The Stranger In The House!

"You have to tell him!!!"

My breaths quickened as my heart started beating faster than usual. "But, Uncle Dan..."

"Squirt, c'mon. It won't be that bad. Trust me." Uncle Dan called out to me. I took a deep breath before making my way to where he was leaning against the door frame. He took my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Don't you worry. My brother adores you. I'm sure he'll understand."

My anxiety seemed to grow with every step I took until I was a ball of bundled nerves standing in front of Dad's office. He's usually locked in his office by this time.

"Ready?"

"You better do it now before I change my mind and run off." I croaked out. Uncle Dan rolled his eyes before tapping his knuckles against the wooden door, the noise seeming to be louder than usual.

"Come in." Dad's voice called out in the distance. Uncle Dan pushed the door, signaling for me to go in. I took a deep breath, clenching my hands tightly before walking into his study.

"Hey, brother!"
