CHAPTER 6: IS IT TOO HARD TO GET OUT?

6-1

Me and Steph burst out the basement room, we had a fair share of crying and mourning for James. We looked at each other and smiled in relief yet sad. We slowly walked to the estate. And as we opened the door, I looked eye to eye with the crying Nadia. Her gaze is so devastated, I am not used to seeing her looking so lifeless yet I am not to say because I might also be giving the vibe.

Jefferson and Jane are covered with blankets but what piqued me more is how Jefferson is fully covered in blood. Both are shaking endlessly, as if experiencing something horrifying.

Sheila ran towards me and held my shirt collar.

"WHERE IS JAMES?! WHY ISN'T HE WITH YOU?!" Sheila exclaimed, crying and agonizing,

"I… He…" though, I recovered a little yet I still couldn't utter the truth, I still deny the fact that my friend died, though, I didn't see him died but it is still disturbing,

"HE-HE'S DEAD!" As if remembering something that was meant to be forgotten, Steph cried as he sat on the floor in horror,

"NO… NOT HIM TOO…" Nadia muttered,

"Too? No. Wesley?" my eyes widen as I hurriedly looked around for Wesley,

"Dead…" Jane uttered,

"I KILLED HIM!" Jefferson looked at me in horror and guilt,

He held his head with his bloodied hands and shook his head uncontrollably.

"I DIDN'T MEAN TO STAB HIM. EVERYONE WAS LAUGHING; I THOUGHT HE WAS ANOTHER DILLUSION. I DIDN'T MEAN TO STAB HIM. I'M A MURDERER! A FUCKING MURDERER!" Jefferson shouted as he punched himself nonstop, he was then held by Nadia and Sheila to stop him from hurting himself further.

"I'm a murderer." Jefferson uttered, wheezing in place.

I couldn't stop my tears from falling again.

"We lost two…" I uttered,

"Greg? What happened to them?" I asked,

"They already entered the basement door an hour ago. You and Jane's team just got out." Nadia explained,

"I hope they're alright." Sheila said as she held Jefferson in place while sobbing.
