We both kind of just.. hugged. Just hugged it out. She cried into my shoulder for a while before falling asleep. Carefully placing her back in the other chair, I took out a drawing notebook. Time to sketch.
After about an hour or two sketching (and during that time I moved behind the counter) another customer walked in. It was Jay, one of the regulars here.
I put the drawing notebook back behind the counter and went to take his order.
Jay was kind and a bit shy. He usually just played games on the gaming system we have while drinking some coffee.
Sometimes he'd stare out into the distance as if looking at something. The very, very cliche faraway stare.
Nevertheless, he helped out the business, seeing as he was one of the few that actually came to the shop.
The coffee shop was actually just a throwaway idea from the owner. The owner was very rich and didn't really care about it that much.
Therefore, he only hired me and just kind of... let me do my thing. As a result, it's severely understaffed and hardly anybody comes here because the cooking is terrible.
Of course, I have been getting better at cooking, but now that everybody was scared away from the coffee shop from how it originally was, they never came back.
I flopped down on the couch next to Jay and watched him play for a bit. He was playing a game where the cat has to collect sushi and stay away from bombs.
It seems pretty fun. I wonder...
"Can I play?" I asked, looking in his direction. His brown eyes were focused on the TV. "Right after this level." He replied.
I turned back to the screen and looked at how he was doing in the game. He had collected 237 sushi and been hit by 7 bombs. Meanwhile, Jay was busy finishing the level.
"Alrighty! Now we can play multiplayer." He said, a smile on his face. "Let's see how well we work together."
