1-2

The meeting place is at the university that all of my friends and me attend to. As I entered its main gates, I saw one of the eighteen who will be participating in our post-vacation celebration.

A little woman, short for a few inches than my already small height; jade white skin, squinty eyes, a little chubby face yet still looking fit, maybe because she's a ballet dancer as well as trained in taekwondo. Her name is Sheila. I didn't expect anyone else, since the beginning of our college years, the early bird is either me or her but running through the numbers statistically, it's usually me.

I haven't seen Sheila in the whole summer, heck I haven't seen anyone of them at all, though it's not their fault for being so ghostly towards me since I'm the introvert who happily celebrated his whole summer vacation in his room. I greeted her as casual as I can try. I can see the excitement on her face; it's the same look as mine, I guess I'm not the only one who is looking forward to this.

"Yow. How's summer… Wait... Forget that I even asked…" She asked then sighed in place as if she already deduced my whole summer. Was I this easy to decipher?

"Well, how's yours then?" Since she didn't continue to asked, I rebounded the question to her,

"Nothing much apparently… I mostly stayed in the house. I tried driving a little… I barely reached the gas." She sighed in disappointment,

I chuckled a little at her misfortune. I somehow felt her pain since some cars do have a farther gas pedal.

As we waited, time slowly ticking, one by one, they started to show up; first one to show up is Jasmine, second is Gregory, third is the infamous Wesley; infamous for being ever so late but this time he's not, the fourth ones are James and Jefferson, fifth is Jane, sixth ones are Kevin, Carlo and Ryan, seventh ones are Nadia, Claire, Kristen, Johnny and Steph and the last ones are Troy and Venus; eighteen overall. All of a sudden the place became lively and gay which is nice in so many ways.

We rented a jeepney and everyone started choosing where to seat, I will be seating in the middle on the left side of the jeepney, seated between Gregory and James. All of the stuff is set and we're ready to go. As the jeepney ran along the road, everyone is frolicking as we tell the tale of our summer journey (except I), making weird faces like we always do, some are even singing to their heart's content even though their vocals are still arguably just shouting the lyrics, not trying to mention that it's Johnny but it is Johnny.

From all these laughs and unexpected reactions that will make you ROFL for the next minutes, I felt something is off like something bad will bound to happen in an unexpected twist, I just can't lay a finger about this chill that is running down my spine like I just experienced Déjà Vu. Maybe it's all but just my imagination; after all, from everything that I can trust, my instinct is wrong most of the time.

But this feeling of fear and worry even without any sort of basis is just bizarre. I looked at Jane with an indifferent look as I knitted my brows thinking about the dream I just had.

"Hmm? Daryl, what is it? Do I have something on my face?" Jane noticed my odd stare,

"… Hmm? Oh, uh, nothing. Nothing. I just remembered something. It's nothing really." I waved my hands with a worried smile signifying that it's not something important and she returned her attention back to listening to everyone's stories.

Maybe I'm just over-thinking things; after all, I have been playing weird games and watching weird animes that would influence my train of thought at this moment. And my instinct is not really something that I continued on trusting since every single time that I trust it, it always fails me, all the time.

After the stench from cars giving off extreme cancer smokes, the scent of water falling from the mountain slowly started to fill our senses. Passing through this rocky road and reached the falls hidden behind some grove of trees. Everyone felt dumbfounded with our mouths agape; the sight is just too beautifully crafted by nature that it felt like a paradise, like it is the Garden of Eden that is stated in the bible. I just couldn't think of any kind of adjective that could describe such scenery, it is simply impeccable.

We reached the place in exactly 10:00 AM. Everyone prepared all the stuff that we assign each other to bring; cooking and grilling station is all set, tables and chairs are intact, the cooks have a face of burning passion while the others just jumped on the water because they couldn't resist the temptation the fall gives off anymore.

I'm helping the others to prepare the food (When I thought helping is just me placing the plate and utensils on the table); I can smell the sweet scent of beef and chicken being cooked like some expensive cuisine. I looked at the people in the pool, splashing water at each other. Even Carlo did a back-flip, now that made me shout 'WOW' with extreme fascination.

I saw Jefferson and James carrying Sheila and thrown her to the pool without hesitation while Nadia is happily taking pictures of everyone. Jasmine and Gregory is busy preparing the food, Kevin, Ryan, Johnny and Kristen are playing a card game and Troy and Venus are doing their stuff, you know, moments. Man, sights like these makes my worries feel like it's only a word, except for Troy and Venus; their moments make me feel a little bit jealous. Ah, when can I get me some girlfriend? At times like these that being positive is always good so I will just wait for the right time… Wait, isn't that what single people always say? Sigh Well, whatever.

After an hour and a half, Gregory started to shout in the open, calling everyone that the food is ready to be munched by our hungry mouths. Everyone immediately gone to the table like savage hungry hyenas, blessed the food and smacked our faces with delicious, five stars' worth of dishes being presented in our eyes. It was lively and full of smiles with skits being performed by Gregory and Johnny for comic relief.

When all of a sudden, Nadia walked like she's a drunkard that drank a drum full of pure alcohol then fell to the ground. Everyone was surprised at the sight of Nadia who suddenly fell to the floor even though she is a very healthy woman. Then Venus fell, then Sheila. The faces of the remaining conscious people are both shocked and scared. The place is continually becoming foggy and cloudy. I started to feel sleepy also, it feels like some Pokemon is using sleep powder and a description will be shown saying 'It's super effective!' on the battle text but in all seriousness, I started to feel like my instinct is somehow right for the very first time.

As I muster all my willpower just to let my knees stay in place, my eyes become teary and blurry as Gregory and Carlo went down and everyone else left started to walk like some drunkard zombies. I can't fight this feeling anymore; my eyes are too heavy to lift. I fell down the ground and went to an unexpected slumber. The last thing I remember is feeling rocks and sand touching my skin.
