Chapter 4: The accident and the baseball game

'Ok now that I've made the Cullen's bodies normal, the only saving grace for Bella to look into vampires is the accident or Edward not being a dumbass.' "I'll worry about it when the time comes, good night father." Only seconds later I hear, "Goodnight son, interesting choices you've made but it's your life in the end, good luck." With a smile on my face I fall asleep.

A week goes by with me hanging out at the Cullen's place after school almost every day. I've made Emmett a VR setup and had it run all of the games from the SAO anime, including Gun Gale and ALfheim. Eventually everyone joined in to try and take on all of the floors of Aincrad, I just watched from the side and healed them sometimes. Seeing their reactions to finally eating human food again was hilarious. With the typical foodgasm faces all around the table I laughed maybe a bit too hard since Rose elbowed me in the side after a minute or so.

Today is the day when Bella would have gotten run over if not for Edward saving her. I pull into school in my Nissan Skyline, definitely in my top five cars, and walk over to Rose and give her a hug. People in the parking lot should be used to this from the last week but they still stare. School finally ends and we're standing by our cars while Bella and Edward have their little staring contest. Now, I could just forcefully stop that kids car, but where's the fun in that? And it would take Bella forever to figure out Edward is a vampire without this only sign now. Car goes SKRRRT, Edward goes VROOM, and BAM his hand stops the car. The rest of the Cullen's have panicked faces thinking someone might have seen Edward but no one besides Bella saw him stop the car with his hand. I may or may not have helped a bit to be sure of that no one saw anything on their side of the car, hehe.

Bella is taken to the hospital for a checkup, Rose and I are waiting for Carlisle to finish checking on Bella and Edward is brooding in the corner. When Carlisle comes back, Rose and Carlisle are scolding Edward about his actions. Around the corner Bella says, "Can I talk to you for a minute?" Edward walks over to Bella and I turn to Rose. "So how long until Bella figures it out? I give it a few days max, hehe." Rose punches my arm lightly and glares at me as she says, "Its not funny Lucifer, we can't be found out here or we'll have to leave Forks." I bring her into a hug and say, "If someone does find out, I could wipe that memory from them. Wouldn't want to move away from your mate now would you?" Giving a playful grin, Rose gives a small smile and says, "Maybe I'd just stay with you?" Sounding more seductive now than ever before. "Oh, and what would we be doing with just you and I?" Giving a teasing grin, she looks to the side and says. "Maybe cuddle up on the couch and watch some movies or whatever you can think of." I give her a kiss on the forehead and say. "Anything for you, my dear Rose. Well, I did promise you on the day we met to show you my company. There are some things that need to be done before hand though, I would like to take you on a date pretty soon, if you'd like to." Smashing into me with a big hug she says, "Finally you ask dummy. Of course I'd like to go on a date."

Dropping off Rose at her house, I head back home as well. 'Creepy Edward will be in Bella's room tonight. At least Jacob will hint towards Bella with the old tale from the Quileute tribe at the beach, as well as the book store when she goes prom dress shopping with Jessica and Angela.' With that I pass out.

After school today I head over to the Cullen's place just any other day. 'Since their bodies are warm now, if I change Edwards skin temperature to cold the day Bella goes dress shopping, that should confirm she will find out about vampires and we're back on track 100%. I'll just do it from a distance before he pulls up to the frat boys.' "Hello everyone." Rose runs up to me and I give her a big hug. "Hello Rose." Giving her a kiss on the forehead, she looks up into my eyes and smiles replying, "Hello Lucifer. Would you like to stay for dinner again?" Turning my head to Esme saying, "And what might be for dinner tonight Mrs. Cullen?" Esme smiles at me and says, "Just call me Esme, or mom if you're feeling up to it. And we're having tacos tonight." My face lights up, "Oh my favorite, I might even stay the night in a food coma after dinner, haha." Everyone chuckles as we sit down and play some VR games for a bit and then have dinner. After dinner I say, "Just a reminder, when it's sunny out stay home just like normal, some people might question you guys if you start coming to school on sunny days." Carlisle nods and says, "We'll be sure to keep up appearances for the time being, thank you." Nodding back I say, "Thank you for the delicious dinner, as always." Leaving the Cullen's place for the night giving Rose a kiss on her forehead once more and I head home.

Finally the day of the dress shopping happens and I change Edwards skin temperature as he and Bella get into their car. 'Sweet, everything should be on track now. Time to plan my date with Rose.' Thinking of where to take her, my mind wanders to some beautiful places we could go. 'I think the northern lights in the Norwegian Arctic would be an amazing spot for our first date.' Making my mind up, I head to school. 'Looks like Bella figured it out, good for her.' Smiling as I see them walk off into the woods for their chat. Taking hold of Rose's hand, the rest of us go to school for the day.

A few days later Edward is bringing Bella to the Cullen's place. I'm already here cuddling up with Rose as they walk inside with Bella looking as awkward as ever describing the house. Rosalie is not as cold as she would have been in the movie when Bella gets here since she's with me now. Rose says, "Here comes the human." I chuckle a bit and Esme walks up to Bella and says, "Bella, we're making Italiano for you." Some small words are said and then Bella looks give an awkward smile saying she's absolutely hungry and Edward says, "She already ate." Now things are bit different as I chime in and say, "Bella, nice to meet you. I'm sure by now you know that the Cullen's are vampires so I'll skip to where I come into all of this. I'm Rosalie's mate, I'm also and angel. Now, normally vampires cannot eat human food but I've changed their bodies to that of a normal human while still keeping their powers, strength, speed, and regeneration. Don's ask how, just believe me. Feel Edwards hand again if you want to confirm it." She looks bewildered but does just that and looks shocked since it was cold not too long ago, compliments to me, hehe. "Edward, why don't you take Bella for a tour of the house while dinner is being prepared." He gives a nod and takes Bella upstairs. 'I feel like I took that lone from Carlisle just now, haha.' Smiling we go back to making dinner.

From the kitchen we can hear Bella asking about me, but Edward tells her just just ask me directly. I give a chuckle to that thinking of how she will probably faint just like Edward did. "Well, that went better than I expected. I thought for sure I'd be bombarded with questions form Bella but all's well that ends well I suppose." Having dinner together, we all make some small talk and enjoy the food. Bella does have a little bit and compliments the food. Eventually Bella and Edward go outside to climb some trees and whatnot for the rest of the night.

{Elsewhere}

James, Victoria, and Laurent can be seen killing humans attracting attention in the form of animal attacks. The only people that don't think it's an animal attack are the Quileute's, hinted by Billy Black talking to Charlie.

Back to the present, today is the day of the baseball game. I'm off to the side to keep the teams balanced while Bella is the umpire. Rosalie's team is up first, and she's up to bat. She hits the ball as the thunder booms to mask the hit. Edward gives chase and throws it to Esme at home, just as Rose slide in. "You're out." Bella says, as Rose gives a hateful glare. I slide in behind her and whisper, "Crush the next one for me, you did great Rose." She puts on a smile and walks to the side as I give Bella a nod and she responds back with one as well. After a few more hits I see Alice freeze for a moment and yells, "STOP!" Everyone flocks around Bella and Edward apologizes and tells Bella to put her hair in her hat. Not like anything done now can help hide her smell. I'd be more worried about them finding me out as I smell like a human too. 'Wonder why no one told me to hide my scent.' Shrugging my shoulders I put an arm around Rose's waist and waited. Watching James, Victoria, and Laurent come out of the woods and come in font of Carlisle, things are really tense.

Laurent hold up the ball and says, "I believe this belongs to you?" Giving off a small smirk and throwing it to Carlisle. "Thank you." Carlisle responds. Giving some introductions, Carlisle introduces us as his family. Carlisle tells them that their hunting activities have caused problems and Laurent apologizes saying he didn't know the territory has been claimed. Saying they won't be a problem anymore, James is having some real issues controlling himself as he stares at Edward. Victoria says they led the humans east and we should be safe. Laurent ask if we could use three more players for just one more game. Carlisle says, "Sure, a few of us were just leaving. You can take their place, we'll bat first." He throws the ball and Victoria catches it saying, "I'm the one with the wicked curveball." Emmett has a smug smile and Jasper smirks a bit saying, "Oh, I think we can handle that." Everyone laughs and turns around, but James stays looking at Bella. The wind starts to blow in his direction, he takes a big wiff and says, "Oh, you brought a snack." Edward pushes Bella back a little as he confronts James while the rest of the Cullen's come back to protect her.

"Hmhmhm...hahahaHAHAHA" Laughing at the confrontation, all eyes are on me as I say, "What? Anyone else find it weird none of them smelled me and only Bella? *sigh* Continue than, I'm just an observer." Turning their attention back to each other Laurent says, "I can see the game is over, we'll go now. James." As they slowly back up I give a malicious grin to James when his eyes meet mine for a brief second. 'Oh I have a big plan for you little vampire, haha.'

"Get Bella out of here" Carlisle tells Edward and the pair go off to the jeep and leave. "Well now, things just got interesting ey?" Some glares come at me but I just shrug it off and hop in with Rose heading home. Bella and Edward do their guilt trip to Charlie to make sure he's safe from James. Emmett and Alice follow Edward and Bella back to the Cullen's place. When they walk through the door, Laurent is here giving off his whole, "This isn't my fight, and I've grown tired of his games. But he's got unparalleled senses, absolutely lethal. I've never seen anything like him in my 300 years." Also telling them not to underestimate Victoria. Laurent leaves and we head to the garage to come up with a plan. As I thought, keeping to the story, Alice and Jasper take Bella with them while south while the rest of the Cullen's will spread Bella's sent north to lead James and Victoria away. "I'll keep and eye in the sky, just to make sure they won't recognize my sent as well. Also if anything might happen to any of you I can be there in less than a nanosecond." Giving a warming smile that eases the tension slightly, everyone nods in approval. I step outside after Alice takes off with Jasper and Bella and Spread my wings, lighting up the area as I do, and take off into the sky.

Already spotting James, a vicious smile comes to my face. "Your time has come to face judgement for looking to kill a soon to me family member. Enjoy our remaining time James, your soul will never rest as long as I live." With my eyes glowing brightly and ominously, I bide my time untill the ballet studio.
