2-3

I am back at sitting on the porch, time check 2:30 PM on my phone, it could be somewhere between 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. Lunch is almost ready, I'm just waiting for someone to yell 'LUNCH IS READY' or something.

"Oh, Daryl." Someone called me from the back,

I looked over my shoulder. A slender figure, slightly wavy hair, chapped lips and smooth brown skin reflecting the light of the sun that made her shine brightly. Jane approached my bored being. She sat beside me looking at the same sky that I'm also looking at.

"Where have you been?" I asked,

"In the Comfort Room, my stomach has been very upset since yesterday. Luckily this place also has medicine." She sighed looking drained and tired,

"You've been here?" she asked,

"Yup… Since there is no internet connection here, no reception, and my phone doesn't have anything cool in it. So I don't have anything to do in particular." I replied,

"You could say that again." She sighed tiredly again,

"So what have you been looking at?" She asked me, trying to continue this conversation,

"The trees… Now that you have asked about it, I haven't seen a bird yet." I said,

"Like ever? Since when?" It seems to have piqued her interest because for a minute there, I think I saw her eyes sparkled,

"About three to four hours already." I added,

"That doesn't make any sense…" She mumbled,

"The 'what' exactly?" I tilted my head in puzzlement,

"This is a forest right?" She said.

Forest? What abo- oh! Right, a forest should be the home for animals such as birds, snake or whatnot but since I haven't seen a bird like ever since my watch began. Then I could conclude that something is indeed odd but…

"But what if all the birds just went from another direction, doesn't that make more sense?" I said,

"So basically what you're saying is that there is only one species of bird here? A flock of birds stays with its kind and in its home apparently… There could be other animals other than birds, you know." Sorry if I didn't know that Jane,

"Well if you say it like that, I haven't heard crickets, croaks or any other loud and annoying insect and or animals last night too, it seems pretty odd." I added,

We went silent for a bit; the wind caresses our skin with gentle ease; it is so refreshing. I was thinking of something, earlier. What was it that I was thin- Oh! Boom! Another explosive reoccurrence came to mind.

"Have you seen Carlo, Kevin and Ryan? I haven't seen them for about 3 hours now. I think they haven't come back yet." I asked worriedly,

"No. Where did they go?" She asked,

"They said they're looking for clues to know where this place is. I'm kind of worried." I sighed as if I'm out of aspiration,

"They'll come back so don't worry about anything." She comforted me,

"Yeah, I guess you're right." I calmed down,

"LUNCH IS READY GUYS!" Kristen shouted in the open,

"Guess we better go." Jane said.

We stood up and enter the estate and into the dining room.

"? Where's Kevin?" Gregory asked everyone,

"I think they haven't come back yet." Sheila replied,

"They'll come eat lunch if they wanted to." Gregory pouted,

"The three of them gone, yet you're only worried about Kevin. Pretty obvious, aren't we?" Jefferson smirked at Gregory,

"Son. Don't be like that!" Gregory embarrassingly slapped Jefferson's shoulder, left and right.
