse. He notices the President and VP whispering to each other, as a different member rudely asks a question. "I will ask something all the other council members are scared to ask. When we heard who you were we came across some very interesting articles about the accident. We heard that hours before you had a loud disagreement with your parents many witnesses commented on. It was also implied that you were directly involved in your parents deaths, because how else do you explain how you're the only survivor of the explosion. I don't want a screw up like you causing drama for our school, so is it true?"

The whispers from the crowd are getting louder and the council members are murmuring among themselves. Vanessa looks over at the council member that asked the question as she clenches her fist but when she looks over at Oliver a chill runs up her spine. His eyes are darkened his hands are clenched tightly and it looked like he was about to jump the table, but she places her hands on his arm, "Hey, don't stoop to that level, he asked it that way in order to get you to react negatively and give the other members a reason to decline you. I just never imagined he would phrase it like that, I'm so sorry. Do you want to leave?"

Oliver looks at her worried expression and feels her hands on his arms as he takes 3 deep breaths easing his mind. He gives her a small smile as he adjusts the coat and looks at the council members. "No, I didn't kill my parents or have anything to do with their deaths. It was a freak accident. If you want proof I have footage from that night that I have looked at every single day wishing for a different outcome, but it always ends the same. I have blamed myself for nearly 3 years every day and I still do, but let me say this one time. I was not directly involved in my parents death, but if you ever disrespect them or say something like that again I won't hesitate in dropping you on your ass."

The President notices the clenched hands of Oliver as the council member has a scared look on his face, but the stoic expression on Oliver's face gives him a slight smile, "Thank you for expressing that in a calm and orderly manner. I know it must've been difficult based on how it was phrased. I promise you no one believes you caused such a horrific event. I will let your threat slide for now because of the insensitive way the question came about and I promise I will personally deal with the council member who asked the question, but before that let me ask you one thing."

Oliver looks at him as he is putting the two cubes in his pockets as he relaxes his hands, "No need to take care of it on your own, I think my message got across nicely. Go ahead and ask away."

The President smirks as he composes himself, "You may be good with inventing things, but how are we supposed to trust that you are good with fighting with robots? I'm sure you are or why would you be here but do you have any proof?"

Oliver looks at him intently as a smile slides across his face and he proceeds to dig around in his coat pocket until he finds what he needs, a light blue card. "Well if you need proof I have some right here if you wouldn't mind me playing this hollow card I developed. It uses light energy to transfer any image or video into a portable holographic photo album of sorts. This exact one is from my fight last night in the championship bout. I was called in pretty late so the robot isn't pretty but considering I only had 3 hours it's perfect."

Oliver presses the button on the side and tosses it a few inches in front of him. A clear image of the battleground including the crowd appears. The faces of everyone in the auditorium are in awe of the massive holographic images being shown on stage. In the middle is a well built robot with a white shawl on it's head as the robot is on one knee a bigger robot's fist is pressed into the abdomen area. The video plays and the eyes turn green and pulls out a blade as it's expertly fighting the bigger bot, and the crowd is screaming and roaring, "Prince! Prince! Prince! " "Don't back down, Behemoth!!"

As the fight ends with the bigger bot on the ground and the smaller one perched on the shoulder of the other it shows Oliver's mask with the name The Prince of Machines above him.

Everyone in the auditorium is entranced in the image as they are all quiet and even the council members are looking on in awe as the President smiles, "I have seen more than enough, so I just have one final thing to ask before we close out the meeting. Will you uphold the tradition and honor of Elextrian Academy in all your endeavors from here on out?"

Oliver takes a deep breath as he looks at each council member and a smile creeps on his face, "I will live up to the expectations of being a student here."

The President looks Oliver deep in the eyes as he stands up and gives him a deep bow, "Oliver Watson, I will personally back your application. Please study hard and take our club to the Legacy games and show the world what Elextrian Academy is capable of. Good Luck, Mr. Watson."
