Chapter 27

Axel appeared with a hot smile in the palace dining room. His father and mother saw something different about the son, but the mother who saw Axel and Charlotte in the palace garden felt that the relationship between her son and daughter-in-law was not good. He saw Charlotte pointing at Axel and seemed to be talking earnestly. Axel also gave the same look when talking to Charlotte in the palace garden. However, Axel's mother didn't want to talk about it when they ate together and discussed terrible things in front of Charlotte.

"You look very fresh this morning, is there anything that makes you happy?" asked the father.

"Ah, no, Dad, I'm the same as usual," Axel replied.

Axel's mother also gave a smile when her husband and son were talking. Then, he looked at Charlotte, who was only focused on her food without talking or smiling. Axel's more sensitive mother also believes that there is something wrong with the relationship between her son and daughter-in-law.

To lighten the mood, Axel's mother asked about Charlotte's plans for today; at least, she wanted to chat to make her daughter-in-law's heart happy again.

"Do you have anything to do today, Charlotte?"

Charlotte looked down at her mother-in-law and answered her question, "I'll embroider in my room, Mom."

"Ah, you still do it. I really like your embroidery, would you mind if I joined you?"

"Of course not, ma'am," replied Charlotte with a smile.

Yes, that's how Charlotte behaved with her mother-in-law. She always tries to be the best and treats her mother-in-law as her mother. Axel realized that when he saw his mother and Charlotte communicating. The guilt resurfaced, and he glanced slightly at his wife.

The dinner table conversation ended with Axel's father placing the spoon on the table. Axel's mother, who already knew the code, immediately got up and held her husband to get up from his seat. They would usually get some fresh air in the palace backyard and return to their private rooms.

Seeing her mother and father-in-law, Charlotte felt so jealous, and at that moment, she aired sarcasm to her husband, who was still enjoying breakfast.

"Your mother must be happy to be married to your father."

Axel looked like he didn't know what to say; he just looked down at breakfast on the table. Charlotte just left after throwing the satire and left Axel alone.

Axel got up from the dining table after finishing his breakfast. But he was blocked by his mother, who had been watching him from the end of the hall to the garden behind the palace.

"Did you hurt Charlotte again?" asked the mother.

"Mom accuses or asks?" Axel replied, "There's not even any intention of marrying her, how can I hurt her?"

Axel's mother was surprised by what Axel said. His tone of voice that sounded duty described what he had been feeling all this time. Although he disapproves of this marriage, everything has happened, he should know how to deal with this situation. If, indeed, he couldn't make Charlotte happy, at least doing good wouldn't hurt.

"You who accept with resignation all this, you also have to run it well. Does this have anything to do with your conversation in the palace front garden at midnight last night?" asked the mother.

Axel didn't expect his mother to see them. He immediately tried to find an excuse to answer correctly, and no more questions were raised. He didn't want to be blamed again for what his mother had seen in the park in the middle of the night.

"I was just looking for a breath of fresh air because of a dream I had," Axel replied, "Charlotte breastfeeds and talks about other things."

"But what you see is that you two seem to be bickering and pointing at each other. If it's like this how can you have offspring? your father is getting old, even walking he must be led, don't you think about that, Axel? Does this have anything to do with your past love? Don't make your mother and father act to find out who he is!" The mother sternly warned her son.

Axel began to feel pressured when his past was discussed again, I don't know what to say now, but Axel also didn't want to sound rude to his mother. He tries to understand his current feelings that are still being built for Charlotte, hoping that her mother can understand.

"I tried really hard to love him, Mom," Axel replied.

"Show me!" Axel's mother really couldn't take it anymore. "Remember! You must give the successor to this family." Axel's mother then left her son.

Axel's mother met her daughter-in-law in her daughter-in-law's private room. It was seen that Charlotte was seriously embroidering red thread, and the shape of the embroidery was already visible, a baby dress that looked very warm. Axel's mother can also see how Charlotte also wants a baby at her wedding. Of course, Charlotte also intends to give grandchildren to her mother and father, whom she is willing to leave because she is married to a prince from another kingdom.

"You're always serious when you do something," said Axel's mother.

"If something is done earnestly, the result will also be perfect, Mom," replied Charlotte.

"Is that baby clothes?" asked the mother-in-law.

Charlotte suddenly stopped her embroidery; she raised the embroidery a bit high to be seen clearly. Charlotte also gave a smile when she saw her embroidery, making her mother-in-law smile too. Axel's wife looks so peaceful but also exudes sadness.

"I made it as a gift for my cousin who just gave birth. How lucky he is to have been blessed with such a handsome little angel," said Charlotte.

Axel's mother's smile disappeared instantly when she heard Charlotte say that. His son-in-law seemed to be holding something inside him, which he couldn't express. It was all probably because of Axel's very unkind attitude, and Charlotte was feeling very unhappy right now.

Axel's mother approached her beautiful daughter-in-law, trying to give more love because she knew her son had scratched the wound. At least, Axel had received a stern warning from his mother regarding his attitude towards Charlotte. Axel will think about it and won't let his mother down.

"The Universe will definitely be on your side. You are such a good creation, surely nothing will let you grieve and suffer, dear," said the mother-in-law.

"Thank you, Mom," replied Charlotte, returning her mother-in-law's warm hug. Charlotte was relieved that there was still someone who supported her and was on her side, even though she didn't directly tell what she was feeling.
