Chapter 17: Magic Lessons (1)

Author Message:

Hey readers, sorry for being inactive and not uploading lately. I can offer a whole bunch of excuses but that's a waste of time. Will be resuming chapter uploads irregularly for a while in order to manage assignments and try to stop harming my self. Love you all so much! :)

Ah btw, will be seriously condensing the system interface from now on, it's too complicated~

Sitting on a mossy stone, I gazed at Tiamat like a dog asking its owner for treats.

*Sigh*

"C-can you stop looking at me like that? It's pissing me off somehow?!"

"Ahahaha, sorry, sorry. Anyway, teach me some magic, Tiamat Sensei!"

"Yep, its about time anyway. First of all, describe to me what you think magic is." Tiamat asked.

Resting my head on my right fist, I pondered over what [magic] really was.

Firstly, whenever I use magic I see the particles around me either increase or decrease depending on my will.

Secondly, the colour corresponds with a certain type of magic.

Lastly, magic does not abide by the law of energy conservation as when I erased that section of the frozen lake, I erased everything, not displaced or moved it.

If that's the case then...

"Um, is it the ability to influence magic particles to either create or erase anything?" I asked

Nodding, Tiamat goes on to say

"Yep, that's correct. Although it is pretty impressive to provide such an apt description of magic."

"Hahaha, thanks."

"Now, since you know what magic theory is, we can move onto how to sense it."

Nodding, Tiamat continued.

"Since you already have the mana perception ability, we will try to test what level you perception is. Skills are classified into several different levels for convenience. The skills from lowest to highest are:

[Poor]

[Below Average]

[Average]

[Common]

[Above Average]

[Quasi-Noble]

[Advanced]

[Baron]

[Semi-Expert]

[Viscount]

[Expert]

[Earl]

[Semi-Master]

[Marquees]

[Master]

[Duke]

"Why is there so many? Is the difference that big?" I quizzed

"Yes, the difference between a skill level is vast. For example, a [poor] ranked skill would be a peasant fighting in a war with no arms, legs ears or anything. A [Below Average] skill would grant them the basics except for a weapon."
