Computer Generated Prompt Experiment

"Humans have been dreaming of technology such as this for millennia," said the leading scientist. "And finally, we have delivered. Welcome to a public demonstration of the technology of the future!" The crowd roared, and the scientist pulled back the curtain, revealing a huge obelisk of wires, components, and flashing gizmos. In the center of the obelisk sat an indention, no bigger than a pineapple, and inside a singular apple; seemingly waiting for what is to come. The crowd sat forward in anticipation; waiting for a moment sure to make history. "Pull the lever!" shouted the scientist at a man to the left of the stage. The crowd heard a faint click, and the obelisk started making a horrible racket as if it were about to explode. The wires were glowing, and it seemed the whole stage was shaking. Then, nothing. Those in the crowd noticed the bright red fruit was gone from inside the obelisk. The scientist, hoping the invention did indeed work as he had hoped, crossed his fingers behind his back. Everyone waited in anticipation. Silence. Then, suddenly the machine shook and glowed once again, and the apple returned. The crowd once again roared in excitement towards the feat of technology before them. Then, silence once more. The scientist was examining the fruit with a strange curiosity. Then, the roar stopped, as one by one the crowd noticed that the apple had changed. A singular bite had been taken from it.
