Leaving the Dark side, they came to a place where sunlight could reach, and the Two-legged Bird couldn't wait, squawking, "Let me go, let me run."
Little Bone slapped it irritably and then untied the rope, threw it together with some bones, casually stuffing a Soul Crystal into its hands.
The bird's soul was too weak; without sunlight, it would fall apart. Little Bone had intended to use it as a mount, but more often than not, it proved to be a burden. Maybe it was better to just throw it away?
The Big Bird, unaware of Little Bone's thoughts of discarding it, joyfully licked the Soul Crystal once its body was reassembled.
The way the Big Bird "ate" the Soul Crystal was amusing—inclining its head toward the Soul Crystal, a pale blue flame escaped from its nostrils, touching the crystal which then emitted the same flame and gradually shrank.
After licking the Soul Crystal, the Big Bird's soul grew slightly stronger.
