In the Void, an even darker vortex was slowly moving forward, swallowing everything in its path—rocks, tree branches, mist, shattered planes, and more—disappearing without a trace.
As the vortex passed by some potential hiding spots, creatures that were hidden inside frantically fled. Those fast enough managed to escape the reach of the vortex and then, lost and disoriented, they looked back at their former homes. But their homes were no more, replaced by a gaping mouth-like vortex.
Those who were too slow were naturally consumed by the vortex, spared from such worries.
Wherever the vortex passed, it left a trail of pristine nothingness, even the sparse gases in its path completely vanishing.
Ange and the others, under Garritt's guidance, reached the furthest point from which the vortex could be observed and watched its movement from a distance.
